I'm curious about the discussion re lubricating the threads. They are so lovely, silky-smooth right now. Should I use Naolox or Vaseline to keep them that way? I have both. Don't start, ya'll. I have both in normal, minimal quantities.

Oh, and quotes: One of my favorites is by the author, Tom Robbins. Goes like this, "It's never too late to have a happy childhood."

For the threads, I'd use Vaseline for one simple reason. Naolox can stain things like clothes when it comes into contact with them.

You definitely want Naolox to prevent oxidation on your battery and the two screw heads in the Zenesis--the one up inside the body tube, and the one in the switch. It prevents oxidation while conducting electricity.

Vaseline is just a lubricant, and all you (might) want to do to your threads is lube them ever so slightly. Personally, I haven't seen the need. The threads on mine are exceptional.

Zen, my husband has threatened to extend his fishing vacation indefinitely, because all I talk about is a ZAP!! He is supposed to be home on the 14th of May. Crossing my fingers that there ready by then cause I don't think he has enough vacation hours racked up to stay gone until my BAM gets here! Would it be considered stalking if I showed up on your doorstep?

Thanks, Mr. White,

Are you saying I should also put a dab of Naolox on the battery ends, as well as the two screwheads? Hope I'm not annoying anyone - I just want to do everything right to make my Zini last forever and stay as beautiful as possible....

I use DeoxIT Pro Gold; I like the pen-version because it fits in the Mini-Zenesis Case, and is not as messy as Naolox (It's clear/yellowish liquid and with the pen version is perfect for hitting the screws and battery ends with no spillage and mess. Most of it evaporates within 2-3 minutes and the residual is an invisible layer that prevents further oxidation. I used to use it often to remove and prevent oxidation from inputs, outputs, speakers connections, & especially vacuum tube sockets in tube preamps and PP/SET Tube amplifiers because they get pretty oxidized from using N.O.S. (New/Never been used, but old stock) vacuum tubes.

DeoxIT® Gold G-Series - Contact Enhancer, Conditioner & Protector
(formerly ProGold)

DeoxIT® Gold (formerly ProGold), is a unique conditioning solution that improves conductivity and provides long-lasting protection on gold, base metals and other precious metal contacts and connections (gold, silver, rhodium, copper, bronze, nickel, etc.).

Use on plated connectors, contacts and metal surfaces for maximum performance and protection.

Recommended for critical applications where only slight cleaning action is necessary. If the surface looks clean, applying DeoxIT D-Series contact cleaner first is usually not necessary. DeoxIT® Gold is designed to dissolve small amounts of oxidation. Apply DeoxIT® Gold after DeoxIT® D-Series contact cleaner on plated metal surfaces, except where noted with DeoxIT® Shield S-Series below. The more critical the connection or part, especially low current applications, DeoxIT® Gold should be the final step.
For reference, DeoxIT® Gold has approximately 0.5% cleaning action.

KEY FEATURES:

Improves Conductivity

Maintains Optimum Signal Quality

Protects Base Metals from Oxidation

Prevents Dendrite and Fretting Corrosion

Forms Protective Anti-Tarnishing Layer

Reduces Arcing, RFI and Intermittent Connections

Reduces Wear and Abrasion

Temperature Range, -34 C to +240 C

Zen-bouy's! I like the name and the idea. Now, to make them smaller...

So sorry to hear about your Zenesis, Nim! I hope the huge magnet (east to west or north to south?) works to pull it up from the depths of it's misery.

"that path we're calling a rut suddenly doesn't seem so awful, in fact... it's where great stuff happens."
So, do tell, ... what's so great about not making it through the 3rd Temple Run slide?

you really need a polycarbonate tank. do you have a way to get or make one?

also, yesterday I purchased a cheap nylon knife holder, slit a hole in the top so that the drip tip could poke through for my mini. It holds the cap in place and is super thin so I can keep it in my pocket.

someone also mentioned the mag lite mini flashlight holster will fit a mini - i'll have to check out knife holsters now too
