Nothing wrong with liking a DNA mod, I am anxious to get my hands on the think vape finder dna 167 in either the gun metal or copper. It is great to have options, just wanted to point out an option to the dna that I also enjoy. Not that what I enjoy will be for everyone but it might be for some.Definitely, just my personal preference. Like I said I'm not bashing, I've not even tried it, I was asking about this mod bc I'm looking for a beater and I'd been told this one has the ability to input a TFR range. TCR setting/adjustments probably works well enough for most people but my experience w/ it was inconsistent, hence me looking for a mod that I can just input the entire range of electrical resistivity.
I may be stuck with dna for that but id figured by now there'd be other boards that did it. (plus I was told this was one of them) not even a dna fanboy, or even think their chips are designed well, really... if there is a board that does tc better I'll gladly try it... The menu system is clumsy, I've had inductors fall off 4 times on 4 boards, and like I said the default/factory material/wire type settings on all my dna boards were wrong and I had to delete and replace them before tc will work properly.
That's exactly what I thought, dudes posts are extremely hard to follow & lack any kind of punctuation. reads like a train wreck.
My gut tells me you would enjoy a dna mod more, you seem to have the technical mind to get the most out of it. The FSK mods are more of a mod for those who want to tinker a little, not a lot.
The main reason I want the Finder 167 is I have heard it already comes set up to go out of the box, one of the main reasons I bought a Triade DNA200. I like to get into the tech as well but escribe is way too involved for me when it is not setup in advanced. The first dna200 mods that required a lot of user setup to get it working properly all the way down to the batteries, that's way more than I personally want to do.
I get why escribe is great for so many though, a lot of customization to really make it personal to the end user. That is great for some and not so great for others, same thing with the FSK mods.
Not sure which dna mods you have but have you thought about the SMY SDNA75? I really like that mod and it can be picked up in the $40 range. I also really like my Hcigar VT75 but the 510 base needs to be cleaned out from time to time and the battery life can be poor for a 26650 mod. Aside from that though the VT75 is really well built and can be had for about $50 which Is a real fair price.
