So it took me a while to catch up with the evening posts... You guys have been busy!

I'd like to take a minute to tell you what I think about this latest development.

First things first... When I designed the Zenesis PV it was my intention, as you know... To build the best PV I possibly can build. I have no illusions about it being the best in the world... I just want it to be the best I can make, even of I have to learn new skills to do so.

I started with aluminum... Because I could. I know stainless is better... And I also know that if I use stainless I would want to use the best available... I lack the machinery to turn 316LVM, and I cannot afford to own it!

Aluminum was the best I could do.

My original plan was to use Pyrex for the tank... Polycarbonate is a compromise. When I discovered Pyrex would be a problem, I settled for polycarbonate even though I wanted to use Pyrex. I have struggled with that decision.

So... Aluminum... A compromise... Polycarbonate... A compromise... The first units have springs in the switch... Compromise... The first units had a pin for the positive connection... A compromise.

And with all the compromises, it's an amazing PV... "its the coolest thing I saw at VaperCon" was the buzz after that weekend. Hundreds of requests to build them came in...

And it was loaded with compromises!

Other people didn't see it that way... They just related to what I was trying to do and fell in love with it!

All could see was where it fell short of my desires.

So out went the spring... Replaced with magnets... Compromise gone.

I redesigned the positive connection... Boom... Compromise gone.

The big upgrade... Stainless, and not just stainless... The best stainless ever used on a PV. Compromise gone...

Then there's that tank... Plastic... Polycarbonate.. Known to have issues... And a complete compromise.

It's not what I wanted to deliver. Pyrex was being mentioned over and over again in the thread and people were offering up well intentioned solutions... Not knowing I have exhausted the options to use that material.

I was working on quartz for a while, and it is completely compatible with the Dragon design... I found several sources of the material, that was easy... Getting somebody to manufacture the tanks is quite another issue. Ive been at this for a while, and working towards the dragon release... Then I found the answer!

So if you ask me how I feel about quartz... It's better to ask me how I feel about polycarbonate...

I hated the fact that I had not solved the problem in time for the production release. It really made me unhappy, because to me... The best PV I can make should not have a plastic tank.

Then the news of the delay at the machine shop... I'm actually ok with that kind of a delay... One that ensures high quality... I looked at the delay and said, how can I flip this time delay into an opportunity... I've already been talking to the quartz people... I wonder if they can produce enough tanks to be able to have them made while the machine shop QA is happening... So I called... And they welcomed the business.

I never wanted polycarbonate... It was never my vision...

I want to make the best PV I can make...

After collecting money for these, however... I have to rephrase that to "I want to make the best PV you will allow me to make", because I am now in debt to all of you, and until I ship, I will be uncomfortable with any delay of any kind for any reason.

It was meant to be. It's that simple. Everything happens for a reason. The machine shop delay gave you the time to get the tanks you truly wanted. Fused Quartz tanks are meant to be on a Zenesis.

Bumpi... No.

I'm not making a clear top section.

You have seen a picture of one prototype with the clear section. It doesn't look that good in person... In fact it looks unfinished. The hole at the top in the metal does not work... I tried it long ago. The hole placement in the side is critical. I absolutely assure you the atomizer does not work properly with the hole at the top.

And seriously... The only thing that makes this PV different from a SB with a Ce2 on it is being able to see vapor being produced?

Cool, I thought you would have greater insight since u actually have tried this, I prefaced everything I was sayin by I have not even held a genesis...and no, I know there is a lot more to the difference than that I was trying to say that the wonderful atty u designed was a major part of the difference...I hope I did not offend you as that was not what I meant... It was more of a visual comparison I was talking about like a Lexus can look like a Toyota with a different badge, but on further inspection u see better materials are used and features are far better.... It came across wrong and I apologize.. not what I meant

I bought into the zen brand long ago and I know this PV is far better than most others on the market...just one of the most often questions I get asked by nonvapers is how does it work, and when people try telling me I can't vape indoors cause they think smoke is coming from somewhere inside it, it would be easy to explain if there was a window to the atty...if u say it's not beneficial or doable then I know it isn't......was just asking bc of this new wonder material.lol again so sorry for any confusion/ poor clarity in my prior posts

Zen, I feel so awful that I may have unintentionally offended you or your design of this remarkable PV....my post may have been unclear and that will not happen again....I know this will set a standard in high end PVs and make all those with certain Greek mods jealous...I can't wait to get mine and further spread the word

Okies ... I'm a Febber and I'm (like just about everyone else) all for it!

My one and only peeve about this PV was the poly tank, Peeve Gone! I'll happily wait as long as it takes.

Now ...

On to a bigger challenge, other than the fact that I want to also get the Ti - it's a lot of $$$, and I need to convince myself that I wouldn't just be buying one for coolness sake alone (although, I say to myself, "Self", I say "We are talking MAJOR COOLNESS here!".

So ... can you kind folks help me out here. I'm trying to track down the relevant posts as to the real world advantages of Titanium.

1) Super Strong .. got it!

(OTOH, the Top Shelf, Surgical Grade SS should be plenty strong as it is).

2) Super Light Weight .. awesome!

(OTOH, I'm a fairly big guy - not sure this is a huge consideration for me ... hey, I've got a SS Cube for crying out loud).

What else? I know there's more, has anyone bookmarked the posts I need to read in order to twist my own arm?

[BIG SNIP]

I never wanted polycarbonate... It was never my vision...

Hey Mike, I was in from the moment I saw your video before I ever pm'd you or joined this thread. As I mentioned somewhere waaaay back, there's an element here of "the artist stretching to achieve his vision" that has appealed to me since the beginning. At the risk of personalizing and acting grossly grandiose, (since I was one of the very few that raised any concerns :p), I don't want the points/questions I raised about the fused quartz to weigh in your mind as "cons". I raise flags, man: it's in my nature and it's part of what I do at work ;)

I agree that the polycarbonate tank is pedestrian, if not inferior, and that it doesn't really fit with the rest of the Zenesis. I also understand that those tanks were not what you and a lot of the folks here wanted. I'm fine with a delay to not only improve the product but also help you achieve your vision for the Zenesis. I'm in this for the ingenuity and functionality, of course; but I'm also here for the aesthetics of the device.

As many have pointed out, it is your pv. And as you have said, you want to make the best device you can make. Now that you've sourced the fused quartz, I say go for it.

You can be comfortable with my money, my Zenesis NEEDS the quartz. I think there is a pattern in my attitude towards you and your products and maybe, hopefully, I represent a majority of us here and the trust and openness we have for you and your design improvements.

Ok so then the answer is the quartz

yes, Yes, YES, I knew you see the light ;)

OK, so lets talk for a minute... hypothetically speaking...

IF by chance, I found a crystal clear material that exceeds the ability of Pyrex to be impervious to liquids... ie. your juice has absolutely NO ability to damage it... and by chance, I can get it in the correct tubing size to use as the tank on the Zenesis PVs and Z-attys...

And what if there was NO additional machining required to make this happen...

The only thing is waiting to have the material cut may take a week... but we are already delayed by the machine shop anyway...

And I am 98% percent certain based on thorough and exhausting calculations that there is plenty of clearance and it won't have the thermal expansion issue....

Those are the upsides...

The downside possible delay of a few extra days...

It's expensive... but not to worry, I'm not changing the price of anything, I'm just commenting that it's expensive and replacement tanks will cost a bit more...

Anyway...

By my calculations, experiments and knowledge of materials, I would like to propose that the Zenesis Hyprid PV and and Z-attys... starting with THIS shipment... would be the FIRST and ONLY PV or tank for that matter to be supplied with...

A Fused Quartz Tubing Tank section.

It blows Pyrex out of the water...

It's EXOTIC!

And it's what REPLACED Pyrex in most serious labs.

Because it's better...

This is exciting stuff... should we do it?

Zenfidels... ESPECIALLY the Febbies...

What say you?

I SAY YEA!!!! Unequivocally :).

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !

What other reason than MAJOR COOLNESS FACTORis there for a Ti PV. That is the major reason I have for getting a Ti Standard ;)

it´s just waaayyy coool and limited. That should be enough, if you are a rational person pull the trigger quickly, before you can think about it or tell it to your spouse
