If you pop out the mouth piece plug on 510 blank cartridge they work just fine.Just place a little superglue gel in the little air hole in the center of it.I use JB Weld putty just a very tiny amount. No break down of any kind and works perfect.Just drill your hole in your tube to where the plug has to be forced just a little and its good to go.

Excellent idea! Thanks.

I actually just got an 8' piece of this from this company today. It cost a total of $14.43, including shipping. It came UPS in an 8' long box, LOL. This is the standard size tubing for most of the tank mods sold. I got it to have a supply of tank tubes for my liquinators.

These will not fit with the black syringe ends.
Where can I get the black syringe ends from for the 20ml tanks???? I got 12 - 20 ml syringes, so of course I will be using ONLY 6 of them to make 6 complete tanks :) So where can I get the black syringe ends from for the 20ml tanks, to use the remaining 6 syringes????

Thanks a million,
Hugs,

You can get them at a Tractor Supply Company. You will have to get the whole syringe though as they don't just sell the rubber plungers separately. The Luer Lock ones are the ones you want if using for 510 cartos.

Im using the 3ml plungers for the tank plug on all my tank mods. I will try the 1ml ones when my father visits me this weekend. He is diabetic and has a ton of these syringes. Has anyone used these?

I think someone mentioned using the insulin plugs somewhere in this huge thread. IIRC they worked well, but I'm not gonna go back and look for it to confirm!

Check out post#736. I found 'em in China, but I don't think I could move 9,950 plunger tips (the missing 50 would be mine)!

by the way, i don't think it's been mentioned in this thread, but it has in others. in those other threads, we've found what may be the easiest (and most reliable) way to punch holes in cartos so far. Shop Watts 1/4" Brass Self-Tapping Saddle Valve at Lowes.com i bought one last night and filled a couple of old cartos so full of holes that they looked like swiss cheese. It's really easy, all you do is put the carto in, tighten the screws (you can grab the threaded part sticking down with your fingers and make it tight enough, no screwdriver needed), turn the knob on the top (the thing with the T shaped handle) and the piercing needles comes down and makes a nice hole for ya. you can make the hole bigger by tightening it more after you pierce the carto. works GREAT! :D just an idea, and a cheap one at that.

Sweet! Gotta get one...

Thanx!

Welcome! I got a feeling this is what the dealers are using to punch their "pre-punched" cartos. No special tools necessary, very easy to operate, no tearing stuff up with a drill bit getting pieces of metal and poly everywhere, no dealing with slicing holes with a dremmel. Just insert cart, tighten screws with your fingers, turn knob and pop, there's a hole ;) Somebody made a video (kinda long and drawn out, but he gets the point across) $7.00 Carto punch from local hardware store - YouTube if you want to see it in action.

Thats a great tool to do this. I have one somewhere in my house but I will never find it. I am going to get that.

I'd read rumors that somebody had the piercing tip get dull after the first punch, so I was trying to find something like these http://www.sunsetcrystals.com.au/images/P/PLHT7.jpg instead. Metal hole punches. Couldn't find one anywhere. So at the last stop looking for the hole punch (lowes), I decided to find the saddle valve. I think it works so much better than the hole punch would have. Cause if the tip does get dull (which mine didn't after punching about 15 holes in my 2 dead cartos lol) you could unscrew the valve and use the body of it as a guide for a drill or ice pick or whatever else. Or, they're $7, not real expensive, and not something I would use that often anyway. Would probably take me a few months to reach 15 holes punched if I wasn't just goofing off with it :)

That would be 5 syringe tanks for me, tri-punched. Probably could 'dress' the tip if gets dull. I'll pick one up this PM when I ship out a couple of PIFs.

BTW, the hole punch you linked is too fragile for carto punching!

I have one in my basement that feeds the fridge. I have another one that I saw a long time ago. It was something that I had and put it somewhere I could find if I needed it... but I forgot where I put it.

I have lots of stuff put away in that special place. Someday I will remember where that special place is, and find all those valuable thingamajigs I stored there, but then I will not remember what it was I was going to do with them.
