First of all, how can I try to convert smokers if most of them cough when I let them try my PV? I remember quitting smoking on the first day of vaping, and I loved it, no cough whatsoever, so I'm shocked that so many smokers would find vaping harsh. Should I just advise them to vape more and "get use to it"?

In addition, what flavor (tobacco, fruit, bakery, menthol) do you recommend to have them try first? In another word, which group of flavor is the "safest", appeals to the largest amount of people?

Lastly, what mg nicotine do you recommend? I've successfully quit on 36 mg juice knowing I'm highly addicted on nicotine. I'm not sure I could've quit on day one if I tried 24 mg juice.

thanks

It may be the way that they inhale the vapor that makes them cough or feel that it's harsh. A lot of the smokers I knew would direct lung inhale. Seems to be easier on them if they take in a mouthful of vape then inhaling the vapor after removing the ecig from their mouth.

Tastes are too subjective. If they liked using menthol cigarettes, I'd have them try different menthols first. As for those that just smoked regular, you could try starting them on some tobacco flavors, but I'd try getting an idea of a favorite food (fruit, bakery good, etc.) and maybe have them try something similar.

As for nicotine, I've heard that if less than a pack a day, 12-18mg. A pack a day, 18-24mg. 1+pack or more, 24-36mg. Again, just a loose suggestion. My GF was a pack, pack and a half a day smoker and she quit while using 12mg juices. 18mg juices actually made her jittery.

Hello, Quietvibes it would be very difficult to choose a liquid that most people would like. My son makes our liquids,so we have the luxury of trying many different combos. When I first tried vaping, he let me try some DK Tobacco he had purchased and I was hooked! My tastes have changed greatly and rapidly. I used to vape Dunhill and DK Tobacco with a few drops of his proprietary strawberry, fruity blend called Flamingo. Now I prefer the tobaccos that are woodsy and/or spicy (ie, Perique Black and Black Fire) instead of the sweeter ones. My son and husband still prefer sweet flavors.

I started on 24mg nicotine with an eGo C. It worked just fine for me, but which Ecig you choose, how often you vape and many other variables come in to play. I was smoking 2 1/2 packs per day on a 25 year habit. You certainly don't want to make yourself sick on nicotine, but you don't want to have the awful cravings for a cigarette either. Again, that is just up to each persons taste and comfort. I am now down to 6mg nicotine in just over 6 months, but if I stepped down to quickly, I would still use the higher strength to satisfy.

You might try the DK Tobacco as your "try me" vape. It is what my son uses to let others try and has never had anyone hand it back to him with the "bitter beer face". Good luck with helping others in trying to quit. I really do owe my son my life and that is a debt I can never repay. Just imagine how many more years he has to listen to Mom's unsolicited advice!

I was a PAD smoker, Camel Filters, and I just about coughed up a lung on the first hit every time I picked up an ecig. I've never heard of direct inhaling a cigarette...I would never think of it. The other thing is that a lot of people talk about throat hit, and to be honest I never felt a thing inhaling my cigarettes. Just the "fullness" of the smoke. So I don't get the throat hit thing...it feels harsh to me.

Once I reduced the PG in the juices I was using there was no issue. You might try to get at least a 50/50 blend for when you want to show someone--that might help.

Most of the people I have helped have had problems at first with a tank and vv equipment. It was just to powerful for them. They would cough like crazy but when they tried the smaller batt with a carto they were fine. Def start with 12mg. I think it must just take awhile to get used to the amount of vapor some of the better equip provides.

I'd go with a medium-high dose of nicotine (18-24 mg) and some sort of flavor along the lines of vanilla, chocolate, or sweeten up a coffee flavor with some vanilla. Those seem like good transitional flavors that aren't too terribly far off the smoke taste they're used to and probably expecting. Tobacco flavors never taste quite like their cigarette counterparts and may disappoint some folks. But introducing them to flavors other than tobacco may fancy their taste buds a bit more and get their curiosity going about whatever else there may be.

That's my :2c:

If a smoker asks me, I will let them try and give them any information they want. My family? Well, I do try a little harder. I really don't care to "convert" anyone, sounds way to much like religion to me.

+1
I was a 2pad menthol and started with Dkang 18mg whatever there Marlboro Menthol equiv is but added xtra menthol to my own liking.
Started my wife,2 sisters, brother, 3 sons and a daughter on the same.:toast:
We have all moved on to our own favs non of which are cig flavored and most are down close to 0mg nic.

I don't understand the need to convert people.

Not people...smokers. Smokers aren't people...at least that's what the FDA and the ANTZ say.

That said, it's technique I believe that's making them cough (or at least a prime component). Have them draw the vapor into their mouths, hold it a few seconds, and then inhale. That should help. Also, carry some nice strawberry menthol with you. The menthol should help and the strawberry...well...it's strawberry!
