My good news is my mouth and throat have cleared up since I sent my zenesis(s) to the angry chair for a time out (is that good news? I think that's good news).

I'm neither a doctor nor a scientist nor do I play either on TV but it seems almost certain that at least some of these pre-installed wicks were/are contaminated with machine oil.

Maybe tomorrow I'll tackle the field strip and scrub down .. do we have a vid yet?

This is my first gen type atty, so I'm learning still. I see a lot of people are having wicking problems still. When I went to boba's, I had to go to the 325 mesh b/c it's 100% VG. I couldn't get it to wick and I played with it, rewrapped it, tried bottle wetting it and burning several times, etc. What I ended up doing was to unroll it slightly, cut about a quarter inch off along the length, re-roll it, put it back in. Then I left the height about even with the center post nut so there was wick at the top that could get wet, but wasn't getting heat from the coil. I THINK that makes it easier to get it wet, and stay that way, if you are getting a lot of dry hits you might try this. I can pretty much just keep hitting on it and not get a dry hit now. I'm not saying yet it is the correct way or the BEST way, but I'm very happy with how it's running right now. Aside from switching to a high PG juice to all VG, I've not had any problems at all. From the time I switched to the VG until I got it burning right took about an hour - hour and a half.
VG-user here... your suggestion is working great for me... thanks a bunch...

All these pics make me want my Zenesis even faster!!

Stop teasing me guys...I can't take it anymore!

I love / dislike it .... ok keep teasing me :)

the excess juice looks similar to the "juicy condensation" I get when I dont listen to my own advice and draw and and vape alot ................ yes I def see myZenself doing the same thing

Just trying to help ............ wish i could articulate my mind into words better. well maybe not that could be dangerous

My :2c:

The report of all the juice in the top cap. I know Zen~ mentioned it... "Only fill half way and try"...

Well the tank on my mini holds "4ml"... So when I fill the tank, when the liquid gets to about 2mm from the top, it starts coming out all over the atomizer chamber base through the wick. I noticed that if I attempt to fill it all the way very carefully (which is easier with a smaller needle btw), when I put the top cap on and vape it, it will flood as soon as I start vaping. I had immediately noticed it not vaping right after a fill, pulled the top cap, and literally dumped a good amount of juice. So I have learned the sweet spot and don't try to over fill the tank. Since then, it has done fine. Sure I get a lot of condensate in the top cap, but I think that is indicative of a nice wet wick/coil and I just stopped paying attention to it and vape away. As long as the flavor and vapor are good, I don't mess with it, and have vaped oh... 6-8 (3/4) tanks through it already since Thursday afternoon.

Zen~ has produced a GREAT USA made hybrid PV that is the basis for the vaper to create/rebuild their own atomizers. One in which I am certainly impressed with. After realizing my batts had build up on the terminals and fixing that, it fires ~95% of the time... I do find the bottom button a little finicky though, but Zen~ is attempting to address that and doing so in the manner that makes me have confidence that it will be resolved one way or another. He is taking his responsibility very seriously from what I have seen so far. BZ.

Otherwise the equation is the liquid, the wick, the coil, and the end user. This all comes down to that end user and is not controllable by Zen~ or anyone else. Zen~ attempted with pre-made wicks and by providing a wick/coil setup already in the Zenesis. If the wick/coil setup that it came with is not working for you, then pulling it and building your own starts you down that path of genisis, especially if your pre-built wicks swelled and will not fit. Trust me when I tell you, once you find the sweet spot build for your chosen liquid and vaping style, you will be blown away in how it performs. It's getting there that is the journey. You have to be patient. Zen~ mentioned a wick fairly tight in the wick hole. I like mine slightly loose... as in I can slide in and out very easily, but it doesn't wiggle. I roll my wicks around a needle when I build them. I also, roll them very tight between my thumb and index around that needle. But I have found different results with how tight I make that wick, because I can also vary the width of the wick cut and then roll it loosey or tighty to make it fit in that hole. I have found what works with my liquid through experimentation. I do not pinch off the top (mine looks like a straw), and leave a few mm of wick above the top coil. My top cap does not mess with it unless I angle it to much taking it off/on. It takes some time and patience to get YOUR setup, but it is worth it in the long run. Then there is the oxidation, coil wrap, and hookup. You really don't want hot spots, and a gap between the coil and +/- terminals is another culprit to those nasty hotspots (which can be addressed with some silver wire or a small washer). You don't want that coil to tight OR to loose either, it needs to make full contact but not cut into the oxidation of the wick, I like to hit my kanthal with a lighter to make it less springy and easier to wrap. Bottom line, watch some videos to get the general idea. Then try to build your own. Break it in and USE IT FOR A FEW HOURS - to a DAY. If it doesn't wick, vape it horizontal, or tip it between vapes. Keep trying until you get one that wicks your liquid properly for the # of coils you are running with. Eventually you will find a perfect setup and have loads of experience on what works and doesn't for YOU. That's the beauty of this type of setup. I have witnessed many quit on a genisis type setup over the last year or so... They found it to fiddly. Well once you got a setup that works, it is not fiddly at all, it's fill it, change the battery, and go. I have been running the same setup in a Line now for 2 months and done nothing to it but vape it.

For Zen~ and his pre made wicks. I build wicks and then will pull them for later use. I dry them on a paper towel and drop them in a little baggy. They don't expand. Later for use, I just drip some liquid on them and put them into use and they work just fine. Maybe sending the pre-mades dry may prevent the expansion? Or maybe you have an issue with that for some reason. But it works from my experiences.

I guess we will see a video today from master Zen~. It is very simple to fix the wicks he sent, which I am sure he will show. I also look fwd to this new improved Zen way of building coils.

Sorry for the long post.

Just wondering what people are finding as an average battery life run time using there 18350 Mini's

Roughly a tank. I fill my tank, I change my battery. I use an expandable plastic cigar case single to hold 4 batts and drop it in my work bag, just in case.

I would also like to add. Initially my top cap came off to easy, I wrapped a sewing thread around the groove for the o-ring and placed the o-ring back in the groove. It tightened it up. Now after three days of use, the top cap is so tight, it is slightly difficult to take on/off. So IMO listening to Zen~ and patience pays off.

serpent... say no to stacking... stacking batteries is the number one reason for explosions... remember last month with the guy in florida? guess what... stacked batteries. never ever stack batteries if you want a face or have obscene amounts of protection. zen would be livid if he found out people were being stupid and stacking batteries in his precious mod. there is no point to it

Has anyone stacked a couple 18350's in a Standard with an appropriate coil and went HV yet?

Could it, should it, would it be done??
I've considered the same thing. I think zen frowns on that because of the possibility of battery detonation. I have made my own pv a real mod. I used a 60.00 flashlight that uses two three volt batteries 17340. they are not protected. vaping at my own risk. So if you do that you'll be vaping at your own risk. Don't do it. Buy a kick. http://www.electronicstix.com/THE-KICK-p923.html Short Circuit Protection: The Kick will detect shorts in the connection between the Kick and the coil. This sensor is sensitive and if it detects short, the Kick will not fire. If you experience this, unthread your firing button and check all connections and then gently re-thread button until only finger-tip snug. If device still will not fire, try a different battery. This is designed both as a safety feature and to protect the components of the Kick module.

Also I am an automotive tech that was trained as a generator mech in the army. I know a little about batteries and current and so forth. I would recommend that you be very cautious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you feel it getting hot you should put it down and clear the area or dissemble it as quickly as possible you may have a bad short and that is what causes catastrophic failure. http://www.electronicstix.com/THE-KICK-p923.html. Battery safety: Please read the information on ECF and your battery supplier about recommended battery maintenance and overall battery safety in charging and using your batteries. Older batteries may not function as well as newer batteries. If a battery ever shows any sign of damage (torn or cracked outer surface, dents, or other), please discontinue all use of that battery and dispose of it in an approved battery recycling facility.

IF, FOR ANY REASON, YOU EXPEREINCE A BATTERY THAT OVER-HEATS, PLEASE IMMEDIATELY DISCONTINUE USE OF THAT BATTERY. IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE USING YOUR KICK MODULE - PLEASE NOTIFY EVOLVAPOR USING THE "CONTACT US" LINK ON THE EVOLVAPOR.COM WEBSITE.
