Holy Flinkering Snit!

That is the Last Thing I would Want if I was the Owner of RTS.

Having the Media Descend on My Company and My Family. Sticking Microphones and Cameras into Peoples Faces, looking for Something they can Subvert and Twist into a 12 Second Sound Bite.

Fox Headlines Flash: Is RTS a Money Laundering Company or do they Just Sell tobacco to Minors? News at 11:00

"They are not saying it is illegal to sell flavored nicotine. They are saying I am guilty of lying to a federal agent because I said we do not sell it which is true. The department of homeland security does not know the difference between flavored and concentrated flavorless nicotine. There were around 20 other questions asked about the production of pure nicotine being a risk to the country because it is a poison."

Funny, nicotine extraction has been going on for years to create all of those nicotine patches, gums, and such!

So ... The DHS considers Pure Nicotine to be a risk to the country
Very interesting

I've said this on another thread but will post it here fyi. Nicotine is NOT on Homeland Security's list of "chemicals of interest."

http://www.dhs.gov/xlibrary/assets/chemsec_appendixa-chemicalofinterestlist.pdf

So I'm curious as to the purpose of the visit(s). The only thing I've been able to think of is that perhaps one or more of the facilities may have been found not to be in compliance with whatever regulations cover manufacturing/processing labs... If so, this may be the start of a federal crackdown (to the letter of the law) of e-juice manufacturing/processing labs (prior to deeming regulations).

But the fact remains: a vendor of e-liquid has been visited and questioned (and evidently threatened) by agents of Homeland Security. Whatever happens as a result, this is not good and needs to be monitored.

Is it a "fact" or a claim being made on an internet forum that has not been verified by anyone else? I'm not saying he is lying, but how can his story be verified?

The PA facility is a back up lab for them. They also have one in Charlotte. Randy stated that the agent showed his badge but would not let him make a copy of the numbers or of the warrant.

He also stated that he was not the only one that this happened to and that another ECF vendor went through the same thing.

His post on 7/2011 stated "We subcontract out the extraction to a laboratory in Charlotte, NC and have another lab for back-up in Philadelphia, PA," but in a later post on 3/2012 he said his nicotine "is extracted in Philadelphia using North Carolina Tobacco."
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...nicotine-liquid-made-usa-104.html#post5487190 I didn't see the post stating he started using the Charlotte lab again. If I missed it I stand corrected. :)

Who is the "other ECF vendor" and why haven't they verified what happened?

There's that big word "if". How could anyone be guilty of breaking a law IF it may become illegal?

That was exactly what I said in the RTS thread. I wondered if someone did not falsely accuse them of doing something that they are not. Until I saw the other thread posted by Bill Godshall. here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...regulation-proposed-approved.html#post9950587

The owner did not say that they took anything at all with them. But, he did mention turning down a buy out offer from BT.

See, the plot thickens.

I absolutely agree that until his story is clarified and verified, this discussion is pure speculation. And I applaud your stepping in with words of caution! I for one needed that!

In the meantime, however, I've learned quite a bit about DHS and how it operates! Fascinating...

This is just my opinion. If no law has been broken, I feel I can say what ever I want.

"Did you have a sugary drink over 16 oz today"?

I am so done with the talking heads (government) deciding that we Americans are too stupid to make our own decisions about our own lives.

The problem with this is we now have almost or maybe over 50% of the voters in this country that are fine with the government running their lives.
