I really like this battery, as it has enough discharge rate to keep up with LR atomizers and has a protection circuit to boot. I test fit one in the Precise when designing it too:

OK back to that Batts, I too like that Batt very much, Problem seems however that Batts are getting better and better every week, at least they have been since I started vaping. David you need to meet the maker and designer @ AW, so you can design things months in advance to the power sources and chemistry's that are coming down the road. Wouldnt that be an interesting situation , I think a meeting needs to be set up, AW let me introduce you to forced fuel, whats everyone think about that situation ???

AW 18650 Protected 2600 mAh Rechargeable Lithium Battery - New Version or AW 18650 1600 mAh.
Is there any differences in the two other than mAh?
I had read someplace the the orange one that Brock has shown act more like higher voltage is this true?
anyhoo I don`t comprehend all the techno stuff and could read it till I die and not understand it. I have been looking at these different batteries all last night after ordering 2 Precise`s and this afternoon and do not get it.
I am not concerned about protected or not
Maybe some pros V cons if there are any.

well the AW guys are in Hong Kong...that'd take David from the shop for far too long..

otherwise really there's no real reason to use high drains when you're taliking 18650 size... sizes smaller than that yeah...but in the 18650 size the sheer mAh on them is enough to support the amp draw of an atty at 3.7V (even the LR atties) where in the 16340 and 14500 size there really isn't without going high drain

ok here ya go..the most demanding atty is the 1.5Ω LR atty at 3.7V at an amp draw of about 2.47A... so we're shooting for a max drain rate of higher than that on the battery...

the AW 2600.. has a max drain rate of 5.2A...
the high drain has a max drain of 16A...

so both of them will more than provide for the amp draw..

so now it comes down to runtime...
the rough math suggests that
the AW 2600 should last about 63 minutes continuous...
the IMR high drain should last about 38 minutes continuous...

and without the PCB protection in the high drain it's possible to overdrain the battery to the point where it wont take or hold a charge..
upside it's safer chemistry than Li-Ion

so.... how does one overdrain a battery? and is safer chemistry better than pcb?

i'm a dumb as a board when it comes to figuring this stuff out. any help is greatly appreciated.

though you could use imr 18650s if you are interested in the safer batt chem if safety is an issue for you.

- "Do not short circuit ( will release tremendous current )"
but it says they will not vent or explode.

on li-Ion batteries when the voltage on the battery gets to a certain low point the PCB shuts it off...

the high drain doesnt have that so you wouldn't run them til they're dead...you'd switch them out when the vapor gets weak..

is safe chemistry better than PCB...that's more a personal prefference what you're comfortable with kind of thing...I think so..
