Very nice, love that alien head! Goes great with the pluid in there.

Good morning all!

The alien edition *ASH* has landed in Georgia.

One thing to note that may not have been mentioned yet and may be a change to all future Zenesis rba. Both screws in the Zen atomizer use the same size wrench.

Jonner, take the cap off and look at your coil while firing. Notice any one coil glowing hotter than others? Could be a short. Nudge the questionable coil until it glows evenly with the rest. Also, double-check that the wick is neither touching the base of the tank, nor protruding higher than the post at the top.

Sorry to be a pain with all of my questions but none of my coils glow until I hit 12-13 seconds, and then the bottom-most coil doesn't glow at all. I'm going to play around with it after I get some lunch. If anyone's available to take this to pm around 1:30ish, I'd appreciate it, if I don't get her running right by then.

You're not being a pain, Jonner. It's a learning curve for all of us.

I won't be around, or I'd help. It's my day off and I've got kind of a wild hair notion to take myself over to the Hard Rock in Tampa and play a little Blackjack. Feel like I've forgotten how to have fun. Only problem with gambling for fun is that winning is a blast, losing, hmmm, not so much. But, then, I suppose all of life's a gamble....

May just be heavily gunked and lots of juice - the bottom not glowing kinda says this to me.

It just arrived this morning. Brand new from Zen~. Could it be gunked already? Sounds a bit more like a short to me. Or a bad connection somewhere. Jonner did you make sure the screws are all snugged up? The Switch and Positive screws had both worked loose in shipping on mine.

I'm convinced it's a short but I can't figure out where. It does taste metallic. I took off top cap and after 9 seconds of firing it, the wick caught fire at the bottom coil?! Should coils glow soon after firing? Mine don't, not at all. Need to eat but can't stop playing trying to get it to work. I'm going to eat and then I think I might have to take her apart and try to wrap a new coil, nervous about that>

Jonner, that's just because you have juice in your tank. It always takes much longer for any glowing when the wick is wet, and especially so for the bottom coil. Ideally, checking for shorts should take place before you load up with juice the first time. But, you can use your syringe to get all the juice out, and then check for shorts (ie, check for evenly glowing coils). If any do not glow to the same intensity as others, just nudge them a bit with the tip of the syringe until fixed. (Just saw Zen do a demonstration of this on Saturday :))

If you have juice it the tank, it's going to be tough to get the bottom coil to glow. If the juice is at a low enough level, you can tilt it so that there is no juice touching the wick, and pulse it till the juice dries out of the wick. With a fresh battery and a dry wick, it should only take a couple of seconds for the coils to glow.

That's the last thing you should do! (Also straight from Zen). You can make the shipped coil work perfectly - you just have to do that bit of checking, nudging.
