I'll report in with some good news and some pics.
Below is a list of issues I was having, and the steps I've made to correct them.
Special thanks in particular to Hrathor, Lorderros and Sinnyc for the suggestions.
The Switch
Issue
With the AW IMR 1600s, the switch is wonky and doesn't want to fire until I roll it and find the sweet spot.
Fix
A small magnet on the positive terminal of the batt makes the switch perform well. This is the magnet from a REO door.
This works for the 1600 batt. I don't know about the 2000, because mine haven't arrived yet.
Wicking
Issue
I was having issues getting the pre-rolled 325 mesh wicks to work with my heavy VG Juices--mainly AVE. I'd get a flavorful vape, followed by a weak vape, followed by a dry burn. If I waited a few minutes, I'd get a good vape again.
Fix
Unroll the end of the wick and cut 1/4-inch off. Roll back up. It's giving me tons more vapor than I was getting before. Hopefully, I'll get more flavor as I burn in the coil. Here is the pic of the amount of wick I cut off. It is shockingly close to exactly 1/4 inch--and I just eye-balled it.
Machine Oil
Issue
I was still getting oil, and I wondered if it was giving me a battery contact issue. I know I was tired of the smell.
Fix
Field strip your Zenesis! Be cool with the O-rings, please. And be careful if you decide to take your switch apart. The magnets inside are
very strong, and they will get together faster than the Kardashians and a contrived plot to create fake TV drama. Give the SS parts a nice bath in hot water. I finally had to use a little iso to in the tube.
Thanks to ZEN~ and everyone else who's posted suggestions on getting your Zenesis working
It really DOES get better.
