i guess it wasn't understood. On the post i made with the ghost out almost invisible image my shot at the joke was supposed to be talking as the tro lo lo guy and not ME as the buyer trying to lighten up the situation she's in. Nobody is taking advantage of nobody. Hopefully this cleared something up before people starts to jump in. I have one on the way, that's enough for now. Honestly I have not noticed a tremendous difference between the pre-made ones, the reoxidized and the custom one I made.
One juice might have more flavor but so far I think this is a case of ymmv. I totally get it if people want to make their own and I will Probably do so just for fun occasionally but I would be willing to bet that most people will be completely happy with what comes with it.
The thing is that zen created these kits for people who are not necessarily technically savvy to be able to get into the genesis devices. At the same time it is a advanced user device that even seasoned people will enjoy. By complicating things by messing with wicks and modifications, in some way we are taking away from the spirit in which he created these and from his philosophy which is to just leave it be and enjoy it.
There are those of us, who in pursuit of what we think is the prefect vape, will continue to play and that is cool too.
Everyone needs to decide what is best for them. I just think for the newbies, they should start by enjoying them in the way them come and as they gain knowledge, then play a bit. I am still learning things all the time.

I remember zen's post about taking the cap off, firing it up and blowing on the wick. This is when everything changed for me.
MY AYS is a serious problem child too.. I guess a lot of 'em you can "just vape it" and some of them need to be slapped around a bit until they behave. My was tasting awfully burnt.. kcos looked it over for me and we couldn't find anything wrong. I discovered a bit later it was shorting on the top cap ever so slightly. Then it had connection issues which I finally got sorted. And now today the wick insulator popped up out of it's hole and was trying to melt itself to the coils. So yeah.. don't get discouraged too quickly. I know you've had it for a week, but if it's still tasting bad after an hour or three pulling off a new wick then something is wrong and it's time to start figuring out what it is. These things are like VW Bugs, pretty much anything can be fixed.

for me, it was our last "formal" get together when he asked me to beta test the Z-Atty Pro. i asked him about the variations in TH regarding the air hole placement and he was talking about his design ideas working best under "slow and steady" conditions. of course, i ignored him and was trying to vape my face off. the nice thing about my hour long ride home from Rochester is that it's a chance to review some of the conversations, laughs, and ideas that we all share when we get together. i remembered his comments and tried them. BIG IMPROVEMENT!!!
my own analysis led me to think of the cooling/wicking improvements by going slower. i thought i'd stand and be counted next to you...
