First, I loved smoking. The nicotine, the ritual, the whole ball of wax. I didn’t like what 27 years of it were doing to me but I still loved it. My wife has never smoked and hated everything about it. After my last failed attempt to quit, she said she would give me $1000 cash if I would quit. That was pretty motivating... for about 2 weeks

I began smoking again and she told me one day, “you do know you owe me $1000, don’t you.”

Soon after that I was listening to Rush Limbaugh (yes, and that’s a story for another place and time ;) ).

He was talking about his formerly nicotine stained fingers and that he was using an electronic cigarette. He said his favorite was from a company called Volcano so I went home and looked it up. That night a Magma kit was on its way to me. When it arrived I charged a battery and hesitantly took it outside, where I always smoked, and tried it out. My first thought was that this could work. Less than 2 weeks later I woke up and went to go outside to smoke, the morning cig was the last hanger on, and thought “why am I doing this, it’s pretty disgusting “.

That was September of 2010 and I haven’t had a smoke since. I found ECF a little over a year later and haven’t looked back since.

Yep- KM has great tips, and these are my faves. Real metal, but plastic on the end. So I don't knock my teeth out if the golf cart driver (sometimes me) hits a bump. I have one like it only a little shorter...must've come from my K5 mini, which was a real fail of a tank for me.

YT got me started. I enjoyed watching PB and Field of Vapor videos back in the day while I still smoked. One day I wrote a short email to PB not thinking I'd get a reply back and I asked him simply what he thought was the most durable, dependable, accurate mod no matter the cost. He replied back later that evening and I ordered a Provari right before bed. If he hadn't replied I was probably going to buy the Lava tube because it was cheaper. Fast forward to today, I completely changed from wanting the smartest, full of bells and whistles regulated mods with cool screens when I first started to simple just push a button mech tubes. I realized (in my journey) that I didn't need all that tech on my devices. I just need vapor as quickly in my lungs as possible. All I vape on is mech devices mostly but I do occasionally use regulated. Just depends on what I'm doing or if im driving.

Had wasted about 100 bucks getting properly setup with a cigalike back around 2013. Extra batt, extra carts and all, meant to give it a serious go. Total waste of course!
Our first ego/clearo kits that had 2 stick batts, 2 CE4 clearos, a couple extra heads with a bonus 30ml of dekang type juice were 150US each and a half hour highway drive down into the US. My bonus was the clearos weren't disposable and the ego sticks were SMOK so I got into figuring them out very soon....right after the horrific metallic vape off a new head (that I still remember as vividly as the day I vaped burnt rayon....YUK). Still have one stick and a clearo just cause they were the cornerstone that changed our lives.
Researching led me into ECF and a world of knowledge followed with it so my next purchases were protanks and provari's with a K100 mech from FT too. Rebuilding was to me just a natural way to go cause I like to take stuff apart, the DIY was more umming and hawwwing for a year then juice was starting to get harder to pass over borders so took the plunge and never looked back. Hangsen tobac concentrates made sticking to DIY very easy and still years later IMO next to NETs the Hangsen is the best tobac DIY out there.
edit...My only epic fail was DCT's and cartos...nothing but frustration.
