It could - one thing about all hardware is that it needs to be cleaned (read, soaked in PGA/VODKA, put in an ultrasonic cleaner, or at a bare minimum - soaked in water and rinsed). More often than not there is residual machine old left in the devices.
The other thing is that the stock heads from all the Chinese manufacturers are notoriously inconstant... sometimes they require some minor tweaking to ensure the coils are properly spaced out (no hot spots). Sometimes no ammt of tweaking will fix them.
The best case scenario is rip the stock coil out, clean it, and wrap your own microcoil for that PT2... but that takes materials and practice... not entirely sure where you are at with regard to having wrapped coils before?
