OK, so lets talk for a minute... hypothetically speaking...

IF by chance, I found a crystal clear material that exceeds the ability of Pyrex to be impervious to liquids... ie. your juice has absolutely NO ability to damage it... and by chance, I can get it in the correct tubing size to use as the tank on the Zenesis PVs and Z-attys...

And what if there was NO additional machining required to make this happen...

The only thing is waiting to have the material cut may take a week... but we are already delayed by the machine shop anyway...

And I am 98% percent certain based on thorough and exhausting calculations that there is plenty of clearance and it won't have the thermal expansion issue....

Those are the upsides...

The downside possible delay of a few extra days...

It's expensive... but not to worry, I'm not changing the price of anything, I'm just commenting that it's expensive and replacement tanks will cost a bit more...

Anyway...

By my calculations, experiments and knowledge of materials, I would like to propose that the Zenesis Hyprid PV and and Z-attys... starting with THIS shipment... would be the FIRST and ONLY PV or tank for that matter to be supplied with...

A Fused Quartz Tubing Tank section.

It blows Pyrex out of the water...

It's EXOTIC!

And it's what REPLACED Pyrex in most serious labs.

Because it's better...

This is exciting stuff... should we do it?

Zenfidels... ESPECIALLY the Febbies...

What say you?

Wow Zen! You keep pulling exotic rabbits out of your hat! I am all for exotic! You might want to test out the thermal expansion before you ship it all over the world though. How shatterable/ shatterproof are these?

Hmmm. Well, it is certainly interesting.

First and foremost for me, I'm anxious to get my Zenesis so the thought of additional delays gives me a case of sadface :(
What's the latest word from the machine shop?

As for the fused quartz:
  • Does it not have the same vulnerabilities Pyrex does, i.e the high probability/certainty of breakage due to the expansion & contraction of the pv itself?
  • How strong is it in terms of impact resistance?
  • Has any testing been done in this application?
  • Have you actually fitted the new material to the Zenesis and given it a whirl?
  • How much longer would the wait be?
  • How much would a replacement tank be if it were offered after the Zensis shipped with the original tank?

If it can handle the demands of the application I think it's a phenomenal find but for me it really comes down to how long the delay would be.

Hey Zen, two things. First, is the new material bullet proof too? That would be Fricken awesome. :) "man shot in bank robbery gone bad. But was saved by a z-atty from the house of hybrids carried in his shirt pocket"
Second, I went to your site and inquired about getting a z-atty for my new provari I will b getting soon but have not heard back. Just wondering cause I get my bonus next week and I'm looking to stock up on some things.

The temp shift to make the steel shift enough to cause a problem would be larger than you can survive.

One question would you still have the poly and the quartz replacements for those that would want a spare on hand?

I would forgo the poly entirely and keep an inventory of Quartz tubes, I believe.

What is the difference in price point, like how much more do we owe you? (Your profit is already small enough as it is)

no change in price... I want to build and deliver the best PV I can...

Mike, I say do what YOU feel is right. I can wait a few days (I am a Februarian) longer for something like this. My only question, have you tested it in this application and how hard is it going to be for you to work with? If you are that confident, then do it. If not, test it and use in March, I gotta Z-Atty-G coming in March, and would just add this to my order for my Feb Zen-mini.
