What's up everyone, I'm new here and have been looking to get a kit. I'm coming from cigarettes, cloves, pipe tobacco, and hookahs. I'm thinking this may be a great alternative to them all but I'm having trouble deciding on a kit.

Is this kit worth it?

Joye ego starter kit black on Sale

Or is the extended battery one better at 900 mAh?

Simple eGo Starter Kit 900mah

It's a $10 difference between the two kits and it seems to be the only thing separating the two, aside from the first kit having a USB battery option (is that worth it?).

My second question is, how much nicotine do I need to order if I'm coming from half a pack a day to an extreme day where I almost smoke a full pack a day.

And the last question is, are the 4x 3mL samples worth it for <$10?

4x 3mL Sample Pack

They seem to have some pretty fun flavors, but once again, I have no idea what nicotine concentration I should go with. Do you think it's possible I could even go with zero mg?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Sorry last question, is this worth it for the <$5? It looks pretty awesome.

The price looks reasonable, but I prefer the kgo kit. I got mine at elite vaporworks with boge cartos and juice. Bigger batteries too.

BTW, welcome. Good luck whatever you get.

Edit-saw the other questions.

I would get both 24 and 18 if I were you. Starting stronger is better IMO if it gives you the extra help to stay with it. For juice...there are so many out there, I can't say. I would look at vaporgod for a sample pack and also ecbblends. 3ml samples are a bit small if you ask me. I am not super picky so I get 10ml samples...but 5 is pretty normal.

Another edit. Shop around. that drip tip put me over the edge. It's $2 or so higher than I have seen most places. Lots of good vendors right here, not saying that one isn't...but give a look.

How about middle of the road price wise, and more battery life?

Elite Vaporworks KGO Starter Kit with Boge LR Cartomizers - KGO

This KGO kit comes with EMPTY cartomizers, so you can fill them with whatever flavor you want.
Cartomizers will hold more juice than atomizers. Atomizers are good for tasting flavors, but once you know you have a flavor you like, putting it in a cartomizer will keep you from having to constantly refill.

Stay away from the eGo atomizers and cartridges as they are problematic with many- leaking and wicking issues. Go either with cartos or clearomizers. On the Kgo the 1.7 Smok Tech XL single coils cartos are perfect- holds 1.8 ml of juice. Kgo is a far more powerful battery than the Ego and is a true 3.7 volts. Afterwards, if you wish, afetr you get the hang of vaping you can move up to tanks or clearomizers.

I'm thinking of using atomizers instead of cartomizers. Is there any reason to choose one over the other? Do you have a link to the kgo kit?

Hrm, is it a user thing or is it a manufacturer error? If they really do leak and are problematic, I may have to go with the kGo that other members are suggesting.

Also, are the kgo parts compatible with 510 parts?

Yes the Kgo is a 510 but understand vendors also sell adapters for PVs...808 to 510, 510 to 808. Regarding the eGo "tank" systems ( atomizer+ cartridge) it's a poorly designed system and some do get it to work after lots of fiddling but most move up to cartos or clearomizers. There's also the eGo Twist which is variable voltage. If you bought the Twist kit it would cost about $60?

If finances are an issue there's also the E-Power which is also true 3.7 volts for $57.50 + free shipping. Extra batteries for the eGo or Kgo are $18 each whereas extras batts for E-Power are 2 for $10. Also you get a free bottle of juice so all in all a good price IMO.

haha, there are so many choices.
Oh don't I know it
Should I go with automatic voltage or variable voltage?
It would be a choice between vv or set voltage- how much do you smoke and what brand?
Variable voltage means you can turn the voltage up or down according to your juices, likes and dislikes.

haha, there are so many choices.

Okay, I got another question.

Should I go with automatic voltage or variable voltage?

So you're a light smoker. The Twist is VV BUT if you don't mind a tube mod variable voltage here's a GREAT price for a starter kit:
Apollo VTube Kit
After discount code it's about $55.00
Promotion: You can use code 'vtube30' to get 30% discount while our vtube stock lasts.
Also the Kgo and Twist are manual which means you push a button to activate- if you want or need a stronger vape just hold the button down longer.
I would prolly recommend the Twist if you can afford it. Don't own one but great reviews on it. I'm waiting for a price drop :D

I smoke mostly cloves. Once in a while, I'll break out the pipe tobacco.

So it looks like the popular choice is the kGo that other members have posted, but are there any kits with variable settings? I like to be in control, which is probably why I thought the atomizer would be a good first choice.

Vivi Nova is on my short list of gadgets to try! Can't wait to play with one.

I used the 2.4 ohm head for a few days and switched to the 1.8 yesterday. Sadly I popped that one sometime this morning. Didn't turn the bat off when I was out and about. My Bad.

No leaks nice flavor and nice vape. Had to fill it 2 times yesterday which is a great improvement. So I would recommend it.

Okay, I got another question.

Should I go with automatic voltage or variable voltage?

Variable voltage will allow you to warm the coil of the atomizer/cartomizer to whatever temperature you want. With fixed voltage, coil temperature is dictated by the voltage of the device and the resistance of the coil.

Ok, why VV?? How does it help? By the way...love your picture--that's my son's favorite movie!

It's the Goldilocks effect. Just as Goldilocks wanted to optimize her porridge temperature, chair size, and bed hardness, with VV you can adjust the voltage to produce just the right amount of heat at the (single) coil for a wide variety of juices, or to meet the requirements of different atomizers that might have varying rates of juice delivery to the coil. For example, a Joyetech C-type atomizer might want a different wattage than a single-coil cartomizer in DCT tank, coil resistances being equal.

In short, variable voltage just lets you dial in a better vape. Additionally, you could use a single coil 3.0 ohm cartomizer on a Twist to extend the battery life by lowering the amp draw, something you cannot do with a fixed-voltage device.

They look good too. Nice size for out and about, but not the end-all and be-all device. Just a very nice addition to one's "arsenal" IMO.

Variable voltage lets you use 1 resistance and adjust the voltage to suit your taste. Like a cooler vape, turn it down. Want something warmer, turn it up. You don't have to use low resistance or high resistance or anything but 3ohm cartos to vape from 5 to 12 watts. This is the Vtube. You can adjust the voltage from 3 to 6 volts. The diameter is the same as a nickel. It's much smaller than the pictures look and takes an 18650 sized battery, included in the kit with a charger. You can get about 14 hours on one battery charge. This is the chrome version and costs $60 shipped with battery and charger and a 30 day money-back guarantee and a one year warranty.

One variable voltage option out of many, but an unusually good one IMO:

THE EGO TWIST IS A GAME CHANGER - YouTube[/URL] - Grimm Green

I also like the Apollo SS VTube (above), the ProVari V2, and the far less-proven Smoktech VMax.

There's also a variable wattage device called the Darwin that is very nice.

I've always thought that variable voltage is the best way to get the best possible vaping experience so that it will be less likely that the vaper in question will be unsatisfied with the experience and return to cigarettes. You can get a very good vape going with constant voltage, but to "turn it up or down" you'd have to change attachments.

The Twist costs about $22 for a 650mah, and you'd need at least two of them.
