Here's the thing... as people, we tend to look at things like you have described as static and unchanging, because so very often we don't see change as it happens. It tends to sneak up on us.

But I KNOW you have change in your life, and it's change for the better...

For example... you're in a vaping forum making posts... I can anly assume that you're here because a MAJOR chnage in your life has taken place... and that's the switch from cigarettes to APVs, and there were very likely many steps along that path that let you here.

What some people call a rut, others call a life path... and on that path there are are many things different from day to day. This "rut" can be the path to futility, or the path to enlightenment.

If you walk down a path alongside a river each day... the water in that river is DIFFERENT WATER every single miniute of every single hour of every single day... Even the banks of the river are changing every moment!

The footsteps you follow may be your own, but if you take the time to fully engage in each moment of each day you will see the differences in each step...

There IS COMFORT in not seeing the changes as you pass by. But there is great joy in observing even the most subtle of changes.

Take a minute each day to realize THIS IS a new day... and make a game out of seeing the differences in each day, paying no attention to the sameness of it all... Look for the subtle differences in each day... What is different today?

My life has been an adventure, and an amazing one at that. I was raised by a brilliant man and loving mother to question authority. I learned how to observe and quantify my surroundings... and I became really empathic about the people with whom I find myself associated. I care about people, their experiences and troubles and I celebrate their successes.

But mostly... I share what I have and what I know. And ANYBODY can do that from any rut they happen to find themselves in. And by sharing your life and caring about others, that path we're calling a rut suddenly doesn't seem so awful, in fact... it's where great stuff happens.
To observse is to enlighten and expand the mind, it's a challenge to find the differences in the every day happenings, it makes life pleasurable not rutine. Very nice quote zen~.

Well, now I kinda have a crush on Zen~ :)

That's an excellent way to look at and live your life.

So zen's post inspired me in many ways.

One way was to start a new thread in the group where everyone can post their favorite quotes from the main thread.

These can be inspiring (like zen's)

Or funny (like most of mine :))

Whatever you like.

Remember the stupid 1000 limit. It took three posts to get Mike's in there.

Enjoy!

So question. Not really a "issue" per se.

Two of my magnet switches squeak or maybe are just rubbing a little.

Anyone know if there is a way to lube them up?

I tried taking it apart, but that did not work.

I just do not want them to be damaged from the rubbing.

Ask bumpi, I hear he's got lots of Vaseline.

The switch looks kind of simple, doesn't it?

But in reality, it's amazingly complex!

One thing that most people don't think about is that most switches have springs in them, and that spring carries the current from the switch contact to the body of the PV.

Well, those springs really sink a lot of current and rob the PV of power!

With the magnetic switch, there's no spring, so has anybody wondered how the current conducts to ground?

The Switch button has a slight amount of "play" in it... so when you push the button it tips a little to the side, and when the side of the button scrapes along the side of the switch housing/battery cover... it makes electrical contact across a pretty wide area conducting WAY more current than a spring ever could.

So long story short, the scraping is normal and entirely necessary!

People have asked why I don't use a flat top screw on the switch... and the reason is that a flat top can prevent the switch button from rocking to the side, and prevents it from firing.

A lot of thought went into something that looks really simple.

And some do make a little more noise than others... perfectly normal

Interesting, but springs don't detract from a PV's performance 1/10 as much as many vapers will lead you to believe they do. Checkout Imeo's youtube video comparing the metered voltage under loaded of a GGTS with and without a spring. What a spring does do that a magnet cannot is serve as a fuse incase your PV fires when you don't intend it to (like in your pocket for instance).
But that being said, magnetic buttons are probably a better option for most vapers, myself included (my older GGTS and GGTB buttons with the 3 magnets are my favorite buttons currently)

Springs SEVERELY limit current... and Mesh coil attys LOVE current...
Well then why can't we run a genesis atomizer at 7.4, or even 6 volts?

Those springs are like 24-28 gauge? At 28 gauge, you're looking at about 0.065 ohms per foot according to this table, so the spring probably has about 0.01ohms of resistance, if that unless my math is wrong

American Wire Gauge (AWG) Wire-Size Chart
You used all those numbers but no mention of anything regarding the number of wraps you put around your wick? All of this empirical evidence is just too much for me man...

Number of wraps depends on the length of the wire.
You can even measure and calculate the right length to get the desired resistance, than wrap it around the wick. :)
