How do you know when to stop/when do you stop in one session?

As vaping doesn't hurt the throat/lungs like cigs can, i find it difficult at times to know when to stop.

With cigarettes , one cig took about 20 puffs before it was done (and after about 15, i want to get ready to stop). Should i count/take the same draws from my ecig before laying it down?

Should i just vape until i just stop??

I'am using 6mg of nicotine eliquid (sometimes 12mg) and maybe its not strong enough for me as the other possible issue

For people who vape with 18mg, 24mg of nicotine eliquids, do you find that after 10 puffs you had enough??

For me, except in the beginning when I was still getting used to my APV and vaping (and still jonesing over cigarettes) I'll usually take a few puffs and set it down for "a while".

That "while" varies from a few minutes to an hour or more.

I started vaping at 24mg, and have slowly been tapering down over the last year and am now starting on a 12mg level.

You say that you find it difficult to know when to stop - have you considered possibly upping your nicotine temporarily to see if that helps?

I take 2 or 3 hits, and set it down. Go about whatever it is I'm doing; after while, I take two or three more hits, set it down. Why set limits? When I still smoked indoors, I wasted half of my cigarettes burning in the ashtray. With vaping, it's always there and ready when I want it.

You can vape however you like. Most of the time I prefer to use a higher nic so that I can take 10 puffs and feel I've had enough. Sometimes though I lower the nic and chain vape. Experiment a little and go with whatever you're comfortable with.

What nig level do you use?

Thanks for some of your feedbacks. My issue right now is i can't drop it down after a few puffs then comeback etc. Sometimes i don't have time to do this

At work when i go out for a break i will stop my session once my co worker finishes her smoke. So this makes it easy for me.

At home not so much.

I totally struggled with this too!

I finally figured out that at least for right now, I need to treat my vape like I would a cigarette. I vape for 12 minutes (give or take) rather than the 4 spent smoking a cigarette because the way the nicotine enters my body now, set it down and walk away (so, if I would have smoked two cigarettes, I vape for about 24 minutes and so on). I'm still keeping consistent to the "places" I smoked and that helps me immensely to curb any cravings -- the days I vaped all the time I kept battling back the feeling that I need a "smoke break" (so weird, I know).

Good luck!!

I'll admit that even after all of this time I'm still a chain vaper. Don't think about it too much and just vape until you feel satisfied. Your body will let you know when you've had too much nic. Also remember that your body absorbs nicotine differently when you're vaping versus smoking. If you're in situations where you need to get your nic 'fix' quicker then I'd keep a tank handy with higher nic in it. Otherwise, as long as you're not getting any headaches or nausea they you should be fine. Just remember to drink plenty of water:)

When I started vaping, I started at 18mgs, that was the most common ref to a pack a day. While I sometimes smoked more than a pack a day, I went with that simply because I didn't want to increase my nic intake, just replace the cigs with vaping. Before I started to vape, I did count how many hits I took on the cigs, my average was between 16-18, so 320-360 hits per day off the cigs and sometimes more when I went past pack a day.

I kept track of my hits of vape a day, the first week my total was about 210 per day, the second week I was right around 160-170 and stayed at that amount until I decided to drop to 12mgs. Then, I went up a bit in hits per day for a week or so. Once my body got used to the 12mgs I went back down to my normal of 160-170. Now I am using 6mgs, and when I went down to the 6mgs I stayed at about my normal of 160-170.

I chose to keep track of my usage simply because I was curious about what it would be. Like the others who have commented on your post, I found my usual was 3 hits, then set it down, but sometimes it was 5 hits then set it down. I tend to chain vape when driving, if I am doing a long drive my numbers get much higher.

Everyone's usage varies, you will find your sweet spot, just go with your flow and desire. Your health in the overall is much better vaping, it really makes little difference in the overall since you have ridded yourself of all the large quantities of harmful chemicals. Once I started vaping I did not smoke another cig, I decided to make it what it was, my substitute for cigs and the means to slowly decrease the nic until I was totally off it. Lately I have been vaping 0 nic just because I like the juice itself.

I just go by feel and that means it varies a lot. If I'm in front of the computer, my PV is used like scuba gear (hence my sigline). If I'm driving, I use it more or less steadily based on what the traffic ahead looks like or, if it's a long drive, I might feel the need to set it aside every now and then. If I'm busy, like at work or doing chores, then I go for it when I feel the need and stop after 2 to 4 minutes, when I feel I can let go for a while. I find that I can let go of it more as months from the last cig pass by when I don't have a free hand. I also find that my juice consumption is fairly steady as I smoked a lot of cigarettes in a row after work, but more steadily during weekends and do the same with vaping.

One trick I use is that I vape higher nic cigarette taste juice after meals or when I drink, else my regular low nic juice still leaves me not quite satisfied. Over time, I am also finding that a good rebuildable is perfect for all-day vape, while a Nautilus does the job for cigarette high nic juices. I can get by just fine for the occasional menthol or Tiramisu juices in a standard Aspire tank, but that does demand higher nic content than what I use in the more advanced tanks. It definitely is a matter of tinkering around in my case and I love it.
