OK I was just checking my cap. When I take the top off the side are coated with juice , If I keep it up like your picture the juice then does pool and it looks like your picture , I think it's fine your wick is just working a little better maybe pinch your wick a little to slow it down some.

EDIT: sorry zen I didn't see your post.

It looks like ecitek bailed out...

Suggestions for him to try... Until it gets fully broken in only fill the tank half way... It may help.

Also, that juice may be a candidate for a hotter coil... He could try reducing to three wraps and see if it vaporizes more rapidly.

He is correct in saying the toothpick isn't the issue, as he put it in there after the problem started as an attempt at a corrective measure.

I don't know is he's using the stock setup that came with the PV... If he is, then he has 400 wick which rarely floods unless there's really thin juice.

It's wicking like crazy, that's for sure.

Me, too. I have neither had enough collect for it to drip off the "deck" nor have I had any juice spit through my drip tip and I've gone through about 12 ml of juice.

Zen, I thought I read he changed the wick and I thought I read he rewrapped. It's late and I've read a lot I may be mistaken.

Just wondering if he is lining the hole up with wick and if he'd vape with the fill hole down toward chin side if that might help, at least during the first half of the tank. I also liked kcos suggestion of crimping the wick at the top a little.

I'm still here - I PMd back, but here it is:

My juice is probably 80% VG (somewhat thick) and I am using 325 mesh that I rolled myself.

Here is a pic of more juice after only a few minutes, minus the plug. It dose seem like a lot for such a short time. I have waited a couple of hours before and by then it has enough juice to run down the sides and get all over everything.

Thanks for the tips - maybe three wraps will be my next try.

Your wick does not look oxidized. Did you oxidize it?........

I barely know anything about these devices, but could it be something else?

Could there be a pressure issue when you are pulling through the drip tip? Like pulling the juice up with too much pressure or something?

Like I said, I do not own one but am wondering if it is something simple?

80 vg is pretty thick and it seems weird.

Yes, I oxidized it quite a bit, but it is a brand new wick as I thought maybe that would help. I can't tell you how many times I watched Zen's "how to make a wick" video, so I am pretty sure I got that part right. Weird since my juice is pretty thick. Maybe if 3 wraps doesn't work I'll have to go back to the 400 mesh.

When I started using this unit I thought "WOW I am using a lot of juice!" Come to find that much of it is just wicking into the cap.

(at the moment this thing is hitting like a MONSTER too, which I DO like). That is probably why I am getting frustrated at some of the problems - because I know what this thing is capable of.

Sorry, but by the look of the pic the wick looks like new. I can not see the blackish/soot on the wick in the pic. I did not mean to offend, just want to help.

ThE wick is new.. But I think it's shiny because of all the juice on it... It hasn't had an opportunity to gunk up yet...

Does anyone have a solution for the cap constantly filling up with juice? I do not lay it down and rarely turn it upside down, but within about 30 mins of vaping I have a lot of juice sitting in the cap and around the wick. I would say it is equal to the amount I vape. Ideas?

EDIT: 24 minutes since I made this post and cleaned the cap and here is what I have already:

100_1762.JPG

actually, to me...that looks like an awful lot of condensation going on....the driptip has nothing but droplets on it....

Just to clarify,
I was hoping the "issues" thread could just be clean and streamlined with the specific issues so zen can read and see them easily to help get the issues taken care or.

I hope it does not seem like I am trying to be a dictator or am controlling anything. That is not my place.

I was just hoping I could help both all of you who are having issues and Zen.

Please know I am not trying to edit or control any conversations.

Just trying to help. I promise it is nothing more than that.

I'll report in with some good news and some pics.

Below is a list of issues I was having, and the steps I've made to correct them.

Special thanks in particular to Hrathor, Lorderros and Sinnyc for the suggestions.

The Switch

Issue
With the AW IMR 1600s, the switch is wonky and doesn't want to fire until I roll it and find the sweet spot.

Fix
A small magnet on the positive terminal of the batt makes the switch perform well. This is the magnet from a REO door.
This works for the 1600 batt. I don't know about the 2000, because mine haven't arrived yet.

Wicking

Issue
I was having issues getting the pre-rolled 325 mesh wicks to work with my heavy VG Juices--mainly AVE. I'd get a flavorful vape, followed by a weak vape, followed by a dry burn. If I waited a few minutes, I'd get a good vape again.

Fix
Unroll the end of the wick and cut 1/4-inch off. Roll back up. It's giving me tons more vapor than I was getting before. Hopefully, I'll get more flavor as I burn in the coil. Here is the pic of the amount of wick I cut off. It is shockingly close to exactly 1/4 inch--and I just eye-balled it.

Machine Oil

Issue
I was still getting oil, and I wondered if it was giving me a battery contact issue. I know I was tired of the smell.

Fix
Field strip your Zenesis! Be cool with the O-rings, please. And be careful if you decide to take your switch apart. The magnets inside are very strong, and they will get together faster than the Kardashians and a contrived plot to create fake TV drama. Give the SS parts a nice bath in hot water. I finally had to use a little iso to in the tube.

Thanks to ZEN~ and everyone else who's posted suggestions on getting your Zenesis working

It really DOES get better.
