I think 08 or 09... I bought some terrible Blu like cig on some shady internet site. Actually wasn't that bad. A group of my smoker friends followed suit. After I ran out of carts I went right back to cigs. One of my friends stayed with it eventually introducing me to cartomizers and the eGo batteries in 2011. Been on and off since then however, with a kid on the way I'm really serious about it this time. I'm also spending way to much money!

About a month ago I was about to end my 2 years of being smoke free. I was standing at the counter of my local Wawa ready to ask for a pack of Marlboro lights and I saw the Blu disposable. I bought one and it wasn't that bad. I got on the Internet and started researching which led me here. I bought a pair of ego twists a vivi nova and a ton of juices. vaping has kept me from going back to smoking and I am loving it. I don't have a favorite flavor yet, but prefer minty and coffee juices.

I started with some crappy ecig that looked like a ciggy. I can't remember the brand I just know it didn't work very well. After giving up for a year or so I bought a go-go with a clear tank and love it.

Hmm favorite flavor. I love malty from Backwoods Brew. Really hard to describe but it's great. Blueberry is also very good.

My first vape was using a Greensmoke with their Absolute pre-filled cartomizer. I thought I had been blessed with a change of cigarette brands that was heaven sent. My 2+ pack a day cigarette habit was over at that instant with no nicotine withdrawal or cigarette cravings.

I got tired of battery charging so I ordered Twists and Vivi Novas in about a week. Other than a slight bit of coolness I found a dead ringer for Greensmoke's Absolute in Upstomp's White Spur at LJ's E-Smokes. After trying 112 juices from sellers highly rated on ECF, including many tobacco flavors, it remains the only tobacco flavor I actually like.

Way things are panning out, if they do regulate it, we might be stuck with Blu like ecigs. lol

Not me, I have enough mechanical mods to last my lifetime and a couple more.
I have enough nic base in the freezer to make 6000 ml of 18mg juice :)
Worst come to worse I can extract my own nic .....

They wont ban - Batteries - Kanthal Wire - Silica Wick - Stainless Mesh Wick - PG - VG - Flavoring ......

So I'm good to go.

But to answer the OP ..... I started with a blu 2 years and several months ago.
Realize vaping was great but the kit sucked. Sent it back and tried a couple others.

Bought an eGo back when they were first introduced and that was the turning point of vaping being viable IMHO.
My favorite flavor is my DIY RY4 ... I can make it for about 6 cents per ml :)

I still buy a few flavors when i catch a sale though.

Alien Vision: Boba's Bounty and Hype are great.

Now I vape exclusivly on REO Mods with Mark Bugs Chalice re-buildable atomizers or iHybrid Genesis Mods.

I know this is the new members forum ..... but every new member could be where I'm at pretty quick these days with all the great info here and on youtube. Nothing beats being self sufficient and saving boat loads of money.

Great mods and re-buildable stuff is pretty expensive up front but if you know your going to vape for the next 30 years it can all be had for less than a quarter per day :D

I play roller derby and decided going into this season that smoking was going to stop, no matter what. Ordered a starter kit on 1/8, received it on 1/11. Immediately went from a pack a day to 3-4 analogs a day over the weekend, and had my (unbeknownst to be at the time) last analog 7p Tuesday 1/15. The transition was seamless and mind-bogglingly easy.

The very next day I found out that my father has a genetic mutation that makes smoking a lot like playing Russian roulette, and it is inheritable. Let's just say I'm more motivated than ever to stay off the analogs...

When I first started, I wanted something that looked and felt (physically) more like a cigarette. I started with V4L titan kit (close enough to a cig), but a couple of weeks later I switched to ego-c twist and now evic. The funny thing is, I said I wouldn't want to carry a big battery everywhere with me..etc.
Did you guys also feel the same way and sometimes think "I wish I would've started with a bigger battery instead"?

Absolutely not the case for me. I could not possibly overstate how much I depended on the psychological comfort of using the cig-alike form factor when I first started to vape, something that seems to me is given extremely short shrift on ECF. Clutching my cig-alike like a security blankie was extremely reassuring to me even for some time after I got my Twists.

Since the introduction of Joye eRoll/Ovale eMini a beginning vapor no longer has to suffer through battery charging hades and an inferior vape to get the cig-alike form factor. I initially bought mine to replace my 808 cig-alikes for on the go but find myself using them quite often at home instead of my Twists and VAMOs. They have become my go-to vape device when I just want to sit down for a few minutes and do nothing but relax and enjoy a vape.

Yup. Its crazy, when I first these vaporizers, I was like, I would never carry it around, til I got a hit of it. I was wondering how the evic is compared to the twist?

I picked up a joyetech 510 back in late 2009 to early 2010. The only factors were if you wanted more of vapor production or flavor & battery life through the 801 models. I went with Vapor not caring about anything else, as long as I got good vapor, it would've made me a believer. I received the 510 and didn't touch another cigarette for 3 months until I got tired of the maintenance and ran out of juice.

A few months pass, and the eGos and early carto tanks came out, it was awesome again, ordered bunch of cartos, a hole puncher to save on money and a few eGo batteries. Soon after that, I ordered a Provari and got 3.0 SR cartos to push it further with the Provari. Then I discovered REOs to go back to the 510 dripping experience without ANY of the hassle. Then I discovered RBAs, now I have a chalice and I'm vapin happy.

My favorite juice out of my whole vaping experience is Pineapple Cream w/breeze at 12mg from Ahlusion. Vaping this juice through my first properly set-up Chalice was just........ vaping heaven........ can't go back to regular cigarettes, no way no how.

I started vaping when I noticed a co-worker doing it. Did what little research I could do at the time, two years ago. Bought my first 510 Automatic Kit from Smokebot, stunk as this group only sold prefilled cartos, and they were bad batteries, went with what my buddy was using a Vapor4Life 808 Vapor King, started to do some more research into ECF, found Kalamazoo Vapor Shop and Mister E Liquid, both are now amazing storefronts. Haven't turned back since, currently my top flavors - everyday vapes are Caramel Tobacco, Brass Monkey Tobacco, Candy Cane, Grasshopper, Candy Corn from Kalamazoo Vapor Shop.

Nice!. I did like that the eroll lasted longer* (as long as you keep it in the case charging). To me it was more wanting to carry one item that lasts longer rather than multiple items, although I do reach for my eroll every once in a while. However, it's all a matter of preference - I have a friend that carries a pouch with about a dozen batteries and who knows how many cartomizers - I couldn't do that :)

I was previously using a twist 650 and haven't seen it since I got the evic.
Here's what I like about the evic:
The stats in the display - Can tell how many puffs I have taken/left, battery status, +more
Also, something else I like about it is being able to use it while it's charging.
Other than that, to me..they don't seem that much different. (Maybe with some clearomizers, the drag and sometimes the taste seems a little better with the evic.)
