I have heard of this myself, but can't remember where. Either this thread or one of the others that's out there. Might be a good idea to check into also.

I have not read through all 164 pages, so don't know if this has been brought up before or not. I found a thread somewhere a couple of weeks ago on the forum about another tank/carto mod that looked interesting. It's made from a 6ml juice bottle. I am not very computer savvy so don't know exactly how to put this site address in this reply, but it's on youtube search kennysmancave channel. I made one three days ago and it has worked perfectly, cost me nothing and have had perfect operation with no leaks for 3 straight days. If it has already been and gone in this thread, I apologize, but if not maybe someone who is more able can direct readers to this site. The thing that I liked was that I didn't have to go buy anything. I had several empty bottles and some new CCV Resurrectors, and the saddle valve already, so it was pretty much free for me.

Excellent, let us know if it seems to help in that way. I'd try it myself, but haven't got to the point to try a tank yet, although I have a few ready. Yeah, I'm chicken. I'm just waiting till I get a good diy juice done, that way, if I get a bad leak, I'm not losing expensive stuff, or wasting cartos. :D

I test with 95%VG - 5% distilled water.

My first fill was with AVE Hype 90/10 mix. Works great. Punched the hole (only one) by using the saddle valve and screwing it down as far as it would go. Left about a .5mm or so hole. The carto was filled prior to filling the tank. It has wicked perfectly for me for three days. Have gone through about 4mls without a hitch.

And, because I like to try to take everything too far... I haven't measured it yet, but I have something like a 15ml tank. :)

I saw this and am giving it a try...:)

Is there any of our ecig vendors that carries these bottles? US Plastics has them for $.25 apiece but I hate ordering just a few and nothing else, then paying shipping on something that cost a dollar or two. If there is an ecig vendor, maybe I could get 3 or 4 and some cartos, or something else I need.

NLV was selling a similar bottle mod with a ce2 inside. I bought one in mid August and it's still going strong.

I placed an order a few days ago from Welcome To The Only Vapor Shop In Indianapolis And Central Indiana....... and they had the empty 6ml bottles. I picked up a few to try, so hopefully they are the right ones.

I'm not sure they're exactly the same bottles but OneStop DIY Shop and Perfumers' Apprentice sell them - I bought a bunch of them from PA.

Neither of them sell cartos, though :(

As a follow-up, I got some Smoktech 3.2 ohm cartos in and have made a couple syringe tanks with them. I've only gone through about 5 Boge 3.0's in syringe tanks, and only one is still running well, while another one stopped wicking completely after my second tank fill. The other three didn't even last me a full tanks worth of juice before they stopped wicking.

A couple of things that I noticed between the Boge and Smoktech cartos:

  1. The filler material on the Boge's just don't seem to be a good pack and don't have a consistent look to them. When opening a fresh one and looking down from the top, the material often has several frays sticking out above the pack line. With the Smoktech's, the material has a very tight pack, and sometimes a few frays sticking up, but nothing like on the Boge's that I currently have.
  2. I use a syringe for the initial fill of my cartos. On the Boge's, the syringe is met with resistance going down between the filler material and the sidewall, and always ends up snagging. Invariably, I always end up with the syringe pulling a string or two of filler material out with it. With the Smoktech's (both the 3.2 single and 2.0 dual coil), the syringe glides down between the filler and the side wall very easily. I have yet to have the syringe pull any strings of filler material out on the Smoktech's.
The wicking on the Smoktech's is awesome. In fact, on the one Boge that is still running, I had to create my hole a little larger than I had previously. I ended up creating a hole in my first Smoktech 3.2 the same size as the one in the Boge, and it floods. Punched a second one with my usual hole size, and it has been wicking great. In creating the holes, I use a saddle valve and turn slowly until I hear the pop, then twist the handle slightly less than 360 degrees. I create one hole on the single coil, and two holes opposite each other on the dual coils, and both are running great. Time will tell on the 3.2's how well they hold up, as I haven't gone a whole day yet.

I just ordered 10 6ml bottles to try. I figure I'll try using 1 hole in a carto, if it doesn't wick that well, I'll just give the bottle tank a squeeze. I'd rather do that than ending up with a flooding carto.
I agree with poolslime on the Boge carto filler issue. The filler does look different than it used to. I think that they have cheapened up on us.

I agree they probably changed something. Previously, I was using 2.0 Boge's on my KGO, and I didn't have the problems with them that I'm having with the 3.0's.
