Kate ---the problem with Vanilla is the extration uses alcohol which just does not give a flavorful vape. I have no idea what Happy has here, but I can say there is no alcohol masking the Vanilla flavor and it is a bold vanilla that gives an excellent throat hit at zero nic------so it really is the Holy Grail.

Sun

I wonder if using vanilla flavored vodka (such as Absolute vanilla) as the grain alcohol used in mixing recipes would give a good flavor and or throat hit?

Cheers

Croo--You are not going to taste any of the vanilla for sure in the actual Absolute alcohol. You will get a little better throat, but not the flavor or type of hit as this Vanilla Custard gives.

honestly Sun, I'd love to know this too ( said the DIY challenged lol)

Razor---this Vanilla custard you get from Happy Vapor is e-liquid, not just flavoring. I vape it straight out of the bottle with no mixing. If you were using nicotine you would just cut unflavored nic juice to the level you like with it.

Hope that helps and I have to say again, that this Vanilla blew me away ------

Hi Sun,

I bought the Vanilla Custard Capella flavor from Happy Vapor, it's definitely not an e-liquid. Jack does make some 0-nic eliquids, but I don't see any Vanilla Custard e-liquid on his site. This is what I ordered:

Happy Vaper - Canadian Quality Electronic Cigarette/Personal Vaporizers and DIY Smoke Liquid

You definately don't want to vape that straight. I put 10 drops into a 3ml bottle of unflavored and it was very strong. After chatting with Jack he recommended starting with 1-2 drops per 3ml bottle and upping it from there if necessary.

Do you have a link to the product from Happy Vapor that you ordered?

Sun – maybe I’m looking at, and ordered, the wrong stuff. However the only Vanilla Custard I see on the Happy Vaper site is on the Flavourings page and in the descriptions it says “These are concentrated flavourings! Not to be vaped alone.”

Or am I way off base and you are talking about something completely different?

Phydough---What I got from him I vaped straight---I thing the Vanilla Custard is new and totally different than his other flavors.

Both. to me it's the "comfort food" of e-juices. I love it by itself (in unflavored nic juice or sometimes just straight vg), but also add mix it with other juices. It's one of those flavors that enhances the flavor of everything! it has just a touch of cinnamon flavor so it goes well with fruit flavors, but also goes well with sweet flavors like cheesecake/praline/caramel/choc/ry4.

Hey guys!

Sorry it took so long for me to respond to this!

First of all, thank you all so much for the interest in the Vanilla Custard! It is a great flavouring and Happy Vaper is honoured to be able to offer it as the first of our custom Capella flavours!!!

I have confirmed with Capella's labs that this flavouring is PG based (98% PG, alcohol and water). As Sun indicated, I think that would classify it as an e-liquid. Therefore, some may choose to use it as if it were no-nic e-liquid. I do find it quite intense (but very tasty) and vaping it straight does tend to remain in the atty for a while. I would recommend dedicating an atty to it if you plan to vape it straight. It produces great vapour and throat hit, as Sun indicated, without needing to add any nicotine or VG.

Personally, I wouldn't vape it straight on a regular basis (I have vaped it straight quite a bit and will probably do so again in the near future). I feel the less flavouring and colouring the better (as flavouring and colouring are the real unknowns for me, with respect to what I inhale when I vape). I'm totally cool with PG, pretty cool with VG and nicotine but don't know what to think about the flavouring chemicals.

I do hope you all enjoy it and we hope to offer some more awesome Capella flavours for Happy Vapers in the near future.

Thanks so much to Sun for trying it out and spreading the word about how much he enjoys it!

All the best and Happy Vaping!
Jack

Hi Jack,

From my limited experimentation it appears that I will need about 50% Vanilla Custard to achieve the taste I want. That only yields 18mg liquid when using 36mg unflavored as a base. My preference is 24-36mg.

What about making a double-strength version of Vanilla, so that it would cut the necessary percentage of flavoring in half? Just leave out some of the PG and package it in a smaller bottle. Or, keep the same bottle size, list it at 90-95% higher price.
