Wow is this thread moving fast!
By the time I read through and get caught up I have to leave to do something else.

I have a question though, about something I noticed during the Kurt, Cozz and CEO discussion the other night.

Does BE have any chemists on staff?
Every time Kurt and Cozz would start talking to the CEO about his chemist's, he would come back with "My INDEPENDENT chemists."
There is nothing on their website that says anything about mixing custom chemicals. I think they are just a reseller that stumbled into the nicotine business. The CEO never really mentioned his chemists doing the testing in house anywhere in the conversation the other night, or in his e-mails. That could explain the QC issues. The CEO doesn't have qualified staff doing or checking the mixes. They probably impact his pocketbook too much.

Does anyone know if there are chemists actually employed at Box Elder?

Pete

I think an earlier post showed him to be outsourcing that work to TPA...but I could be wrong...in fact, I usually am. :p

Yeah, I kinda knew that. I didn't want to mention names, yet I wanted to make a smart ... remark about it. I have been wanting to say this for a couple of days now, though.

We know that the percentage of vapors on ECF, or any of the other boards for that matter, is relatively small. But, I would venture to guess that most people who aren't on forums are using their brands that they buy in convenient stores, or the ones that advertise heavily with expensive refill cartridges or cartos. They are most likely buying those expensive refills, and not ordering liquids to fill them. At the very least, it's probably a 99.9 percent assurance that they aren't making their own juice either. Seems to me that anyone who is buying from companies like BE, is already on these forums and reading the information. I don't think anyone could have really come up with DIY methods without being here to start.

That all said, I'm sure there is a small percentage of people who have been here, started their DIY, and haven't come back because they just don't chit-chat. It doesn't mean that the word has to get out like that. If GV juice has bothered someone, they've just got to stop vaping it. We have a couple of examples here of people opening the high concentrated bottles and smelled it right away. As said before, this is an issue that we could have taken care of ourselves. As they say, money talks. You tell the vendor of a problem, and then use your wallets if they don't respond.

I guess if it's out, it's out. Just wasn't necessary, imho.

Okay...Another question.

Has anyone done a Google Street View on Google maps?
I have tried the address listed on the website and only come up with a residential area.
This is a link to the address on Google Maps Street View.
I was looking to see what kind of building Box Elder was located in and this is all I could find.

1170 Sycamore Dr, Brigham City, Box Elder, Utah 84302 - Google Maps

Anyone actually find an address for them? Ya know...A building that says Box Elder on the front?

Said mrgordon in post 697,

I wouldn't be too worried about it too quickly. Do what I do. Watch the news. When you see this story hit the news, then you can start to worry. It seems to me that the government worries about things when the masses of people worry about things. If the general public doesn't know about our little snafu in this relatively small community, then it usually stays this way....small and unnoticed by everyone.

One of my investment areas is startup biotech companies. They need FDA approval of their drug or treatment to get it to market. Without FDA approval, they're sunk, and I lose my investment when the stock zeroes out. In the past, it used to be fairly easy to figure out what the FDA would do, based on investigation of the potential market and competitors, the science and the FDA-mandated trial results. Especially in the last few years, it's become a total crapshoot as to what the FDA will do -- they've even begun to turn down new drugs or treatments based on cost, which is totally beyond their legislated mandate! Thus, I've developed a profound, and I think justified, fear of the FDA's capriciousness and arbitrariness.

And with regard to vaping hardware and software, the FDA has shown clearly by their past actions that they can instantly make those goods unavailable except by smuggling. All it takes is one FDA minion, with a burning torch up his or her fundament over an incident just such as this, to make USP-grade nicotine about as obtainable to law-abiding folks as powerful opioid pain-killers.

Keep in mind, that also may just be the address that they have their business registered to, doesn't necessarily mean that they run their business there. For instance, I have my little shop registered to my home address, but that doesn't mean that I don't have another location where I do all of the work for my business.

Though I don't know by what miracle I found it again. Is there any way to search on this forum and go to specific posts and not just the whole thread?

When you do a search, click the button that says search posts.

Also, when you find the thread, you can click up at the top where it says 'search thread'.

Levy does his own titration tests. He is a very trusted nic source.

Kurt thanks again for the testing work and helping us sort this out. With that said are you now going to make a policy of promoting nic vendors? I believe you just bumped up the stock of XtremeVaping about 100 points ;-) You're word is now very valuable, and you have people wanting to help defer your costs, this could become a very slippery slope.

have you tested XtremeVaping Nic, if you have and trust them I will buy from them. As a former BE customer and DIY'er, I wont trust any Nic vendor for some time.

Thanks again for your support of the community.

Well I traveled down the street (Virtually not for real) until I came to this house.
Notice the 1170 painted on the curb by the driveway?

I also cross checked this using Mapquest with the same results.

Pete

It wouldn't suprise me if it was a residential address. There are many vendors/suppliers that run their businesses out of their houses.

I've worked in the newspaper/advertising business for more than 20 years and if there's one thing I've learned, it's 'buyer beware'. Creative marketing can turn a frog into a prince. This could be said for any business, vape related or not, that doesn't have a storefront.

"Off-site facility" could mean "detached garage".
"Labeling Dept." could mean "dining room table".
"Processing Dept." could mean "kitchen table".
"Shipping Dept." could mean "the porch".

Exactly. It's the same thing as in the Patent Office: random and capricious. And given that it's the same slapstick crew that is doing regulation-related work when they're not doing prohibition-related work, the people who idolize regulation have no idea who and what they're inviting into the chicken coop.

Somehow our regulated and ISO certified Big Pharma and Big Tobacco manage to kill more people than BE and all the 10 bottle a week juice vendors with their proverbial snot-nosed kids and pizza crust laden mixing tables.

The people who get a kick out of chewing on moral indignation over human error must wake up each morning amazed that the sun is up again.

imo there is no point in looking for recommendations. kurt cannot predict what will happen at a nic vendor's place tomorrow or next week.
BE, i'm sure, sent out hundreds or thousands of orders before this happened and might be the safest place to order from atm due to this turmoil. that is if you didn't get turned off by the way they handled this.

I that a box elder tree in the yard?

Why does the physical location have any bearing on the problem? It wasn't a contamination issue.

Well...The other night the CEO seemed very full of himself, I was just wondering what his business looked like. Was it shiny glass skyscraper or broken down service station? I haven't been able to find a REAL building for Box Elder Chemicals, Gourmet Vapors or Honeyville. Those are all the CEO's companies. Oh...I almost forgot...Bacher Enterprises and also perhaps Lynx Checkout.

When you input into Google maps the addresses of these so called businesses it returns vacant lots in residential areas for the most part, or that house that I linked to earlier. Don't you think at least 1 of these 5 businesses should at least have a storefront? The CEO was talking like he had a large organization, but you can't really find it on the internet? It just seems fishy to me.

I mean just where does he mix this stuff?
Where is he shipping from?
What does it look like?
Does it appear to be a reputable business?

I am just curious.

As Kurt said, it was high quality juice, but incorrect nicotine content.

If they were smart they'd just put a sincere apology on the website. Say we understand your concern, we don't think there's a problem or we're looking into the issue. If you have any concerns about liquid you purchased, contact us immediately and we'll replace it or give you a refund.
Big apology, blah blah blah, we're looking into it.

I feel a little uncomfortable with scouting out locations. If someone wants to do that, feel free but it shouldn't be board fodder. This was what was done to another supplier, even with pictures of them posted. I thought that was just wrong.

We're all aware of it now. Just don't buy juice from there until they make changes.
