Wow I can no longer start a new thread on New Members Forum, so I'm posting here instead. Been struggling to quit analogs for 2 months now. After I got my 24mg juices I finally got the TH and the "kick" that I need to avoid analogs. Stressful job makes it difficult. Psychological aspects makes it even more difficult. When I feel depressed it makes me want to smoke a cigarette. But today is the 3rd day that I haven't smoked any cigarettes. Hope I can make it...and quit analogs for good.

Thanks for listening. :)

Good luck! I spent the summer just using the e cig when I was in situations where I didn't want to smell like a cigarette. Then my sister came to visit with her lavatube and shared her experience of quitting ( and let me try the LT). Maybe a week later I fully committed and haven't looked back. Real cigs started tasting gross, and I liked not smelling like an ashtray!

Everyone has their own story. I hope yours is a story of easy successful cessation! I'm only 5 weeks into this but I truly can't imagine going back.

If you are having a hard time quitting and seriously want to switch over to vaping here are some tips.
Do not wait for the urge of wanting a cigarette to vape, it is not going to hurt you, just continually vape all day. That will help curb those urges you get throughout the day.
Upping the nicotine is not always the answer, some people just need more power. Think about getting an ego twist battery if you are just using a standard ecig. For some people, a standard ecig is just not the answer, it does not deliver enough vapor, flavor or TH that is needed. The twist will get you accustomed to a more powerful alternative and it is one of the cheapest ways to start.
No need spending a lot of money on a mod unless you know you are going to get into it.

Each type of juice delivery system is a little different. Maybe you should experiment with different kinds. And, of course, different voltages also.

To me, the key is to focus on the vaping, on learning and experimenting. Rather than to focus on quitting smoking. IOW focus on the adventure rather than on deprivation. That way the old way will just fade away by itself.

I just don't do self-control very well.

I did not make it until my second try. But, the second time I switched to vaping 100% from the get go. I was able to use my knowledge of the first time to help me this time around. Now, I am almost 30 days without one cigarette. Trust me, I still get the urge. But after this much progress it's easy to motivate myself not to and to just grab my ego twist.

Also,

This is the longest time in 12 years of smoking I have gone without a cigarette. Before when I tried cold turkey, the most I made it was 2 days...

Thanks for the tips, Skyway! You are right. I started with a standard e-cig 2 months ago. Now I have a KGO and it makes a big difference.

That's great news, Syav! My bit of advice (even though everyone else's advice is great) is try new flavors until you find a flavor you absolutely love! That's what helped me alot.
Good advice. I only have 2 good juices at the moment, yikes. But I have 2 more flavors on the way. There's a local tobacco shop but they only sell 100%VG which doesn't give me any TH to kick the analog habit.

Just keep reminding yourself that vaping has the physical and the main chemical that satisfies your need of smoking.

When things are getting stressful, make it a habit of grabbing your PV and vaping the stress away instead of the alternative.
I'll keep that in mind. I sneak to the restroom while at work so I can vape and get rid of my stress, LoL.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. This is a great forum for support, and I really appreciate all the responses. :)

Good advice. Don't start with DIY though. Otherwise you may find yourself having a new hobby. I did. And now i just HAVE to make new juices and experiment every day :)

You can do it Syav. My big tip is to not stress about it. I know for me, the more I pushed myself the more I wanted to smoke. When I got to the point of not worrying about any cig I smoked things got easier. All that time the cigs just got less and less satisfying. After each one I found myself wanting to vape. Then I got a Vivi Nova and a Twist. Things got much easier after that. When I finally gave up the cigs, I had a rough week or so, then things got much better. I still want to smoke sometime, but I just vape through it. Good luck.

No DIY here. I enjoy shopping around and see what flavors different suppliers offer. :)

Thanks. You're right. If I get stressed out and try to push myself it only gets harder. It gets easier if I don't worry about it and just enjoy vaping. I'm thinking about getting the Vivi Nova, maybe next week.

Yea, actually when I started vaping I told myself it didn't mean I could never smoke again. See, I was still in the mind set that I didn't think I could ever live without another cig. I told myself, "Self, if you can at least cut back and even vape half as much as you smoke, you can still enjoy smoking cigs." Cause let's face it, addicts don't want to hear that they won't do their addiction again. And of course I used the crutch that I worked hard and I deserved it, and I was under alot of stress. Truth is we will always be under stress and work hard and deserve it. The other wonderful truth is, that once I started vaping I got to where I just didn't care about the cigs anymore. It can happen :) I'm saying thank you while looking up to the sky because I really didn't think I would ever be able to quit the cigs and live a day without missing them and dying to have one. To me not smoking meant living a miserable life.

Thanks MiamiMom, that was inspiring :) ! I heard some people say the 3rd day is the hardest day to quit. But it looks like I'm making it through the day just fine. A couple strong urges that I was able to overcome. All the encouragements that I got from this forum really helped.

I started with the v2, which is a good brand, but I wish I had found this forum first! However, when my my package arrived and I got the batteries charged, I had 2 analog cigarettes left. I smoked one analog later, and the other is still sitting in front of me on my desk.
This is my 5th day vaping, and don't miss the analogs at all.
You need to try different liquids. Go to the General e-liquid forum and trace down "5 Top Vendors (e-liquid)". I would go with one or more of the suggestions these long time members suggested.

If your're a heavy smoker as I was, I would probably go with 24mg. nico. You can always buy a bottle with less nico and mix them together if 24 mg. is too strong.

Like I said, I wish I had come here first and gotten educated before buying the v2. I'm looking at Joycetech Twist or maybe a Volcano Lavatube. The LAvatube has an LED read out to tell the voltage, but that's not important to some vapers. You'll get many suggestions, but at least buy one that is good quality.

My 2 cents, and definitely worth every penny.

Syav, vape and if you feel the urge that you need a cig, try it. Take a couple puffs and fling it. lol. I've done that about 4 times just to see if I was still missing it. Weird, I know. Last time was when I was stressed because I became a grandma. LOL. Took a couple puffs cause my ex was smoking outside, then went inside and got my ecig. Sometimes we have to reassure ourselves we aren't missing out on anything. ha!

Thanks, flintlock! Yup I was vaping 18mg. Then I up to 24mg nic and I'm getting a better kick with it than a regular cigarette. So I said to myself, wow I can quit analogs with this! I might get the KGO VV with multiple voltage, some time in the near future. Right now my budget is on getting various juices. I'm trying not to spend too much getting all kinds of stuff, Lol. :smokie:

i am pretty new as well, and i can honestly say that I have no desire to smoke a regular cigarette ever again! With that being said, the thing that helped me the most, was having the support of my boyfriend, and sweet tobaccos. Still gave me a cigarette taste, but reminded me that I can have something better!Wish you the best of luck!!
