18650 Battery Buying Guide for Vapor Users – Wake and Vape Blog

Found an excellent article, kind of old but there is some useful advice here.

I think that the Samsung 25r is technically still king as far as performance in drawing amps is concerned. Somebody correct me if I am wrong but if the hg2 and the 25r were to both draw 20a continuously wouldn't the 25r stay cooler? I know the hg2 and 25r are both rated 20a but say you turned the hohm wrecker to 171w... would you be more confident doing 171w with the 25r or the hg2? Which batteries after firing at 171w would keep the mod cooler?

Thanks and as you can see I haven't decided yet lol

I'm no expert but the hg2 I would tend to keep 120w or lower just for peace of mind...but I could be totally wrong, I mean one dude was running them at 200w on another forum but that was 3 in a RX200.

They might be fine at max wattage in the Holm Wrecker....but I personally would not chain vape em...idk, where Mooch at lol!?

Well, they're both 20 amp batteries, meaning that 171w is too much for them. The Sony vtc5a is about the best there is at the moment, and two of them are good for about 150w. For the full 171w you should really go for 30 amp batteries.

What would you say is safe for the HE2's I bought out of curiosity? I usually run in temp mode.

So all the 20a 18650s shouldn't be pushed past 120w... good to know. Don't think even in TC mode i will go past 100w anyway.

If you had to choose between the 25rs or the he4s what would you pick? They are both 2500 mah but which will be more durable and be able to hold a good charge after months of using daily. Both the 25r and he4 are a dollar cheaper than the hg2 , trying to weigh my options here.

Thanks

Think HE4 & 25rs are comparable. I get HE4s over HG2 but usually because HG2 are usually double the cost and think they might surge better.

Yea think I'm going to go with the 25rs... the hg2s however are just one dollar more a piece(5.00)on illumn if anyones interested. I currently alternate between a pair of vtc5s and a pair of 25rs in my xcube2 and I'm happy with the battery life of the 25r. Seems about the same as the vtc5. Also if I was to get near the 120w limit of the 20a rated batteries the 25rs should stay cooler and be safer if I were to push the envelope, after looking at mooch's battery table seems I should just stay with the sammys. Get two more pairs to marry with the Hohm wrecker and just stop overthinking this lol. I did learn alot about 18650s though the past 2 days thanks to you guys and Mooch's battery test table helped tremendously as well making a final decision =)

In my experience the 25r and the he4 are fairly equal.

Just got it, have the batteries charging up now...gonna be a couple hours, first impression is it has a nice build though, but they could have done better on the paint job, battery door has paint chips on the side and one on the top part near the edge, for the price I can't complain, just hope the rest holds up paint wise(My RX200 isn't so lucky even with my gentle only inside handling...).

The 510 for sure looks better then on my RX200/Evic Mini, battery contacts seem like they need to break in, a tad crunchy. Buttons are super nice and clicky.

Man this thing is light, loving that.

Is that a peel off screen protector tho? I am guessing so since it looks like it and the screen looks scratched(Probably the plastic protector).

Earlier this morning I go onto illumn.com to buy two pairs of 25rs and they are back ordered. So after all that research and going back and forth lol decided to get the hg2s since I could not buy the 25rs from illumn. They were 5 dollars a piece for the hg2s which I believe is a decent price. Might be for the best as I already have 3 pairs of 25rs that are all 8-10 months old I can just rewrap them at some point. After extensively reading the reviews I think the hg2s will probably be better suited for me anyway because I think the highest wattage I've ever actually vaped is probably like 80w. But they can be pushed as high as 120w as we learned yesterday since they are still 20a batteries.

Also I too got my Hohm Wrecker in the mail today. Haven't opened the package yet but I'm about to unbox it. What nice packaging loving the orange plastic mailer everything came in... What's in your cube? Orange is the new pack!

Put up some pics tommorrow of the cut silver g2, was also wanting to do a side by side comparsion between the original sig 150 and the G2 see If they are the same size etc.
