Not sure where to ask this. but 2 weeks ago exactly at this date i had weird bumps in the back of my throat it was also inflammed. The day before i was having a terrible dry cough, i kept coughin and coughin and coughin and nothing was coming out. went to the clinic friday after seeing the bumps convinced i had strep throat. Sure enought i did a swap and yes i did have it. Got antibiotics and bought over the counter all natural cold and flu remedy. 2-3 days later i was sick as a dog with no fever and sore throat i barely vaped and stopped smoking {OTHER STUFF}. okay so i started to feel better but also i was very very very stressed about my throat as the bumps and white patches did not go away. I kept taking bunch of pictures everyday and stressed myself so much. Fast foward to last sunday, My swollen glands went away and started to feel better. (Also tried a bunch of home remedys such as garlin and honey and lemon tea , gargling salt water and baking sods, gargling with periowash mouthwas and kept taking the antibiotics) THE BUMPS SEEM TO NOT GET WORSE OR BETTER. So i went to a different clinic where the lady told me that ive been just stressing out and she said it healing and to not think or keep taking pictures. So today 2 weeks after my bumps appered it looks like its about 10% better but still red and bumpy with fewer whilte patches, I resolved to my normal routine of Newchapter's Multivatimins and keep doing everything i have been since it begon. My question really is someone else been dealing with bumps like those? I do not feels sick anymore and neither is my mucus Green\yellow like it used to be. I only drink 1 cup of coffee now (as oppose to 2) i Smoked {LESS OTHER STUFF} and Vape alot more lightly 3ml a day as oppose to 6.
Could it be due to stress and im just getting better? or could it be GERD?
Last few days and espically when smoking {OTHER STUFF} i feel like im getting chocked and as something is always in my thorat and can not swallow it or cought it out.
please help this is so annoying!

If it's thrush, antibiotics won't work. Thrush is caused by a fungus, not by bacteria. Antibiotics are for bacterial infections. Your dentist can diagnose and treat thrush. If it's not thrush, perhaps you should see an ENT specialist.

Have you considered the possibility that smoking cigarettes may have desensitized you to the effects of smoking [the other product]? I suggest you completely remove one thing at a time to see what particular thing may be causing this. That could give you the answer you're seeking.

From someone that use to get strep twice a year, stop with the other stuff. Sterilize the crap out of your PV if possible switch tanks and only use two while you're sick. One at a time a sterpize the other one. Sometimes it can take 2-3 days to get over it some worse cases went 4-5 weeks. Also buy a new toothbrush and toss your old one once you're better.

sounds like you're run down and might have an oral thrush (candidiasis) overgrowth (can happen after antibiotic use in those immune compromised, diabetics and common from what I'd seen in "other" smokers that are stressed out) that "choking" sensation might just be it's in your whole esophagus (I've seen it) there's a swish and spit antifungal and pills you'll need to see your physician and TALK to him..if he's in a hurry..slow him down or get his nurse (and make sure it's a real one and not what most doctor offices have medical assistants) it sounds like you've got a lot going on there..and chill (naturally please) :)

Hope you feel better.

I would suggest a high pg juice for awhile. What are you using currently? Clean toothbrush with peroxide. Pg is antibacterial and antifungal and should help. The strep if you still have it will need antibiotics but sometimes they contribute to fungal infections. Have to get rid of one thing at a time. Do not share any equipment with others.

Sounds like small tonsil stones... they can make funny little white bumps in the back of your throat. You could have had strep throat as well on top of it. But that clears up in about 5 days with or without treatment. Normally if the doctor isn't worried about it then I wouldn't worry. But you can always ask for a referral to an ENT doctor to have it checked more thoroughly. There's also the strong possibility that it's nothing at all.

Yes, everything this poster said. I used to be a registered nurse, so these are definite signs and symptoms of thrush. There is a swish a swallow prescription mouthwash the doc gave me for thrush a while ago. It's called Nystatin 100,000 units/ml oral susp. See if your doc can call it in.

Please, please, please think about laying off the {other stuff}. That has more tar in it than cigarettes do. People think it's benign, but it isn't.

Take care and please keep us updated.

^ I personally get the feeling that his throat got messed up because of the "other stuff". I mean you smoke that stuff without any filters so you are getting full blown chemicals bro.

I guess you try upping the PG content. since apparently its a pretty good anti-bacterial thingy magic stuff. I have read stories about people using high PG juices to deal with stuff like this.

and please if you are going to do le other stuff please consider atleast using a vaporizer for that. you quit smoking for health reasons atleast do the same with the other stuff.

I love how you guys have to say "other stuff" here

You REALLY need to go see your physician to rule out something serious. You probably shouldn't be getting medical advice from strangers on a forum. If it doesn't feel right, please see a doctor. Please take no offense in this, I just think you need a more educated diagnosis.

Please let us know how everything goes.

Take care,
Dani

wow wow people, its dangerous to do a diagnosis bases on history alone on what he says. As he said he already did a swab, took a course of antibiotics and had a 2nd opinion at another clinic, where they told him he is recovering.
Further more he is apparently stressed. Personally I would tell him to chill out, if they did a swab at the clinic, mean they know exactly what he got and gave him the medication accordingly. I would say that the redness remaining is some slight inflammation remnant after the infection.
What i would suggest is to take some vitamins to boost up your immune system vit C tablet [and or oranges or other fruit rich in vic c] and vit D, which you can get from cod liver oil capsule, and if you want something rich in antioxidant like green tea. That's all.
If really you dont feel well after a couple of week more just visit your doctor do another swab and, take your medication accordingly, because sometimes after an infection, due to the fact that your immune system taking a hit, you can develop a secondary infection.
But remember its dangerous to just ask him to take any drugs based on history alone.

Like I said to make sure you need another swab and test. But If you suspect candida infection in your throat just go with a course of nystatin oral suspension, gargle with it then swallow. Advantage of nystatin is that its not a systemic drug [ meaning it wont be absorbed in your body] and will only act on the alimentary tract. So the side effect of that if there is will be localized to your gastrointestinal tract only.
BUT I cant stress how much a diagnosis based on history alone in dangerous, up to you now.

As informed and experienced and reasonable as many of these responses seem, you're not going to do better than talking to your doctor. Get off the internet and make an appointment with an ENT specialist. Be sure to tell them everything - what snake oil (er, I mean 'natural') remedies you've tried, what other stuff you smoke, your vaping habits, all of it. Asking for medical advice on an e-cig forum is like asking a donkey for help with your legal troubles.
