If the packing's not burning it's probably wicking fine. Dual coil cartos generally run at a lower temperature but have more coil in contact with the packing - so if it's not crackling there may be nothing wrong with it.

I've got two 1.7 ohm single coil cartos in tanks - one crackles and the other doesn't but both wick fine. The juice in both is all VG except for flavoring.
That makes sense. I stopped using them for now because I was afraid that since there is an additional coil I figured the juice wasn't getting to it and was afraid it would start burning the filler. I'll pop one back on and see what happens. Thanks.

Some fillers are wrapped tighter than others. Although the coils are 'wet', they may not give you that sizzle and those 'happy farts'. As long as you don't get an off taste, ya should be GTG.
Been vaping on one of them and the juice level has gone down and is about empty. The taste seems to have gone down, but I have two holes, and when I vape, one of them becomes exposed to the air which is probably affecting the wicking. But other than that, it actually has been vaping quite well.

Thanks.

EDIT: Latest 2.0 dual coil syringe tank pics. Using two punched holes with a saddle valve.

Have you tried Tractor Supply? Or a farm/agriculture type store here in PA. They have them here and NO prescription needed.
I was stoked about this mod. Went to 3 different med. supply stores with no luck. Turns out you need a prescription to be able to purchase any syringes in PA regardless if they have a needle or not.

Edit: Off to the Interwebz I go....

I followed exact instructions to use the plunger from a 3ml Ideal syringe, placed it right in the middle on the side. Hole came out pretty clean. Plunger fits snug and looks pretty good, too! No leaks at all. I filled it right up laying on its side, put the plug in, and voila! It's vaping like a champ!

My fill port is on the top and none of mine ever leaked. I fill mine with the tanks sideways, plug it and vape. Always good.

Thats great, Im always looking for something else to use as a plug. So far I think this is the best.

I've punched small holes using the saddle valve on Boge 3.0 cartos and juices have wicked great in every one of them (VG heavy and PG heavy). But I'm having problems with these Mega XL HV 2.0 ohm dual coil cartomizer with the VG heavy juice. The PG heavy juice seems to wick, but it seems a lot slower than on the Boge's (they will still crackle). But with the VG juice, it seems it stops crackling after the juice that I pre-filled in the carto is used up. I've tried one hole (the way I've been doing it on the Boge's), two holes (same as on Boge's), and one larger hole, and two larger holes.

I'm wondering if the filler material is different and has a harder time soaking up from the tank. Anyone by chance using any 2.0 dual coils with more success than me?

I just picked up some mega xl dual coil 2.5ohm from smoktek and they work really well but i noticed they need to be soaked way more than any other carto i have. I put so much in it i was sure i was flooding it but it didnt, they must have some super absorbent packing in them.

You have to make sure the hole is smooth and not jagged with sharp edges. Ive been using the same plugs on all my tanks for over a month without any issues.
I just wish it didn't disintegrate so quickly :( Mine is only a couple weeks old and already it's falling apart on the edges and giving me floaties in my tank :(

I bought some of those ear ring thingys at Michaels. How are they holding up to the juice for those of you using them?
The most I've refilled a tank is twice now, so time will tell me how they hold up in the long run. So far though, they are working great, are snug, have survived being dropped, and best of all, sit relatively flush to the tank.

I have one in the tank for about a month and many refills. I melt the small end of the earring back with a flame and it closes the little hole so I don't need to put a earring or a thumb tack in it. I guess you could just cut the thumb tack shaft off and use that or anything that will fit. I just thought of that as I'm typing this. LOL They are small so you don't hardly notice it on your tank.

Don't they have farm supply or vet supply stores? Even in CA, where I used to live, had trouble buying syringes at a drugist, but no prob at the vet supply
