Just curious what methods people have used vaping to quit the analogs? I've had a good vaping setup for 10 months now. Started with an ego battery, now using a vision spinner, and just ordered the iTaste mvp 2. I was smoking 1 pack of ultra lights a day and have been cutting down on the analogs. I'm down to 1 or 2 packs a week now, but I'd like to completely quit. I started out with the 12mg nic in the juices but found out that some flavors are just to harsh for me so I'm using the 6mg nic.
Thanks,
Mike

I quit my 1/2 - 1 pack ultra light per day analog habit exactly 7 weeks ago today. I tried the patch for the 3rd time quitting for 2 days before going bonkers and picked up an ego starter kit from my local B&M. Got set up with 2 ProTank II's since I wasn't crazy about the CE5 clearos. A week later I got the MVP 2 since I was going through my batteries like a fiend. I typically use 6-12 mg (I agree, some flavors are harsh for me at 12) but I even have 1 that I can tolerate great at 18mg for those days that are a little more trying than others.

tl;dr: I quit immediately.

take your pack of cigs.
lay them on the floor.
take the heel of your foot and with a back and forth grinding movement
crush them into powder.
pick up the debree and through away.
do not buy any more.
even if you have to change routes going to and from work, your favorite haunts and other places
you go as to avoid the shop you bought them from.
do this now.
:D
there don't you feel much better regards,
mike

That first day without smokes is just something you have to tell yourself you are going to do. I was kinda freaked about it as I have smoked for 50 yrs. at 1 1/2 packs a day. After about a week of vaping and having a few smokes a day, I just decided to give it a shot one day. One day with no smokes. It was no big deal!! Vaping filled the void and I haven't had one since. You can do it too, you are the master of yourself!!!

Nicotine acts as a mood stabilizer for me; without it I am a raging ..... Tried quitting cold turkey back in January and was successful, except for my family, friends and coworkers insisting I start smoking again because of my moodiness.

GF introduced me to vaping in June as an alternative form of nicotine intake, started me off with an MT3S and 650mAh eGo, haven't looked back since.

I was a pack a day, Marlboro Light smoker. I started at 12 mg eliquid but still had an occasional cigarette. I upped the nic level to 18, and then I was able to vape my way through a craving. I would just remind myself to vape and not light a cigarette. Hard, because at that time, my husband was still waiting for his starter kit and he was still smoking. His cigarettes were always right there, on the counter until his vape came in and he stopped buying packs. Maybe stick with the 6 mg liquid for the most part, but keep a 12 or 18 mg filled tank near by for when a craving really hits you?

I started vaping on 11/1. I did it because my wife asked me to TRY to quit smoking. I was merely trying to give the appearance of a valid try. Well, I smoked 5 analogs during my first week vaping. Threw away my last 3. It as been 5 full weeks and 2 days since my last analog. I guess I am keeping up the appearance pretty well.

That's what happened to my husband pretty much. I bought him a kit and told him to try. He said sure, but I know he wasn't really all that serious. He even bought a pack the day it arrived. It wound up being the last pack, much to his surprise.

I just made the conscience decision one day after seeing all these "disposables" in stores. After a few of those(while smoking, albeit alot less) I bought a Blu-cig starter kit. I was fairly naive to the whole scene at first. The Blu to me was almost off putting as it didn't seem to give em that "smoking sensation" that I wanted.

About a month into smoking analogs and Blu's I did some research and found out about all the opportunities I was missing out on(along with money I was wasting) by not using a refillable one.

Found a V-pro 650 at a local smoke shop. I LOVED it. I bought some e-juice from a gas station and after I tried flavors I was loving it. Although I was spending more than I would online, I was still spending around 50% less money than if I was still smoking. To me, at first, it was the money saving that turned me on more than the health factors. Sounds silly but me being only 26, this is how I felt.

It's only been in the last few weeks that I discovered all these websites, forums and blogs that offer info and products that make the experience even BETTER. Now that I'm quite a bit more educated on this topic I have ABSOLUTELY NO(NONE ZIP ZILTCH NADA) craving to watch to switch back. I smell analogs and its disgusting. I feel WAY better. I was able to order a 40x10mg sampler of e-juice and a 250ml 3.6 strawberry flavored e-juice along with some empty bottles, droppers and a couple other miscellaneous items for all around 75 bucks.

Now I've done the math. So far all together I've spent around
V-pro 650 kit 40.00$ (Locally)
E-liquid I've boughten locally ~30.00$
V-pro broke(because I'm an idiot) so I replaced it with a cheapo "Clean Cig" from a store 20.00$
My first online order of e-liquid ~80.00$(rounded up for math) After shipping

So 170 bucks.... Seems steep at first, but where I'm at, Camel Menthols or similar brands are roughly 6.25 a pack. I was smoking roughly 1 pack a day, maybe less, but between my habit, my girlfriends and bumming to others thats about right.

So I spent what I would of spent in 1 month(math says just over 28 days) on analogs for enough stuff to last me for QUITE some time This my friend is an investment. Lets not even start talking about health risks later on, trips to the gas station, cloths I'd end up burning, curtains replaced and all the time spent walking outside to smoke a damn cigarette.

I'll have roughly 650ml of e-juice that, based on prior consumption(of lower quality liquids mind you) should last me 65 weeks.... Haha, this is a gross estimate, but the money I'm saving is outrageous.

Granted there will be other expenses, new tanks here and there, a battery or 2, some new gear just to be the cool kid on the block and have a REALLY nice device and whatnot. However you look at it, my expense for analogs was just over 2,100 U$D a year. There is NO way I will spend close to that now!

I guess for me, it was all about the money. I like things, nice things, but I try and live a champagne lifestyle on a kool-aid budget :) . All the other stuff that goes along with quitting is just perks.

TL;DR I save a buttload of money by switching from analog to digital.

Your situation will likely be different, but maybe this will give you some ideas.

I work out of a home office. The office also doubles as a family room with the TV. My office is about 40 feet from the kitchen.

When I started vaping, I decided I would only smoke cigarettes in the kitchen near the range vent, but I could vape anywhere I wanted.

Now when I was working or relaxing, I had a choice; grab my PV, or go out to the kitchen for a cigarette. No judgement or stress in the choice, it was just a matter of convenience.

It took about a month of slow progress and I quit going to the kitchen and stopped smoking.

BTW, for many months after that, I had a pack in the drawer but never touched it. That was when I knew I had made it.

Best of luck, but regardless of how you do it, do it your way. No stress. Stress causes smoking.

I was lucky, I guess ...

Had two molars extracted in May, in preparation for dental implants ...

It was impossible to smoke for the first three days. I tried once. It feelt like someone was driving a railroad spike into my jawbone. Severe pain is a great disincentive ...

Before the end of that week, I was vaping disposibles and figuring out my first eGo ...

By the way, how can you tell a vaper on an elevator ?

He's the one who pushes the button 5 times, and waits for it to flash 3 times !

yezzir, yea man you just got to tell yourself and convince yourself to do it. I mean I was easily smoking a pack, pack & 1/2 a day of newports. switched to American Spirits (dark green menthols) which quickly became my favorite analog because they burn soo long n taste great. however with any cigarettes comes the smell, the ash, lower immune system...list goes on & on. ITS JUST NOT GOOD TO SMOKE. so I did what skoony up there did, got to a point where I couldn't stand cigs anymore, grabbed the pack and crushed it into dust into the floor, disposed of it. and instantly switched to simple e-cigs (logics, Njoys). honestly, it's just the first day without analogs that was the hardest for me. Because especially if you're going to work or something, u feel like ur half naked or forgetting something. like ur missing a crutch for psychological support...without those smelly lil devils. So just tell urself just for today I wont smoke a cig. and keep ur e-cig close by and puff away at that to your hearts content. AND IT WILL WORK MAN. just believe and know you have to do it. TRUST ME.
Now, I'm at the point where I am so disgusted by a cigarette I have no cravings for one at all, and what much much rather stick with my e-cig.
Sorry for the long post/rant. figured it was applicable
Thanks brosef and GOODLUCK

Picked up a Blu starter kit. I thought it was horrible but it had promise. About two weeks after that I got a couple ego batteries. I have since upgraded to other devices. I quit when I picked up the blu and never looked back. Was pretty seamless for me. I smoked a pack and a half a day of camel menthol full flavor and smoked for 30 years. Almost 1 year now without a cigarette.
