I'm having trouble with a 1.7ohm Resurrector (not wicking) and I've emptied the tank (and refilled 3 times now) using a syringe and it works very well. After it's empty I get a paper towel and push the parts out onto it and it's not been too messy at all.

Anyone else have trouble with carto fillers not wicking?

Two quick questions for you.

1. Are you filling the carto after you fill the tank? I noticed with my 1.7's that they don't wick well from the tank unless they start out wet.

2. How many holes have you put into the carto, and where are they?

My best luck so far has been a 3 hole route kind of spiraled around the carto. Lowest once is about 2 mm from the bottom grommet, then one near the middle and one about 4mm from the top grommet (just below the poly fill level in the carto). Seems to give me the best wicking potential without worrying about leakage.

I have been using a Ressurrector 1.7ohm, in my 20ml tank for a full 7 days and that is the longest by far a carto has ever lasted me and I vape alot all day and night. I have only one hole just above the bottom plunger, its about 1/16th to 3/32th hole size and I have had no wicking problems. I punch my hole with a sharp Deck screw and hammer. works very well. If you think its not wicking well you can look in a mirror and look where the punched hole is, and puff on the carto with out pushing the power button, and watch the hole bubble and wick. Hope this helps.

I did pre-fill the carto. I started out with one slot (dremeled) which worked with the first carto I used (that did wick). My first attempt to remedy the problem I just made sure the slot went through to the filler. Next try I used the wire stripper and punched 2 more holes. All of them near the bottom plunger. The only other thing that is different is that the filler appears to have shrunk, and if I top off too much the juice just leaks out the bottom of the battery. Maybe it's just a dud.

If the filler shrunk, I think it got burnt from cutting the slot. It will get very hot cutting with a dremel. Its best to cut the slot with a wet carto to help keep it from burning. That also explains the liquid coming out.

No it is a plug that you put in shelves, to cover the holes that you are not using :) Sometimes they go in kitchen cabinets, where you putting the shelves and the holes that you are not using, you put those plugs in it to blend in with the same colored cabinets :)

Is that from a carto?

Hey Skeeter, I must have missed your explanation for just what that is for. Is it to plug a fill port in the tank?

Yes I made a hole the size of the carto condom on the side of the syringe, then stuck the white plug into the condom :) I thought it would work, but the stem on the plug has groves in it and when I tried to use it, there is air bubbles around the plug :) Sooooo..... I went ahead and put some super glue in the grooves to cover it hoping that it will stop that problem :) We shall see :) Stay tuned, until I can do it again....

How do you fill it, if you plug the hole up with silicone????

The hole in the carto cap, not the carto tank. The lil white cap that comes in the new cartos. They come with a hole in the middle so you can vape with it in. I think that's what they were referring to.

Yep, that's it. Fill the little hole to seal it off, then you can use the soft carto rubber thingy for a filler port plug.

Well my syringes finally came in so I spent the day making tanks. Um~ 2.5 tanks to be exact! Nothing was going right. I planned to make mine with ce2 clearos since that's what I had in my stash. I ordered the 3 ml ideal syringes along with the 10 and 20. I thought someone had said they used those to replace the clearo tubes and I wanted to make mine with the center clearo like asnider had posted so I could easily remove the ce2.

Needless to say, the 3ml ideal syringes do not fit the ce2:mad: So tank number1 I had to make a little hole to accommodate the base of the ce2. Used the clearo tube in the top of the tank to hold the ce2 rubber junk. I didn't think it was going to be sturdy enough but it's actually working out ok. I used a reg. sized ce2 inside the 20 ml syringe and it held about 2.5 ml of juice. Not sure I'd toss it in the purse, but it's working fine for sitting here watching the tube.

Next I tried a 10ml with an xl xe2. This time I drilled out the slip tip end like someone on the thread mentioned and popped the ce2 in there. I like this method since I don't have to waste 2 syringes to make one tank. So thanks for that idea. Think it was Harmonic???

Tank 3 is half done. Since drilling out the slip tip worked so well, I'm going to try doing that with the 3ml syringe tomorrow. Then I'll be able to make the tank asnider posted.

In all my trials and tribulations messing with these things today I found a few things that did work out well. I couldn't use the atty to punch the hole for the ce2 base because it was too big. But I found that the orange grinding stones that come with the dremel do a great job boring out the stoppers. It makes a TON of dust, but it leaves the stopper real smooth. Also, I found that the 1/2"L beveled faucet washers fit inside the 20ml syringes. So the leftover cut syringe can be used to make a 2nd tank with the washers. I'll be using that tomorrow (I hope) to finish up tank 3. Once that's done, I need to try making one with an actual carto. Can only imagine what I'll go through punching the holes!

What were you punching out with the atty. If it was a 510 threaded atty, it the same size as a 510 cartomizer and thats what I use to punch out the 20ml syringe rubber plunger. Is that what you were talking about?? What was to big, the hole or the base of the ce2? I use the carto/atty to punch the hole and the ce2 fits it well.
