OR you could make your own!QUOTE]

I would consider giving it a try again, but I spent a couple of months trying and I got close to it, but ultimately failed. I would consider sending a bottle of the original I normally vape and supply the extras if anyone with a gift for DYI (VICSAN) wants to help me recreate it.

I tried with various tobacco flavoring and double apple flavoring that TW sells (not sure it's the same as the stuff the manufacturer uses to make their Double Apple Shisha, but it's suppose to be Patriot Range Double Apple). I have 20 bottles of that doube apple flavoring, but maybe with this shisha flavoring you found it will work?

I looked for shisha flavoring before and never could find it anywhere so I was left to trying various tobbacco flavors trying to recreate it.

Thanks Vicsan for finding it.

You should try it with that Shisha flavoring! That's more than likely what you were missing in your mixes. You already have the double apple! YOU CAN DO IT!

vaping Zone's Concentrated flavorings are new. That is the only place I have ever seen shisha flavoring and why I remembered they had it. ;)

I like simple, add a flavor and vape juices. That's why I like the VZ super concentrates. They're EASY. And good.

On edit: I really DON'T have a gift for DIY. Nin does though. He may be able to help you if the shisha ends up not being the secret missing ingredient. .... and after he gets settled in after his move. :)

A few not terribly important things I discovered making coils.......

Don't forget to take out the battery before wrapping a new coil.

4 or 5 inches of wire is plenty to make a 5 wrap coil with extra to play with.

Do 4 or 5 pieces of wire at a time when you do the quench and burn thing. Saves time and effort for the next coils.

Hold all 5 wires together on the very end during the quench and burn. That way, the middle part that you wrap gets done twice as often as the ends and will give you good hits from the very beginning after wrapping a new coil.

Use a candle. It has a steady base and gives you both hands free to work with.

Be very sure before wrapping a new coil that you have gotten all the pieces of the old coil off the top and bottom screw. Otherwise, they will short out the new coil.

Don't cut the final tail of wire off until you check to see if your coils are burning evenly. Just make sure it's out of the way and not touching anything. That way you can always unwrap from the top to play with the wraps if necessary.

Use a pair of fingernail clippers to cut the extra top wire off. It is curved and will allow you to cut the tail closer. Also it is smaller than scissors and will fit in your travel kit.

I only wet and burn the new coil a couple of times with ejuice before putting on the cap and vaping away, and I've never had to struggle thru harsh hits at the beginning of a new coil.

Yeah, I'm not sure where this whole heat and quench thing for the wire came from, but I consider it COMPLETELY unnecessary, and moreover, a waste of time.

That's a trick used by people that have not taken the time to learn how to propperly adjust a coil... I take the stuff right off the roll, spin the coil, and fire it... a couple of quick pokes to clear the shorts and it's done.

not sure if this has been covered... does the Standard ship with adjustable draw? Or do i have to buy that separate?

The adjustable draw cap will be available separately in July... all Zenesis PVs have adjustable TH.

Thanks wh01sjongalt,

I was thinking about just getting the Zenesis mini as it seems to be more solid as a whole (instead of having that little 510 connector holding it all togther), but if the variable, regulated, voltage of the provari is a substantial benefit to the system then I would definitely go with the Z-Atty-Pro. What do you all think? I have seen that the zen mini is pretty small as well (4.5"). Is that total height? Thanks again.

The Provari is not needed to get a great vape, and the adjustments, while they can tune things a bit, are really not a huge benefit on a mesh/coil atty.

ok...i dont know if "GG" is a bad word around here...but im trying to understand the draw...anyone with a GGTS and a Standard...can anyone compare the draw of the two? I usually have the air control on the GGTS all the way open.

The open draw which comes stock on the Zenesis PVs is a little more open than the GG at wide open with a fairly open atty or carto... but vaping a mesh coil atty requires a lighter pull in general, and most people that simply accept this find they prefer the open draw of the Zenesis to every other device they own once they use it for a while.

Also, you can talk about ANY PV YOU TO WANT in this thread, it's foolish to pretend other great PVs don't exist. We have all had others in the past, and some even have them now... I made the best PV I could... the rest is all about personal preference.

double apple shisha? where did you get it? Sounds awesome. I wanna try! I cant do 24mg though...im a 6-12mg guy.

thanks for the input. I enjoy my GGTS and Ody a lot, and i got a Line v2 i use with my Darwin, and i like the flavor, but i dont like the tight draw i get on it. I am excited for a full size genesis atomizer mod and excited it is coming from a US guy like zen. I have a ZattyU in the pipeline for my Darwin as well.

I like different mods for different feels...nothing wrong with having different feeling 'tastes' right? I only hesitate to talk of other mods here as i am not sure if there was a rule initiated at some point i am unaware of.

All i know is am excited to get a Zen standard in my rotation.

Anyways, thanks for the info!

I own several Dozen PVs... I use the Zenesis Mini most of the time... but the others are fun at times, but I'm to the point where I pretty much only use the Z-atty prototype on them, or those cheap tanks hoogie sells... they tsate like bung hole... but they can be convenient once ya get past the taste of moldy polyfill

Except for a few blocks of pages, I've read the entire thread... and let me tell you, those "few blocks" are haunting me! What happened? What was talked about? I just know I missed the best of the best lol.

So... with that said.... I have a question.
The Febbies APV's were Surgical Stainless Steel. (SSS).
Are the future APV's SSS?

ALL Standard and Minis are 316LVM Implant Grade Surgical Steel... the atty section of the Z-Atty products are also made of the same material. The BAM is Black Anodized Alumnium (and not really considered to be a Mini... it's a BAM... and the TI PVs will be entirely made of Titanium except the positive center post and the electrical connections.

I am floored that it arrived as I walked out the door to check the mail for the 3rd time. I took a video for myself to show me the way it should look when I re-wrap the coil. I doped it with some DYI 24mg unflavored nicotine for 20 minutes and then filled it with my fluid and started vaping. No harsh hits. Some hits were better than others in terms of flavor, but ultimatley I already know that I will not be dissapointed with the final flavor that I get once I get it completely broken in.

I am curious what setting my switch was set to? I remember him saying something about using the medium throw setting moving forward. Because of mini's smaller size, I have found my own way to comfortably fire it by thumbing the cap while pushing the pinky on the switch to make it comfortably fire and have also been playing with palm/squeezing it, but I need more practice.

The coils were perfectly setup, burned evenly after the residual fluid burned off, the wick was flawless, and the thing worked on the first button push. My battery shakes a little bit and will consider adjusting the screw if that will resolve it without causing it to loosen up, but honestly it's a minor detail and could care less.

THANKS ZEN, I AM VERY PLEASED & THOROUGHLY HAPPY WITH MY MINI. I can't weight (sic) to see how light the Mini Ti is and the finish you decide to go with.

I have 4 more Zeneses coming and will probably add a Z-ATTY-PRO for my new Mini-Provari-V2

PS: BTW...The plural of Zenesis is not Zenesi, that only applies to cacti and other words that end in 'us'...true story:p. I think Zenesi should be banned along with the word that shall not be mentioned that is a measure of the degree to which an object opposes an electric current through friction! :2c:

This is what happens when you do it right! Some people had the mesh and coil ripped out inside of 15 minutes of owning it!

You did EVERYTHING correctly...

I THINK the Zenesis is shipped with the switch set to regular. To change it to medium, take one of the two thin magnets and stick it to the larger magnet on the bottom of the switch (make sure the top and bottom magnets are resisting each other) and screw it back together. The low reisistance is set by taking one of the two thinner magnets out completely.

Everything NOW SHIPS with the switch set to MEDIUM tension... don't take it apart and break the magnets if it feels ok... you do not have to try every setting!

YOU CAN DO IT? Your suppose to do it in a cajun accent!

I will order the Shisha flavoring and try not to get in my own way. Thank's for telling me who to harass if I am unable to get it right.

Got it. Sweet!

Oh, Zen! While you're here... in light of PureSmoker's recent problems...
have you installed a your "agreement and check box" before check-out? I ran across a post from Christopher who mentioned that not only do the mods he carries have this agreement and check box, but a note is rolled into the tube of the mod stating exactly which batteries to use and no others. Of course, notes can get lost, but it helps to inform the ignorant.. but I might want to go one step further and tattoo/brand the bottom of the button or inside the tube with the recommended batteries....
I'm sure you're a step ahead already in your own way and can dismiss this post...

speaking of stores... hurryupCCpeople!!

I just got my Mini from the mailbox!! Now I'm scared to play with it.. It's just so.. Intimidating.. >.<;;

Congrats! I was where you are at a few hours ago. I am vaping with out any problems at all!
Put in a battery, drip some juice on the coil, fire it up, when the wick is pretty dry...look at the glowing coils momentarily to ensure they are evenly glowing (The bottom and top coil may take a few seconds to catch up to the rest of them), repeat this several times. I did that with about 2 ml of unflavored juice . They I filled it up and began vaping with no issues or harsh hits at all.

I would worry more when you have to replace the coil when it's finally kaput and even then I would not over think it like I tend to.

I tried wrapping a couple of coils without the burn and quench routine and they were much harder for me to wrap evenly, and they didn't want to stay where I put them. Maybe when I've had much more practice wrapping coils, I will be able to do it without the B&Q..........but not yet.

Annealing the wire does make it more flexible. It might be unnecessary, but it does make wrapping a coil easier for noobs, like me. I don't quench mine though. I just run it through the flame 4-5 times and I'm done. It's so thin, it only stay hot for a second. It only takes a few seconds to anneal it and I like piddling with stuff like this. It's FUN watching the wire glow!

O, this is rather different.... Still getting harsh burn hits, I hope I figure this out quick. I've adjusted the top every direction to get it less airy, but I'm so used to a harder pull......

that only adjusts throat hit point it right at wick for smooth vape, drawing slow helps too
