The problem with this is we now have almost or maybe over 50% of the voters in this country that are fine with the government running their lives.

:blink::glare::facepalm:

It's scary because the ones that are fine with it have said such things as "If you haven't done anything illegal, you have nothing to worry about", and we all know how true that statement is. /sarcasm

Not only fine, they have made it so. There are so many out there that think that the government protects us and look at things through rose colored glasses that it is mind blowing.

Right. Just amazing how many people out there still actually believe that statement

And I am starting to wish that I lived in another country lol

I love my country, just not crazy about the direction the government is taking. I vote, but the truth is we are given a choice between money grubbing power mad fools, and money grubbing power mad fools.

I love this country too but am not happy about having all of my rights stripped away from me little by little. We used to be the land of the free but that is not so much true anymore is my point.

No the problem is worse than that. 50 % of voters are fine with the government running their lives. 83 % of all Americans don't care if the government runs their life. My poli sci professor once broke it down among all Americans elligible to vote and registered voters that actually vote the number runs at about 17 %. The other 83 % can't be bothered to at least mark a box once or twice a year. Freedom is like a muscle, Don't use it you lose it.

I don't like the idea of being forced to live according to what someone else deems is best either. Some people just have to force their will upon everyone else, sadly it is the very people you don't want in power that seek power.

You already are living in a different country. This one is on a slow decent into a dictatorship (thanks to no term limits) by an all knowing and powerful government. It is becoming a government versus the people (at least for the ones still willing to think for themselves) instead of for the people.

My Google Fu is failing me...I can't find any information that sheds light on the reasoning behind all of this DHS at RTS nonsense. Has anyone found anything else yet? I mean the rest of this discussion is interesting, but what the heck is going on exactly? The vague info we have so far doesn't seem to match up to what I can find online (and yes, I've looked at the links). I know Randy posted that it happened because the feds misinterpreted whether he does/does not sell flavored nicotine and that the nicotine arrives in trucks. But I can't find anything that explains how that leads to an intimidating investigation by DHS.

I tend to agree with others that we don't have enough information about this yet. Yes, it is fun to rant about big government, especially given recent news on the topic, but it's not necessarily conducive to getting to the heart of this particular issue.

Hopefully we'll get more information soon so that we have a better idea of what may or may not be an alarming event for our community.

I haven't understood from the beginning. Just how does one flavor nic anyway? Did they mean flavored juice with nic in it? I've never heard of flavored nic and if it was flavored juice then are we to see mass invasions at all vendors? And what about the Chinese juices at ports of entry? This is very confusing.

Yeah... Everyone Loves a Good Rant every now and again. And like you said, the FDA and our Government have been Prime Targets Lately.

But sometimes things just turn into FUD.

I have found that sometimes Events that may Seem Extreme in Text, Usually have a Simple and Reasonable Explanation.

Is it a "fact" or a claim being made on an internet forum that has not been verified by anyone else? I'm not saying he is lying, but how can his story be verified?

His post on 7/2011 stated "We subcontract out the extraction to a laboratory in Charlotte, NC and have another lab for back-up in Philadelphia, PA," but in a later post on 3/2012 he said his nicotine "is extracted in Philadelphia using North Carolina Tobacco."
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...nicotine-liquid-made-usa-104.html#post5487190 I didn't see the post stating he started using the Charlotte lab again. If I missed it I stand corrected. :)

Who is the "other ECF vendor" and why haven't they verified what happened?

I find many things in life, very sad, and this is one of them..........almost wish I never heard of e-cigs

There's that big word "if". How could anyone be guilty of breaking a law IF it may become illegal?

The same mentality that would give a Nobel Peace Prize for something that hasn't happened yet? Kinda reminds of that Tom Cruise movie about arresting people who they think MIGHT commit a crime?

Didn't Randy say that there was a subpoena issued to the company that handles RTS orders to collect all order receipts in the past 30 days? I'd like to know if that was before or after the visit to him. Sounded like it was prior to the visit, but don't know that for sure. In any case, a subpoena does lend credibility to the identity of the agents. But how can it be legal for a person to be prevented from verifying the identity of agents and the documents they're using to conduct their business?

Unfortunately, even if a person is innocent it's still going to cost them a lot in legal fees to prove it. As to the RTS issue, I'm sure there's a lot more information to come out.
