So, i just so happened to stumble into a local Vape Shop one saturday afternoon, while the wife and kids were outside eating Pizza at a food festival Downtown. I hadn't even heard about vaping. I was thinking about getting an e-cig at the local quickie mart but hadn't gotten around to it yet. i walked out with an Ego 1100amp starter kit, 2 clearomizers and a bottle of juice. I threw my analog cig's in the trash before I walked out the door. So after 28 years on tobacco, I haven't touched one since; that was just over a month ago. The hardest cravings so far, were during a night filled with Beer and lots of food. I have actually lost 5 lbs as well. Drinking lots of water, joined a gym, feeling great. The weezing I was starting to experience at night, has dissappeared.

i quit my job month ago and got into vaping. i drove alot for my old job and up to 2packs a day depending on the hours i worked. did both for about a week till i found a juice that i really liked. in about 4 days was off analogs. still get cravings for an analog but just fight it off. i also think spending time on here has helped. i smoked for about 7 years and and seeing people that smoked for longer and quit successfully helps

In the 30+ years I smoked, I'd "quit" dozens of times before -- gum, patches, inhalers, pills, I did 'em all. Every time, I got the screaming nic fits, lost sleep, couldn't concentrate on work, and was generally a major PITA to be around. I never found out just how bad it could get, because I always gave in and bought some smokes.

I honestly knew within a half-hour of trying a 510 that this was going to work. It took about 3 days (and about that many supplementary smokes) to realize that I'd need at least a half-dozen 510s to keep one always charged, as fast as I was burning through them. Ordered an eGo kit and picked up an Njoy to help while I waited. Once the eGo arrived, I never had another cigarette. And it was absolutely painless for me. Every craving was easily satisfied with a heavy-duty vape session. I was able to work productively, started feeling healthier almost immediately, and best of all, I was having FUN trying every flavor that caught my attention.

Five months now. Just saw my doctor this morning for the first time since I switched. My diabetes is back under control, my cholesterol is now so low that those meds have been discontinued, and I've lost 15 pounds without any conscious effort. Blood pressure was a tiny bit high, which is unusual, but I suspect it may be a result of my excitement/anxiety about telling him how I became a non-smoker!

Doc seemed surprised that I have no intention of now quitting vaping, but didn't disapprove, since I've already cut my nic from 24 to 12 and am beginning now to move to 6. In fact, he asked for a quick lesson on what I'm using and where/how to get it. Left him with a handful of business cards for the local B&M, and he told me he intends to spread the word with his other smoking patients. Yay! Another physician in our corner!

If this question has been asked before, or this post is in the wrong section, I apologise in advance. :)
It's been asked a whole bunch of times, but so has everything else.
No harm no foul is what I always say.
:)

Here are a few polls though, from the polls subforum...

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/polls/276317-how-easy-switching-tobacco-alternative.html

I think there might even be a better one, but I'm not sure how to find it.

My first time trying to switch was with a cig style from the local liquor store. I think they were called Green smoke or something of that nature. That only lasted about a couple days before I went back to analogs. Two years later I went straight for an Ego setup with a Vision 2 clearomizer and switched cold turkey. The first week was a bit hard but after that I completely forgot about cigarettes. Three months later I moved onto an Evic with a rebuildable and a carto tank on the side. Never looking back

first time trying a pv, abused a friends so bad my nose bleed( he had it outside in the heat at 120+ for six months) i loved it so much jumped on the band wagon

first time trying it in public(bar) it burned my leg by fireing with a bad push.Thats all it took to make me laugh and know its for me

Had a vv bottom feeder ( stacked battery) light on the first push of the on button and cause such a fire it required a grab the batteries while on fire pull and still love the mod moment. guy fixed it , it was a weird problem.

Its a joy that is not known to many, but vaping has got my bang back,

Some people have a easier time, i did, but my sister is haveing a hard time, first her battery broke then she put it in the washer. she has a ego twist now and something is clogging the tank, i cleaned it and it still feels weird so idk.
my step mom who has been smokeing for like ever is having a easy time, a rough start 3 of here batteries were defected she got one that worked, now the only time she smokes is when the battery dies or she is outta juice, funny thing is she only smoke tabbacco flavor. i tryed it and almost gagged

I'm only 4 days without a smoke so far, and the first couple of days were easier than the last couple have been, but I'm managing to fight the urges off. Has anyone else experienced delayed withdraws?

So my next question would be, if it's the nicotine that's addictive, and we're getting it by vaping (I've the highest amount they'd sell me, 30something), what is the X-factor that normal smokes provide that vaping doesn't?

Its not been easy for me to quit completely. Was 1 1/2 - 2 PAD. I still smoke a few cigs a week (maybe 8 -10) usually in the early morning or when I get home from work. After almost a year, all I vape is tobacco flavors ..... ;-)~

Somewhere around 3996 other chemicals. Some natural to tobacco or burning tobacco and burning paper, some added by tobacco companies to enhance flavor, addiction, consistency and freshness. Some forced to be added by ANTZ in government to annoy and possibly harm those who refuse to quit.

I've heard speculation that may be trace amounts of antidepressants. I truly hope that's not the case, but I've certainly got a bit of the jitters.
