Sure you can put the battery in "upside down". It's just the current flows one way or the other. ;) Top to bottom or bottom to top. :) It's all the same in the end.

As long as it doesn't complete the circuit to itself, there is no difference.

This is true, however if using a kick, the kick needs the body of the PV to be negative. Otherwise you are reversing the flow of electricity through the kick, and that, I imagine, would be a big no no...

Nudged um around a whole bunch, no sign of them firing. Where might the short be if there was one?

It's most likely in the wick hole. Where the wick is touching the sides.. if the wick isn't oxidized enough it will short there overtime.. either there or the bottom of the tank..

The short is probably not where you think it is...
Most likely, the top coils are the ones shorting, getting hotter, and vaporizing the juice / glowing first... Try nudging those a bit.

I don't mean not firing as in not glowing i mean not firing as in no vapor production in that area and the coil is fresh wrapped and those 3 are still silver not even blackening with the juice...

I'm in the club without a doubt:) -Although I have to admit I did have to have a few unkind words with my Mini this evening :glare: Vaped her on the way to the restaurant for supper this evening and after getting seated at the restaurant I slipped her into my purse while we ate. When we left the restaurant I went to grab her out of my purse and realized she'd fallen over and every drop of juice in her tank was now in the bottom of my purse 8-o  It was bound to happen eventually BUT dang a bit of a mess to have to clean up upon arriving home. Note to self: Never ever put my mini in my purse again without being absolutely certain she can't fall over, especially when I've just filled the tank ;)

Been there , done that LOL

Made sure the wick was well oxidized whole length, don' think it's touching the bottom either.. posts are stiff and firm.

Take a cotton ball and unroll the cotton ball, pull your wick and eyeball the location your wick passes through the wick hole, now roll the wick on the cotton ball lightly so that a small amt of cotton wraps on the area your wick will pass through the hole. Not a ton, you should still see some of the black from the wick through the cotton, if it's fully white then that is to much. Now insert and wrap your coil again. Doing this will give you an insulator from shorting in the wick hole.

The kick can't go in upside down @ the bottom? I dunno as I sold my kick with my PAPS lol, but I just can't wrap my head around why it wouldn't work.

Oh yea gotta make sure the coil isn't toooo tight, but not too loose either

If the kick is at the bottom upside down, and the battery is positive side down, the body of the PV would be positive. The ground spring on the kick touches the body, and needs to be touching the negative side of the circuit. It would short out the kick. When the kick is used properly, the load (coil) is the only path between the ground spring and + pole on the kick. I can't say if it would damage the kick or not, but I can't see how it would work, and I wouldn't recommend trying it.
