@Myk - I've tried all vg, all pg and 50/50. Have tried several vendors - janty, ovale, gh1, dekang, dulice etc - It all gives me the same buzz and the stronger the nic, the heavier the buzz. It's an awesome buzz too, really refreshing and stimulating ha ha! Not so good for evening time though, so I vape at 6mg now, which still gives me a great nic buzz (similar to a GOOD dbl espresso buzz but better, honestly) but doesn't give me insomnia. I have a very sensitive nervous system. As to your question - my favorite is 100% PG, no sweet undertaste, and way easier on atty life. I can vape 100ph on an ego c atty all day and not get one bad hit.

This I like, good old fashioned common sense. You know what? Tonight I'm going out to the local pool comp with my best friend and am going to just drink cokes and really get vape happy with my favorite RY5 and focus on that buzz instead of drinking.

Anyway I had two stinkies last night and now it's morning here in smoggy Shanghai and I'm vaping Super Strong Mint 100%pg with my coffee and it's awesome because the mint or menthol are my ADV and it's really making my lungs, mouth and head feel all fresh, minty and cleaned out lol. And as I mentioned it gives me a really stimulating feeling, so I'm all good about last night.

Yeah tonight I'll experiment and see what it's like alternating the beer for the vape train instead, swap one pleasure for another, I think I'll be fine with that and it's better (and cheaper) for me anyway.

Then when I do have my next couple of pints, I'll probably just have one or two analogues if I really fancy them and then get over it. Like others mentioned - it's the bigger numbers of non smoked ones that really matter. I don't see myself getting overly technical and doing the WTA thing etc, it's too much like trying to get back to smoking as close as you can without smoking, kind of a fool's errand perhaps as I don't think of vaping as smoking at all, it doesn't taste, or feel like it at all when sober, it's much cleaner, fresher and enjoyable.

IN ALL HONESTY if the pack wasn't in my apartment last night, I'd not have bothered anyway, so they go out with the trash this morning. If they're not there next time i get home after a cpl of pints and I get a craving, I'll just think 'I don't have any and don't do that any more, so get over it' and then have a shower and go to bed anyway.

My friend is going to find it weird seeing me drink only cola or non alc cocktails tonight, but he'll just have to get over it lol as i want to see what it's like.

I up the voltage on my Provari to account for deadened taste buds and it works surprisingly well.

Was still a bit of a struggle the first time I went out for drinks but now it doesnt even bother me.....especially when I can vape inside the bar instead of having to go out like the smokers.

The trick, for me at least, is to look at the positives associated with vaping instead of thinking man Id like to have a cigarette right now.

For some people the last and hardest bridge to cross when transitioning to vaping are those few instances where the analog is engraved in the behavior as something that goes along with a certain behavior whether its that first cup of coffee in the morning or an analog with a drink and so on. Will power is not always the answer but retraining can be. Analogs and all the chemicals that go with them - can take on almost a life of their own and to what they can to draw you back and learned behavior is one big addiction that BT counts on to get you back as a customer. Sometimes it helps to remember that and to think ahead on what you want to vape with certain things so your mind is centered on a vape with that activity. You will find that you can retrain yourself to substitute 'vape' for analog by just trying to follow through on your plans for it.

I used to think "How an I going to get through my morning coffee on an ecig? What about after a meal?". That kept me smoking half a dozen a day (out of a 2PAD habit) for two more years after I started vaping. Then one day I decided to quit the last few crutches. Nothing happened. I found out that I could enjoy vaping with coffee and after meals. I'm still vaping 24mg juice, though.

It may just be mental with alcohol, too. If it makes you go back to tobacco it may be something you have to deal with. If you find that you can have a couple and not re-enter the habit, go for it.

Well I went to the pool comp and while my mate got rat-arsed, I just had a pint, you can smoke in bars here in Shanghai and I had to sit away from all the smokers, it stank and I really did not want their smoke all over my clothes. I looked at my friend smoking and thought 'Man you couldn't pay me to smoke one of those right now, I'm enjoying vaping so much more.'

So yeah, was in a bar, playing pool, had a pint and vaped 6mg vanilla all night with zero problems.

A step in the right direction, behavior modification ha ha

I guess I was lucky... two days after starting vaping, I stayed longer than usual at the bar, because I casually found someone I had not seen for some years... and of course, beer came rolling most of the time. Well, I still had an open pack with me, but never did I feel a craving for a cigarette! The next day, I just gave away my 'cigarette stuff' to a smoker friend (That pack, plus an unopened one, and three lighers). He did not want to take them at first, because he was afraid it was too soon, and that I might regret giving those things later. Just told him "Yesterday, I spent some three hours at the bar, almost got drunk, and did not smoke any of those. Do you believe I would need them after that??" :2cool:

I agree. I keep tobacco flavored Volts with me if I know I'm going out drinking. And that's along with a Twist or a simple eGo battery (no mods outside the house or work, I've decided). But in a pinch, when my body is screaming at me to at least hold and fiddle with a real cig, those Volts are, once again, chickenhawks and true lifesavers.

At this point in the game, no matter how sloshed I might be, I'd never, ever, ever again smoke a real cig. At this point, the benefits of vaping WAAAAAAAY outstrip the "benefits" of smoking the real deal.

Too be brutally honest, until you quit drinking, you wont be able too stop smoking tobacco, take it from me,that is my experience with alcohol and smoking.

While I understand your experience, it is possible to enjoy libations and stick strictly to vaping. I, for one, can raise my hand and say that truthfully.

I may get flamed on...but here it goes...

I started vaping to quit cigarettes so I can live a fuller life. I had that mind set when I started and still do. From that first day I haven't picked up a cigarette. I've come across all obstacles ,on a regular, that I can think of when I did smoke cigarettes when I'm now a vaper; drinking, hanging out with friends, stressed out times, driving in traffic, going to my all time favorite relaxation - las vegas. All of those times I've not once thought of or crave for a cigarette because I had that main goal/reason in mind.

I'm saying, mind over matter...

I still enjoy my nightly glass/snifter of cognac. These days, without the cigarette...

Here is my take, since I have had similar urges.

First off, don't beat yourself up for giving in with analogues if you smoke one while drinking. I had an all or nothing attitude with smoking, so when I quit in the past and then slipped I would be out buying a pack and smoking them like I was trying to catch up on all the cigarettes I missed during quitting.

Secondly, I don't agree with the need to quit drinking just to quit analogues. The moment you do, then you will always associated the two together. Unless you never plan to drink again, which I don't have any intention of doing that. So vaping to me will help break the connection. It's like coffee, it was my other big trigger for smoking. I did cut back on coffee intake because of vaping, but after 3 weeks I don't associated smoking and cigs together anymore.

As for flavor, I agree that the sweet flavors don't do it for me. I don't necessarily like the tobacco flavors either, but a nice RY4 or there is an RY3 that this store in Phoenix makes that actually doesn't have any taste at all except the satisfying feeling. I was a chain smoker when drinking, and realized I didn't even take time to enjoy the cigs when I was. It was just a nervous habit, or the feeling I got from inhaling a cigarette. So get something that has a stronger throat hit, including the right tank that can make the drag a bit more harsh.

As for nicotine content, I prefer the 6MG or 12MG juice but have a few bottles of 18MG available (especially in the RY flavor) for when I have those stronger urges to smoke..This includes drinking or when I'm a little more stressed out at work. I don't necessarily think you need to go all the way to 24MG, since you prefer 0% nic, so just increase it to 12 or 18. That will give you a better throat hit.

Just what worked for me so far from smoking when drinking, but experimenting to figure it out is what vaping is all about. So don't worry about giving in, and just because you quit smoking doesn't mean you have to give up other things you enjoy in life like an occasional drink.

Cheers
