Everyone knows how I feel about my 4-legged children. They continue to teach me about God.
1) They show unconditional love. It doesn't matter if I'm having a good day or a bad day. They don't care if I have on makeup, or my hair is fixed.....it doesn't matter to them. They love me regardless of anything else. That is such a blessing. We don't have to do anything....they just love......just like God taught them to do.
2) They want to be with us all the time, as close as they can be. My Sharlamane follows me so she can be as close as possible. She just wants to be with me. Back then to #1.
3) Forgiveness.......what can I say? You can discipline and reprimand about this and that, but they always forgive you and come back with a repentent heart. Isn't this what God did and still does? Our actions have consequences.....good or bad, but He is always there to forgive
you. They teach us about forgiveness of each other as well.
4) They alert you when they sense danger is around. God does the same thing. It's that voice within that tells you something is amiss.
5) They are always glad to see you, even if you're gone for 2 minutes! God is so glad to see us include Him into every aspect of our lives! I can remember when I was first saved. I asked God what to wear to work every day. Silly, I know, but I wanted to include Him in every aspect.
6) Carson, our baby, can't stand for us to love on our other 2 Malties. He gets jealous. "Thou shall not have any other gods before Me." Not that I'm comparing exacts, but that verse always comes to mind. God is teaching me, still.
7) When my Malties get scared or hurt, they come to me. Don't we do the same? When we are scared or hurt, we grab onto the hem of Jesus' garment? I know I do. When my grandson was stillborn, everyone had a human to hold onto, except me. I think I squeezed Jesus' hand so hard that I think I broke it. I needed my Saviour badly. He was there with me....like always.
8) They choose an alpha to be leader of the pack. We have an Alpha and Omega!
9) They trust us and feel secure. That is the same with us. I feel completely secure and trust God. I don't have insecurity or trust issues with Him as He's taking care of my loved ones. He loved us first.

Did you know that people live longer when they have a 4-legged kid? It will help with those that are disabled when they go into a depression. They can love you in more ways. I have enjoyed every stage of Carson's puppyhood. He is so funny. He makes us laugh a great deal. We love our babies.....or can you tell!!!
