Actually I stumbled upon ECF while searching for "Marlboro tobacco flavoring" as my initial intention was just to grow my own tobacco and avoid the huge tax increase of RYO cigarette tobacco. Electronic cigarette?? Read, Read, Read.....Well curiosity got the best of me, I broke down an order a Titan from TW, unexpectedly I've never smoked since it's arrival 6/11/09.

I think I may have been peripherally aware of e-cigs before this, but the first time I remember actually knowing anything about them was about a year ago, when a friend of mine had one.

I was living in New Zealand at the time, and they'd recently been partially banned. But he knew some people and made it work. I didn't, so I dismissed the idea.

And then a week or two ago, my father's friend from work let him try out one of hers for a few days. He remains skeptical, but I got pretty excited about it. Perhaps its the exhuberance of youth - I still honestly hope to quit someday, but my father, closing in on 60, has lost that hope.

So after that second encounter, and now back in the US where e-cigs are easier to get, I've decided to try it. Ordering stuff tomorrow!

When the PACT was passed and made USPS cigarette delivery a FELONY I panicked because if I get busted for a felony and go to jail, they won't let me smoke in jail! What to do? So somehow I stumbled onto e-cigs on the internet (don't know how that happened). Got a vaporking from vapor4life and it worked! Found ECF and realized they were gonna ban e-cigs, so panicked all over again and basically LIVED on ECF for the next 2 months so I could learn enough to buy a sensible pre-ban stash. It was a lot of work! When I realized I needed snus, too, I had to learn even MORE stuff so I could get a sensible stash of that. Had to get an e-cig with a longer battery life for a 4-day camping trip so I had to learn even MORE stuff! Scheesch! Got a silver bullet and a saber touch for the trip and I think I can finally relax a little. Along the way, without trying, I accidentally stopped smoking. Amazing!

ad popped up when I was searching for something and I started reading about them. Decided to give them a try before I found ecf but lucky me, I got a half way decent one by accident. Then to the forum and read, read and more reading and upgrades to better equipment and liquids.

about a year or so ago, this sound editor that i knew whipped one out in front of me in a smoke free building and started puffing away. no ash, no smell, not even a lighter...i thought it was some prop from a magic store until he explained to me what it was and what it did. i was intrigued. he told me it cost him close to 100 dollars and i decided to pass on buying one. it wasn't until months later when saw a banner on some website that i was reminded of how cool these things were.

Sometimes, when I can't sleep, I'll listen to the radio. I heard an ad with an 800#. Lights were out (and I didn't have a pen anyway)....did a search the next day, called the first supplier who listed a phone number on their website, told him what I smoked and how much and he recommended the 901 to me. Thanks Rob at Vapor Kings!

A few years ago, someone posted a link on a forum I was a member of. It was a smoking everywhere youtube clip. I was amazed. After seeing the price of the device, I was like yeah right... good luck with that. Last summer A friend of a friend had one. She let me try it. I really liked it. I forgot what kind it was. This past march I started thinking about it again after a few failed attempts at quitting smoking. I started searching online and thanks to blu marketing.. I wound up buying one. I joined the blu forum to try and learn how to make my blu better. Very few of the people there were of any help. Most would say get rid of it.. and buy this rebranded ecig thats not much better for more money. (my words, not theirs) I decided to search ecf. I did a lot of reading and decided the 510 was for me. I already had a 510 PT, cartos and atty, because it has the same threads as the blu. So i figured at least everything would be compatible. Well since the change, and recently getting an ego and lr attys. I have not touched my blu, 510 or PT. LOve this ego with lr atty.

My husband had mentioned them to me a while back, but I blew him off. Later, I was in the midst of my latest quit smoking kick when he whipped out an e-cig from a mall kiosk that he had gotten to give to me on Mother's Day. He gave it to me early since this was before the scheduled gift time. (I suspect it was because I was being very, very grumpy!) I started with that little RN4081. When I couldn't get it to work right I got online to research and landed here. I did quit smoking with that little RN4081, so even though overpriced, it was a great buy. I'd never buy another, but it led me a way to quit that works for me, so it was priceless.

I really need to thank my husband again. He was persistent even when I blew him off.

one of my website members had one and quit with it. he made a topic on my wesite about, i asked him about it, he let me borrow it, it sucked but i saw the potential. i went online and found ECF here and was interested but not that interested.

i forgot about it for a while

then i was bored as my wife and her mom got new phones and the kiosk was right next to me so i chatted with the guy a bit and he gave me a "good deal" and my MIL agreed to pay half so i got suckered into it....forgot all about what i read here previously and my impulse got the best of me.

happy now though, still use the RN4081 and like it a lot.

I saw a news blurb somewhere on the net about this new technology of E Smoking. SE was one of the main companies back then and I almost bought a kit but held off because people were saying the stuff SE sold is junk. I think that was back in 2008.

Like many I had heard commercials on the radio, saw different sites on the web and kept telling myself "whatever". Tried the patches and two days later landed in the hospital! OOOPPPPSSSS!!!! Then one day at work a co-worker had one and had me try hers "WOW!!!!!" . . went home that night and told my husband I was getting one. My first one was the 155 penn style from besteciggy.com , that was almost 6 months ago. Since then I can't say enough about these wonderful things. I have even turned many friends and family on to the e-cigs and we are all doing great. I have just way too much fun with the flavors.

I never knew they existed until about 3-4 months ago when I saw an advertisment on a website. I cant remember what brand it was for but I remember it being way to expensve. But, the concept got deeply imbedded in the brain and manic research began.

Im curious to see how others first learned ecigs existed. They have been around a lot longer than Ive known about them. So, how did it happen for you?

Same EXACT thing with me except it was a TV commercial for some ecig. Manic research ensued immediately after. Geez that was just like, ten days ago lol. Funny how much you can learn in that much time.

And its weird because I loathe commercials and have a DVR just for skipping them, so seeing any commercial in my house is just.. well I'm glad I saw that one :)

Saw an ad for the Blu on a MMA forum I post on. Googled it and one of the first things that came up were threads on here about how much the Blu sucked. lol

Researched a bit and the same day ordered a SideSho. Then ordered a 510. Then ordered an Ego. Then ordered 4354465463435 different things to go along with it all. (Juice, carts, etc.)

I had never heard of an ecig until I stumbled across one of the "Free Trial" sites. After reading their deal, I saw that I would have to eventually buy their kit for about $100. Not knowing any better, that price did not sound all that bad. However, I did not like the idea of being automatically billed for refilled cartomizers, so I backed out of the site and forgot about them.

That is, I forgot about them until the phone rang the next day. I was told that I did not have to subscribe to the refills, so I'm thinking like maybe ok. Then I was offered the kit for half price. Not only that, but they would throw in 10 extra cartomizers. That sounded good enough to me, so I went for it.

As it turned out, they worked out well enough on the first day to get me off cigarettes. I learned on my own that I could refill the carts, and still have some of the originals that have never been used (the taste is terrible). I later found out that the cartomizers look just like the Joye 510 types I have today, and that the automatic battery was 180 mAh. I guess I just got lucky, because I did not find out about this forum until a few months later.

I was getting ready to place my last pre-PACT Act order at my Indian Cigarette site, and saw an ad for "American Spirit" E-Cigs. Which reminded me of some guy I had seen a while ago sucking on a pen like device and emitting a little 'steam' in an airport lounge.

One thing led to another, and after a bunch of Googling,, I ended up here on ECF. After 2 days of research here, I ought a 510 kit and a 901 kit from Vapor Kings. The rest, as they say. is history. Still using the 901 atty on my REO and have passed on my original 510 Battery's to a co-worker to get him started.

    Thanks ECF!:toast:

I was getting ready to place my last pre-PACT Act order at my Indian Cigarette site

I made a pact act stock up order of 15 cartons a couple of weeks before I discovered vaping. Now I have 13 cartons of cigs I'll never use. Wish I had found vaping a few weeks earlier, I would have saved about $500 bucks.
