I really need some help in buying the right e cigarette as I'm finding its so overwhelming. I bought my first e cig a week ago on my doctors advise and although I was pleasantly surprised as it was better than I expected I found it hard to get a throat hit from it. That was a Nicolite. 5 days ago I bought a Vype pen and it is definitely better and I've not had a real cigarette since but I still find it difficult to get the throat hit and it also tastes plasticy. After watching YouTube videos I ordered a V2 starter kit which came today but it is a big disappointment. Not much vapour and no throat hit at all which I can't understand as on many sites the V2 is classed as the best! Even the Nicolite is better than the V2!
Please can anyone help me with advice about which e cig would be right for me? I just want one that's simple to use, gives good vapour and throat hit, can be bought in the UK and is reasonably priced.

Hi Kaydi.

I can help you, and would like to help. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

What I can say, just reading what you have written, is I am not surprised by your post.
Products like Vype, V2 and Nicolites are close to a waste of time. Some are also very expensive... not a surprise either, as you have tried;
1) a useless tobacco company product
2) the most over-hyped, under-performing, over-priced brand in the UK and
2) a model which is now pre-historic.

I'll leave it to you to work out which is which. (Clue - they are in order... ) :)

Of the three you have tried, I would choose the Nicolite, despite it being a rubbish e-cig.

Have a look on here

Starter Kits

or here

Vape Escape

This is decent vaping kit.

Welcome Kaydi!

djsvapour is a very knowledgeable source over on that side of the Pond. I've never seen him steer anyone wrong....

The other recommendations are also quite good :) I have the iStick30 and an Aspire Nautilus (full-sized and Mini) and I enjoy them immensely.

I have other mods that I currently use - but especially for out and about, the iStick is GREAT!

Cheers!

Hi everyone, thanks so much for the advice which is surprisingly similar to advice I was given on another site. There I was advised to get the Aspire nautilus tank and battery combo which I have been unable to find on UK sites but I found the Aspire nautilus mini premium kit for £42. I almost ordered it but decided to come check here first and now I'm unsure which to go for as everyone here highly recommended the istick to go with the Aspire nautilus mini. I have found the Aspire nautilus mini for £20 and the istick for £30 so there's not much difference in price but you do get 5 extra coils in the premium kit. Please can you tell me which one is the best one to go for? If the istick is better then I will buy that one.

Get the istick. as i said in my previous post the istick gives you room to grow beyond the nautilus. You could get one of the different subtanks if you are interested in sub ohming down the road as well as it will support drippers and RTa (rebuildable systems). The coils shouldn't run you too much in a 5 pack to purchase seperately. Roughly 12 dollars or so. and they are well made last me 2 to 3 weeks typically.

I should also add, the istick is a pass through device so you can charge while vaping which a wonderful thing. nothing worse then having to bum a cigarette cause your battery is dead.

Hi everyone... First time to make a post here and also really new to ecigs(6weeks).I am in the US and was in the same position as Kaydi. After doing much research online and making some mistakes in purchasing, I have found what works for me at this time. The eleaf istick 30 and the Kangertech sub tank nano(with occ coils). This works! Barr none!! Great Vapor production. excellent flavor, and a superb build in a tank system. Any of Kangers new sub ohm tanks are excellent! Even for a new person. You just need to take a little time in learning some basic electronics(ohms, watts, voltage) and your using device capabilities. Just my take for now. Glad to have joined.

Gosh.. tough choice.

On the face of it, the iStick 30w and mini Nautilus would be my choice. The Aspire premium kit is a long and thin (eGo) battery, and the iStick is a little oblong box. Performance-wise, the 30w iStick is way in front too.
Some people still like the eGo batteries I guess.
You could get this for about £45 with free P&P. You'll need a discount code.

Aspire Premium Starter Kit [VE754-B1] - £49.95 : Vape Escape

The mini Nautilus is £18 (best price without trawling Amazon & eBay).
The coils are £9 (best price... etc.)
Charger "worth" about £4 (not a 99p one)

which adds up to £31. The battery has got to be good value at £14, I'd say.

Otherwise, you're going to need an iStick, the mini Nautilus and some coils, which is about
(£33 + £18 + £9) at Myepack, so more expensive. (Ouch, £60...)

ISTICK 30W

You could of course take the attitude than one battery is never going to be enough, and get either "set".

Please be careful where you shop. There are lots of stores that google will find who won't help you out if something goes wrong. Some won't even refund or replace, as they think they are above the law.

Good shops. Vape Escape, Myepack, Cloud9 vaping, iVapour, UKecigcabin - will sort you out in the event of problems.

The rest? Who knows. There are thousands of posts on forums about the other companies not looking after their customers.

I would go iStick, but you could get going on the cheaper Aspire kit and back it up with an individual iStick or other box mod or tube mod sometime in the future.

Please ask if anything doesn't make sense. :)

I've spent the best part of the day searching sites and the only place I can get these together is Amazon so I have in my basket an Aspire nautilus mini £16.98, an Istick 30w £32.79 and a pack of coils £8.68. All have 5 star reviews and all are free delivery . I can find no mention of a charger, the istick says it is the full kit but doesn't actually state a charger is included so will I need to buy this separately?

Hi Kaydi. First, I recommend either the Nautilus or the Subtank for the atomizer part, and the Istick for the battery part. The Istick does not need a charger, it has a micro USB port. IF you don't want to plug it into the computer, you can buy a wall USB charge port. You can find these locally at your nearest convenience store. The only other suggestion, is if you can afford it, get a second battery. That way, when one battery is charging, you have something to vape with. Also, if you cannot find your battery for any reason, you have a backup. It's highly suggested if you're quitting smoking to have a second battery. If you can't afford one right now, then it's ok.. just charge before bed and it should be charged by morning.

Yes, you can. But I prefer to go "untethered". The cable that comes with an Istick really isn't long enough to do that effectively. Also, the charge port is on the bottom, so you can't stand it upright while charging. It's a minor inconvenience, but enough for me to want a second battery just for those reasons.

I can always get a second battery later if like you I feel the need. I'm gonna need some e juice (although I do have a couple of bottles I bought recently). Again there are so many to choose from so any advice would be welcome.

If you're a smoker, then go with the tobacco based ejuice. KEep in mind, EJuice will not taste entirely like a real cigarette, so I advice not to set your goals that high. The advice most people will tell you, is go to a local vape store near you and try some of their juices. That's the one thing a mail order site cannot provide, is a variety of you to choose instantly. At a vape store, at least you can get an Idea what to look for online. Chances are, you won't go for the fruity juices from the start since it's too different from a regular cigarette. Some have a more nutty taste, some a more "caramel'ish" taste. I went from regular cigarettes to RY4, which is a sweet tobacco flavor. I went from RY4 to other caramel type flavors, then eventually to the fruit like flavors...but it did start with a tobacco based ejuice.

Thank you to everyone for your help and advice - I have just put the order in to Amazon for the nautilus mini, coils and the istick. I just wish I'd come here in the first place instead of spending so much on unsatisfactory e cigs! Ok the order came to £60 but I've just totalled up the amount I've spent on crap and was shocked to discover it's over £100! I forgot I'd bought a Ten motives rechargeable when I couldn't get Nicolite cartomisers one weekend and I've also ordered an Eversmoke starter kit which hasn't come yet but I just know it won't be any better than the V2. Believing the V2 was supposed to be the best I also ordered an extra one plus cartomisers which came this morning. What an idiot I am!
Anyone else wasted money buying crap before finding the right e cig? Come on make me feel better!

The full kit includes the charging cable. (Well, it should)...

I am surprised you can't buy all 3 products from Myepack, but then again, it won't be cheaper. 5 stars sounds fine... I take it reviews on Amazon are legitimate.
Having had your wallet emptied by the likes of V2 (and and those companies) you are doing the right thing. :)

The juice I bought is strawberry n cream! It's ok but I used it to refill my Nicolite cartomisers (yeah I know they're supposed to be thrown away but I watched a YouTube video where you put 20 drops in the silicon caps that they come fitted with and then put the cartomiser into the juice in the cap and it sucks it up, works too) and as you've all said the Nicolite is pretty crap so it will be better when I get my Amazon order. I think though I will buy tobacco flavour next.
