Hello all and thank you in advance for all your support.

Recently I got hit by the rta bug. I started vaping last December.I am currently using a coolfire IV with the iSub tank or the kangertech gennitank (depending on my mood and such). Anyway, I have been reading about RTAs and would love to start getting into these, but I need some help deciding what to get.

What I need:
Something that is easy to build on (remember, I am a novice in these matters)
Something that will give me great tasting vapes (I am not really a cloud chaser)
Something within a reasonable budget (under $50)

Please share your advice!

I got a Kanger Subtank Mini and used the RBA deck as my practice unit. Once I got comfortable building (didn't take long), I got a Kayfun V4 clone (EHPro). A Taifun GT2 would be good for you as well as a Squape R (EHPro is a fine clone).Very user friendly and many tutorials. PBusardo vids helped me greatly. Just my 2Cents.

I think you should start with an RDA. They are easier, have better flavor, and there are far more options.
Get something like a wotofo troll or sapor, mutation x, or clone of any basic 3-post RDA with traditional side airflow (like a tugboat, tobh, or stillare). You will also need some kanthal, cotton, ceramic tweezers, and some micro screwdrivers.

I don't think you'll be able to build below .3 with your current mod, but that will be good enough until you decide to get a mech or more versatile regulated box.

The easiest thing I've built yet is the Nectar. I have a $9 clone from Focalecig. The only problem is the clone doesn't come with fill plugs so you can't lay it down. You could buy or make plugs though.

An easy and inexpensive authentic is the UD Aga t5. Triangle Vape had them for $10 last I knew. Its on the tall side, but is immaculately machined and an easy tank with good flavor.

The EHPro Mini Buddha is another inexpensive authentic that's easy to build and has great flavor.

I also love my HCigar HC Plus.

The Lemos are also inexpensive, fairly easy to build and have good flavor.

Clones you might like: Taifun GT2, Ataman II, Squape RS.

Thanks for your 2 cents! I have heard great things about the kayfun 4 and the Subtank (with the added bonus that if I totally bomb on my builds, I can always go back to OCC coils).

I don't know if I want to go the RDA route only because I want to be able to vape on the go and dripping seems like an added hassle.

I suggest the erlprinz.

Erlprinz

Any particular reason for your suggestion?

Dripping is kind of a hassle at times but drippers are easy to build and provide great building experience without worrying about leaking tanks and wicking technique. that being said I like tanks for when Im driving/laying in bed/working, they have their place. I would second the subtank mini because you can go back to coilheads if you want and if you screw up your build or wic you can fix it without draining, a huge plus when you first start out. There are several more tanks like that I just cant think of them all off the top of my head. Another great tank is the lemo drop. I loved that thing and it had great flavor.

I've gone through many high and low end tanks in my 2 years of vaping and I always go back to my
Erlkonigin for flavor. It's my most used tank. The Erlprinz is very similar to the authentic Erlkonigin, and is
made by the same company. There's an Erlkonigin thread around here somewhere...check that out.

Anxious to hear what you get.

Ehrlprinz is great but the wicking is not the easiest, and it can leak until you figure out how the pressure system works and how to fill it correctly.

It's fantastic for flavor though and the deck is easy. Still outstanding choice and the only reasonably priced 'premium' atomizer.
You could also go for an Aqua 2 and get access to both an RTA and a dripper.

Warning: regardless of device, and regardless of how clever you and your hands are, you will screw it all up horribly for a couple builds. Then you'll make one that functions and you will be delighted, but soon you will find that you screwed that up horribly as well. In short, you are going to suck so bad you won't even realize how much you suck for the first week.

At least that was my experience. Took me about two weeks get the hang of it, but at least now I can recognize why something doesn't work correctly and what symptoms point to which problems.

I think you underestimate my ability to screw up!

Then you need a Nectar. I don't think anyone can screw that up :). If you can get a coil between the posts, you're in business. Long piece of wick through the coil and shoved down the 2 holes to the bottom of the tank. Done!

RTA's !?

Dual coil !?.

Take your coolfire to the max with a dual coil RTA. You're going to need some thick wire such as 24 awg kanthal.
I use three different dual coil RTA's at present. Though i have other RTA's these are the only ones i am using these days.

Zephyrus, Billow V2 and Goliath.

You mentioned the Goblin. There are plenty of different opinions about any available RTA's on the market but they all work well. I've heard plenty of good things about the Goblin and i'd say, based on what i've heard, no different to anything i'm using.

All the RTA's i use are best, in my opinion, at 45 watts but work fine at 40 too. All depends on the guage of wire you want to use. So i'm using 24 awg kanthal at 45 watts. I'm thinking if you maybe got 25 or 26 guage wire then your 40 watt coolfire should be fine.
