Not understanding how the hole plug works..

Drill a hole through the plastic syringe and use the 3 ml rubber plunger part to plug the hole. That way you don't have to use a syringe to fill. When it's time to fill, you just take the plug out, fill, replace the plug.

(I bought a Chopper Cyclone tank, and it uses the same type of plug. It works very well. My little earring stoppers work well, but the hole is a lot smaller than the one that uses the 3ml stopper. I still have to fill with a syringe, but I don't have to wedge the syringe in between the syringe and the plunger at least.)

Has anyone come up with a solution to the rubber taste?
I used the ideal brand syringe and followed the directions almost exactly (had to use my dremmel instead of pipe cutter). I even let is sit for several hours but I ended up with a horrible chemical kind of rubber taste.
I have now taken it all apart and washed the stopper pieces with dish detergent and tepid water. They smell just like the taste I'm getting when I try to vape. So I'm not sure how keen I am to try to fill it again with my precious juice.

If anyone else had this problem and found a solution, please let me know.

I just don't get how the plug stays in the hole...lol

It fits tight and the ridges on the rubber stopper hold it in. This was my problem with trying to use it. I couldn't get a clean drilled hole and when I tried to clean it up the hole was either too big or lopsided, so I didn't get a tight seal. A drill press would certainly make it a lot more fool-proof.

I have a drill press to do this. Do you put anything inside the tube before you drill the 11/32 hole?
those are the ones to get.
also the 3ml ideal makes a good fill hole plug.
use a 11/32 drill bit for the hole in the side.

:confused:Well I am beginning to wonder if all you people on this thread are playing a joke on me to suck me in to making a syringe mod.LOL
I cut the syringe with success, good so far. Now to punch out the hole in the plunger, I tried 2 different plungers with hammering the carto thru it and, (1)- I couldn't get it to cut in the center of the plunger very well, it was cockeyed but, I could live with that. (2)- it did not even come close to a clean round hole like I thought it would, it was a very rough elongated hole and not smooth at all, It looks like a rat chewed thru it, and is so undersized that I can not put it in the syringe because when I put a carto in it stretches it out way to much to get in the syringe. NOW if the people in the know can quit laughing long enough tell me how to do it better I would appreciate it. I use a 510 cartomizer for the punch and want to use a 510 carto in it .

I use a vise to make the holes in the rubber plungers. It makes the cleanest holes.

Hmmm, to make the hole in the plunger I stuck the carto in, and then put the whole thing (plunger side down) on my concrete garage steps. I somewhat gently tapped the hammer around the outside edges of the battery side of the carto while holding the whole thing down on the concrete steps. I tapped around and around the edges of the battery side until I could hear the sound of the metallic carto edge hitting the concrete steps. This told me that I had gone all the way through. I then lifted the whole thing up to check. If there was a little bit of rubber still not punched through, I set it back down and hammered the battery end so that it would punch through at that particular spot. This was very easy and made a perfect hole.

Now, I think it was Bill who recommended a different method which you could try. He suggested putting the carto in a drill, and using the drill to spin the carto through the rubber, which sounds like a great idea.

As far as it not fitting back in the syringe... for me it is a tight fit. I had to use my fingernail or a flat edged screwdriver to shove the ridges into the syringe. Once the ridges were in, the rest slid in fine. Lubing the rubber up with some PG or juice (or spit, lol) might help too. If the hole you made is not a good circle, it might just be too big to fit into the syringe, and getting a nice clean circle might make it easier. I'm not sure about that though.

put your carto in a drill and drill the hole

I am not getting any rubber taste at all. I am using a different brand syringe than you are, but most everybody is using Ideal. Wish I could help.

Has anyone come up with a solution to the rubber taste?

Oh yeah, I meant to reply to the post about the rubber taste. I'm not getting that either. I've made 4 of these tanks so far, and no rubber taste on them or the Chopper tank that I bought. Are you one of the posters who boiled the rubber pieces first? I read back through and saw that a few people had tried boiling them.

I don't have any suggestions to get rid of the rubber taste since I haven't experienced that.

The holes in my plunger aren't "perfect" either, but it all straightens out when it's put together. I hammer on a wooden block. Whack, whack, whack, easy peasy. I whack until I can see the metal ring of the carto show up on the other side. C'mon, a girl can do it, LOL.

Aw, honey, just kidding, I know how frustrating it can be when things don't seem to be working. I only do a few at a time, and I just can't be bothered with a drill. My carto fits in very tightly as well. What kind of syringe you got there?

I'm the one that said in another reply to you that (you are pretty smart for a girl) Now I really feel dumb. LOL I tried this on a 12mm syringe that I thought would be a neat size and to practice on. Maybe the 20ml will cut better, The 12ml was very thick. The ones I have are called 12mg and 20mg luer slip without needle Disposable Syringe and I think sold or made by Allison Medical, Inc. I bought them from a farm supply. I just hate to ruin to many before I get it right.

What I did was to set it on wood then I tried the cement floor and just gave it a hard whack. I will try your method of just going around the edges and see how that works. Thanks for you reply.
