Hey folks... I just want to pop in and say a few words about the way last night ended...

As many of you know, we had a contest that SHOULD have been fun and it turned... well... ugly at the end.

I was feeling jubilant about hitting 20,000 posts in the thread, and my original plan was to try to hit the 20,000th post myself... but about 5 minutes prior to that I decided it would be MORE FUN for me and everybody in the thread to make a contest to see who could hit that post, and give away a nice prize.

That's when all hell broke loose, at least in my mind, anyway.

People saw TWO winners, results changing right before our eyes and I decided it wasn't fair to tell a guy that saw his post number change end up being a loser instead of a winner! So I gave away two prizes.

Then the Tapatalk results showed different winners on not one but SEVERAL phones... so I polled the results and no two were the same.

I made the decision to stick with the "official online thread"... then the PMS came POURING IN from people that were not posting in the thread, but present in the "room". People were DEMANDING that I post all the tapatalk results as well.

And the entire time...

Our poor friend ASH was fueling the fire.

I KNOW it wasn't his intention to fuel this fire, and believe me when I tell you, I have reread the thread about 15 times. He meant absolutely no harm.

But MEANING to do no harm and actually doing no harm can be two different things.

The more he posted the nastier the PMs became.

I asked ASH to let things go... then I TOLD him to let things go... Then I INSISTED... and ASH just kept going.

ASH, language barrier and all, was on a roll... Undaunted... he continued.

Was I heavy handed with him?

Yes I was...

Did I humiliate him...

Sadly, I did.

I just needed him to stop. Sooner than later.

He had NO WAY of knowing what was happening behind the scenes...

And yeah, I hit him pretty hard, and while I feel it was pretty awful of me to do... I had to make him stop.

So that being said...

ASH, I'm sorry... I was just trying to make the situation stop escalating, and I truly didn't mean to humiliate you in any way.

You are welcome in the thread, and I value your presence here.

So please accept my apology.

Am I the only one who didn't think ASH was being an ASSh? I totally felt he was having fun, but with broken translation, it came out wrong, apparently. I felt he tried to "clarify" when called out. I'm heartbroken that things went sour for the thread, Zen, and him as well. ((((((( hugs )))))) to all.

I agree with you....somewhat. I think for him it was all in good fun and due to cultural differences, broken translation and no face-to-face communication, he was unable to grasp what we recognize to be "shut up already", "you don't know when to shut up", "...." (excuse me), "let it go" all meant to be taken as "you are getting on my last nerve!". I think he genuinely thought even Zen was joking....but I cringed when after Zen's second warning of "let it go!", he continued to have at it. But, then again, "let it go" and "leave it alone" all amount to the same no matter what language/culture, no? I wish I thought of PMing him before/while he continued to post...to tell him to "chill" and state exactly what I've written here. I feel bad for him and Zen as well.....

And here also right , I didnt get that thing just became worest with what m saying so fo first warn I didnt note it at all , when I saw the big one it was late as I click on post.

English is my third language and it ain´t that broken. I think he was a bit greedy/selfish/inconsiderate



I´ve been in retail all my life and I´m with you OB on this one. Been on internet forums +10 years and it might get intense else where too but not like this.

Man u right but no at all I idnt ment to begreedy/selfish or inconsiderate yes english is your 3'd lang and for me it's 2'd And on my work we just talk English as our Comp is Inter-Nat. but let me explain a thing for you , talking english totally different than wright it with the original ppl who talk.wright in english.
The thing is like i some one Proficenal in Arabic but Arabic not his first lang so when he will wright it or talk I will know that it's different. and the reson is the expration that will use, that what hapened with me I lost when things became for expration SORRY guys I dont talk to Amrican ppl all the day so it's just I need some time to know every thing and get how to handel this things.
Hope you get my point now, butbelieve me I thought every thing was fine and am just withmy funny comment relaxing all around so I thought that am doing good.


In the end I feel with Zen am with my family even that I dont have Zenisis yet but soon hope I will and I will be just Proud for that.
