How hard is it switching from analogs to vaping?

I am a heavy smoker, i've tried vaping non nicotine liquid, well its fun and it feels great but as soon as i turn off the e-cig i want to smoke.
Will the liquid with nicotine give me the feeling "after smoking ( satisfied etc ) " ?
I've ordered a liquid with 18mg, but i can't wait im so excited, will i be able to stop smoking and just do the vaping or not? Will it be the same as smoking only without the bad effects of analogs ( like smell, cough etc ) ?

I started vaping 14 months ago and stopped smoking 6 weeks later. My brother started vaping a year ago and didn't stop smoking completely until last October. Some people stop smoking the day they start vaping. My impression of the situation is, if you don't stop vaping you will eventually stop smoking. People will have different advice than mine. I promised myself I would have a cig when ever I wanted one. Starting the first day my cigs went from 25 to 5 per day with no effort. So I accepted being a dual user until I was comfortable with vaping and knew I would not stop. Then going to zero cigs was not so hard. I knew the worst that could happen would be "relapsing" to 5 cigs a day.

There is a learning curve and adjustments. Ecigs made me slightly queasy for a couple of weeks. I figured that would go away and it did. I had various physical reactions and emotional reactions to reducing cigarettes. I just rode them out, smoked when I wanted to but vaped and vaped and vaped some more. I got tired of vape shop e liquid prices and started buying 240 ml bottles of liquid for $40 each. Today I mix my own. The cost for a year supply--less than $50. If you vape economically you'll notice a lot of extra money in your pocket. It's a nice feeling. Just keep vaping and the cigarette thing will wither away. Don't worry about set backs. Keep the pressure off and KEEP VAPING!

I was smoking 5 packs a day
I got a cigalike and had to have a cig after using it
So I got a Kanger Pro tank 2 and 2 Igo 1100 sticks along with some 24mg juice
Each day I smoked less and less cigs becauase I didnt need then
After two weeks I was totally ciggy free I haven't had one since
Since then and almost 2 years Ive gone from 24mg to 6mg juice

As far as it being exactly like smoking no its not vaping you absorb nic in a slower way than cigs

Can you quit ciggys while vaping absolutely
Is it better for you yes
You will be putting out better smell than ciggys
After the goop from ciggys leaves the lungs you will breath better
A warning after quitting smoking ciggys will stink lol
but you wont smell like ciggys anymore

DON"T try that 18mg @ high wattage with sub ohm attys, that kind of eliquid is for low wattage vapers.
You'll need 3 to 6mg eliquid even if you are a heavy smoker.

Good to hear your quitting those nasty things. ;)
At less than 36mg I personally wouldn’t have been able to set the thing down. 18mg is a nice safe place to start. You will have to decide what mg works best for you, and I would suggest having a few real good flavored e-juices around too.
Strong nic , a short learning curve and having some awesome tasting e-juice around is what worked for me.
We all have different tolerance levels so you just gotta figure out where you feel comfortable.

If you have any trouble at all, this community is here to help you to be a successful quitter! ;)

Like falling off a log. The thing is... don't tell yourself you're quitting. Tell yourself you're trying out a cool new experiment. Not with 0mg either, but real nicotine ejuice, in a flavor that's either close to your cigarettes, or something really yummy that you absolutely LOVE. Vape all you want, all the time, and keep a tally of all the actual cigarettes you smoke. Make a game, a competition with yourself, to see if you can smoke less each day. If you don't smoke less, but also don't smoke *more*, celebrate -- have some cake or pie or a drink or whatever. :D If you do actually smoke less than yesterday, then celebrate more -- more goodies or drinks. :D Make it fun, make it pleasurable and exciting. Above all, don't stress, don't beat yourself up for smoking -- enjoy them, because the more you vape, the less you'll like cigarettes. It took me a month, doing it just like that.

You can do it, if it's really what you want to do -- but if you stress about it, you'll just smoke more -- so have fun!!!

It's pretty damn easy if you don't think about it and just do it, considering I switch from smoking 30 to 40 cigarettes a day, to vaping, without so-much as a THOUGHT of withdrawal syndrome, and I've done that around 4-5 times in my lifetime now... So, i'd say it's pretty darn easy. Just do it, and, you'll see just how easy it is.

    All the above, Fasart.

The right nic level FOR YOU, and flavors you like.

When you feel "the urge", vape a while. Don't sweat it if you smoke, count the ones you don't.

For some, it's a quick and easy transition. For others it can be a longer process. It's all about harm reduction, and each one you don't smoke is, well, a reduction!

I planned and learned a fair bit prior to my switch. In switching, there is nothing but getting the same nic your body got before. To me, there is nothing else. Later yes, but not on day one. Fill it, put the battery in and take a draw. I took about 3 draws at a time and sat it down. Then, when I got the urge, I did 3 draws again. If I was picking it up every 20 minutes, step up the nic content. If I physically didn't feel that i needed it for 2 hours, I dropped down the nic. It taught me what my nic need was and that is really the bottom line.

On the top of my sig block it says it all...

How hard it is varies from person to person.

I smoked for 36 years, 2 packs a day for roughly the last half of it. I had pretty much given up on the idea of quitting. Then in late 2013 I kept coming across articles in the media that were lamenting the fact that the FDA hadn't regulated electronic cigarettes yet, so I got intrigued enough to order a starter kit. I had no intention of quitting smoking, but thought maybe I'd be able to reduce my habit some. Well, the first full day of vaping, I had 4 cigarettes instead of ~40. The second day, 2. The third and fourth, 1. That day, I drove through a snow storm to what was at the time the closest vape shop around, bought some better gear, and I haven't smoked since.

You'll hear some people tell you that they haven't had a smoke since taking their first drag on a vape, while there are a fair number of folks who still smoke a bit as well. Like I said, it varies from person to person.

Keep in mind, there's other stuff in cigarettes (and smoked tobacco in general) besides just nicotine that contributes to the addiction, and that nicotine from vaping isn't absorbed into your body as quickly as it is from smoking, so there will be times when you'll still be wanting for a smoke. I kept the last few packs from my last carton around for many months after switching, but knowing how much better I felt kept me from smoking them.

    Good luck!

It took me exactly 11 days from buying my first kit to quitting smoking altogether. My wife wasn't on board at first, she saw it as a waste of money, so I only vaped at work. First week I tried my hardest to vape instead of smoking. I went from smoking 15 cigarettes in an 8 hour shift to 1 or 2 during a shift. The first weekend, wife still didn't know at this point, I was craving to vape instead of smoking. Second week at work I smoke 1 or 2 cigarettes a shift until Thursday (3rd shifter's Friday) when I had ZERO cigarettes at work. I was so proud of myself I HAD to tell my wife. She asked how I did it, I told her, she tried it, then she wanted her own kit. I smoked my last cigarette the following morning, February 4, 2012 at 9:30 am. I haven't looked back. It took my wife just a little longer to quit fully, roughly two months, but that was spent finding a juice she liked.
