I got my first rta today and it's the hellvape md...I use the 1.2coil now first time ever in rta and when I vape I hear a pop sound for one time in every puff I guess cause of the chamber that is like that the sound is very bassy...anyways the thing is I can't find recommended wattage for the coils....I feel like the 1.2 need more than 15 watt for me but isn't that high????I would like to know what others use

Update...keeps popping and flooding and I stuffed a looooooot of cotton like I even twist it to make it tighter and then I cut it like 2cm offset of each side and stuff it in xD like veeeery tight and now it's better but i will check on it....I use cotton bacon prime....could it be cotton the problem? Maybe this is wayyyy to absorbing and for my case it's not good? Other Cotton's are not like bacon prime? Is this like the most ubsorbing? Cause the coil is very thin and u cant pass through thicker cotton....I think they should put 3mm coil in there....anyyyways wish me luck :D

The correct wattage is what is right for you as an individual. Start low and increase the power until you are vape happy.

I increased wattage and the popping sound stopped I am at 17 I was just wondering cause seemed a lot for 1.2coil but ok...also btw the taste is nice but if I smell the thingy that we vape from the drip tip? I forgot the word :D if I smell this smells like a burned cotton I think xD anyways I will figured it out I guess first time I will do many mistakes and I will discover later hahahaha tyvm booooomy

Popping and spitting is usually indicative of an over-saturated coil, so resolving it with a power increase makes sense.
An atomizer is a pretty simple device with only a few variables. Understand those variables and apply some logic, testing and experience to resolve any problems.

1.2ohm coil, you could get away with 25watts on that even. This is still wattage on the low side. I'm currently vaping .20ohm on a DL rta setup at 90watts and it works like a charm. It's only a slightly warm ish vape with the airflow wide open. So dont be overly concerned about your wattage as long as you dont go high enough to roast your cotton, which you will certainly know if you do. That taste is unforgettable.

The amount of watts any coil needs is variable based on the mass of the coil and the coil wire itself.

Ni-80 wire heats up fast, and requires less power for the same effect than, say, Kanthal. (Which is why many mech users use Ni-80 wire..)

You can also create a 1.2 ohm coil out of triple core fused Clapton wire, or you can make the same out of single round... between the two the mass of the triple core fused Clapton wire will take more power to heat than the single round wire, even if you use the same wire material *kanthal, ni-80 or stainless steel...

I'm a RL vaper using what is currently ohming out at .5 ohms (420 SS fused clapton wire).. but I'm vaping it at 19 watts and getting a perfect vape... your wattage is going to depend almost entirely on the build itself... :) (coupled with personal preference)

This is all stuff you learn as you experiment more with building...

What tank u use for restricted lung????
BTW I just stuffed a lot of cotton into hellvape md....I am using bacon cotton prime and I feel like this is ridiculously obsorbing and I twist it and stuff a lot in there....or maybe this tank creates veeery high vacuum no matter what I do with airflow....anyways now I made kanthal 28awg 5wraps 3mm 1.25ohm and I vape it at 17watt but when I go outside house in summer I need to pump the watt to 22 or 23....isn't that crazy for a thin with like this???? I don't get burned taste....is it cause my cotton is always wet Soo I can go soon high???? This hellvape md is soooo wierd really xD I never had any leak like people say but i rewicked like 10 times yesterday my first day with it just to make it stop get over saturated

I'm currently using the coppervape Hussar Project X clone, but have a LOT of RTA's (lol)... never tried hellvape though, can't give much specific advice on it...

I don't know why you would be flooding unless your orings just need checked...

I checked everything oring and all the internet xD but ok really I know I will figure it out even tho I dont have leaks but imagine I stuff a looooot of cotton into the ports like I push it and make it like a rock and I never get dry hit and it's wierd af...hahahaha i haven't tried other Cotton's and I will go buy some....I feel like this cotton prime it's really not joking when it sais it's absorbing 30% more than normal....I twist it I stuff it into coil I push into the Wick holes and still juice flow xD 66% vg and I don't puff hard xD I think it's hard rta for a begginer but ok I will figure it out haahhaha

It's weird using your first RTA after you are so used to using a drop-in coil tank. I found my wattage went up slightly with an RTA, and so did my juice consumption - because I loved using it so damn much :D

If you got rid of the popping sound by using more cotton - perfect. If you aren't getting any dry hits despite using more cotton? even more perfect  I use Cotton bacon prime, and yep it's fantastic wicking material.

Don't worry about trying to match your coil resistance with a certain wattage. Unlike drop-in tank coils, there's no set correct wattage for each coil in an RTA. It all comes down to what you yourself like best. And that can change with tighter or looser wicking, ejuice ratios and so on. Start low with each new build, and work your way up until you find your happy place.

It looks to me like you are doing perfectly fine with your first RTA

Ni80 has a higher mass and worse heat flux ratio compared to Kanthal.
So it needs slightly more wattage to heat up an equal length of wire of the same gauge. But it's easier for some mech users to reach the desired resistance range of one's coil with Ni80 due to its lower resistance.
