Thanks Jesem. Yeah, that's what I was thinking also, my paint is literally coming off in my hand as I use this mod now. Depressing, to say the least. I will take it all apart beforehand.
I've got a couple of these things now... I just think of it as a small chore to keep what is otherwise a great mod going. I leave mine unfinished because I'm unsure what kind of finish I could apply that would actually last.

Thank You mjag for the offer, I've bought so much vape gear this month that it will be a month or two before I can spend more, I really screwed the pooch this month buying Siren's since Digiflavor stopped production on them and I only had one (which I had on top of my Black Slice running NiCr TC.

Thanks Ken. When I was thinking of buying my first Hohmtech device I was so interested in what it would do in NiCr/Kanthal TC that I just skimmed over all the rest of the data, so I missed that one. I'll Bookmark this so I'll have it, as I forget parts of things I read all the time.

More confirmation that makes me re-think my initial decision on buying a dna mod just for comparison purposes. All I would need is some SS316, and that looks like the cheapest way out for me at this point in time. I could set one Siren up in SS mode, and one up in my NiCr or Kanthal mode with the same # of wraps (either 6 or 8), wire gauge (prolly 28 gauge would be the simplest for this application), and coil dia. (3mm in this case) and that would be not Exactly the same, but close enough for what I'm doing here. Is my thinking correct, or did I miss something ?
That sounds like a plan. For SS TC I like to space my coils instead of contact coils, usually get better TC results.

I think lightning vapes is having a 25% sale this weekend, not my favorite SS wire but really not bad for TC.

The Slice I used the tool to get a brushed finish on is darkening it seems. I really like it that way though, I am glad I didn't try and apply a clear coat. Just every once in a while I have to use a little cleaner on the top from condensation from tanks. Maybe it is still the same color but for some reason it seems greyer to me. Really tempted to do another Slice but this time remove all the paint and give it a real good polish.

This bare with brushed finish is about tied with my red Slice for my favorite.

This has been interesting. First, I started with my wife's Finger Nail Polish Remover, which was Acetone Based. I took a cotton ball and soaked it, then put a liberal amount on the Battery Door (outside only) and let it just sit there and soak for however long it took to evaporate, then repeated, (4) times rubbing Hard each time, and nothing. I cleaned the door with soap and water, dried it. Second, I took some "Goo Gone" (that's all I had) and tried it, also letting it soak till it evaporated (it does Great on adhesives so I thought, why not) and did that (4) more times with another cotton ball rubbing Hard each time, and nothing (the cotton ball was as white as the driven snow afterwards). Third, I called my wife who was in town shopping and asked her to pick me up a pint of Paint Thinner with mineral spirits. When she got home I went outside and took a fresh cotton ball and soaked it with the Paint Thinner and applied a liberal amount to the battery door and let it soak till the Paint Thinner evaporated, I did this (4) more times rubbing Hard each time, Nothing at all, and still a clean cotton ball. Are You Kidding me ?? Monday I am going to get some Paint Stripper to try that, and see what happens. Before I started I was having little Black paint chips falling OFF my Slice into my hand, As I Vaped no less. We will see how Monday goes, can't be any more surprising than today. I thought ya'll might be interested in what was going on with my Black Slice's Paint woe's.

The only thing I found that actually worked was paint stripper. If I remember, I think mjag talked about using a sanding attachment he got at Harbor Freight... as you can see, his came out great.

I did the sanding thing on my Presa 100 battery door (the rest was some plastic I think), then after I was all done I got a wrap from Vaporskinz (I think that was the name) and wrapped the whole thing in Black Leather. It came out pretty good. I'm thinking of doing that to my Slice when I'm done getting this crappy paint off, but not sure yet what I'm finally gonna do.

I just looked at my pic again and it is darker then the actual mod, must have been the lighting. I will try and take another pic tomorrow if we get home in time next to a SS mod to show the difference.

Here is a pic next to a polished stainless steel VT75 to show the color difference. Definitely grey and sort of industrial looking, love it.

Edit: I do like my VT75 and it looks great with 30mm tanks. I was going to take it on the road with me this morning but the battery is low. That is my biggest complaint with it, it burns through batteries too quick.

Yes, "Industrial" is a Perfect word. That looks Really Good mjag. Now to get this nasty paint Off of mine, I could be very happy with it looking just like yours.

That's the exact opposite of what I have come to know 26650 mods to be known for, Battery Life. That's why I have bought 26650 mods in the first place, at my low wattage's I depend on (and enjoy) Loooong Battery life. I'm sorry to hear that about yours mjag, as that VT75 setup looks Killer, Heii, Both setups look Killer.

Battery, build, power, mL/day?

Today I will order some iJoy 4200mAh (15€), but if this is still not OK for 1 day of usage I will just stick to Samsung 25R that are waiting on the shelve. If I carry spare battery it doesn't really matter if I change them at 3 or 5 o'clock in the afternoon.

BTW, since usually I'm running my mods at 30W (40W preheat) and then TC limits power under 20W, does it make sense to buy 30A battery? I'm looking at some Liitokala 5000mAh reviews and seems they should work great with these power demands.

Blue slice here. Paint is looking rough after a couple months. Got misfires this week, chip board not secure at the top.

Made a wedge to brace the board and it fires like new.

The Slice is such a Fantastic TC experience, but it's a shame that the implementation let's it down so badly. I only TC NiCr and Kanthal in mine and just love this thing. For what it does, I don't think it can be beat, but for how they decided to house that Great chip leaves me scratching my head an awful lot.

Basen 26650, dual parallel claptons with .28g core, 0.35 ohms running that day at 55 watts in power mode. Filled up my Ohmega Beast 30mm you see in the pic. I believe it holds about 10mls but maybe went through half that and my battery was around 30%. Slice you see in that same picture had a battery change right around the same time and firing hotter but still had more battery life left.

With your builds you should be fine, I made it through a day with my VT75 but I was alternating with the Slice.

If I remember correctly you know how to set up the case thermals and battery. If you don't and want an escribe file for the VT75 then let me know and I can email it to you.

The battery life is still good compared to single 18650 mods, it just lacks compared to my other 26650 mods. I sort of already have it in my head how long a 26650 mod will last me when on the road, the VT75 is probably the only one that throws that # off.

If I didn't have other 26650 mods that were more efficient then I would be happy with the VT75's battery life.
