Started with 36. Very easily went down to 24 when I made my first hardware switch. Switched hardware again and am now down to 18 without any doubt or feeling that "something is missing" whatsoever. I have actually started working in 12 mg in hopes of being able to switch to that full time.

Since my only focus is throat hit, it was the hardware (PV) that enabled me to maintain the "hits like a truck" feeling without the extra high levels of nicotine.

Those of you that have tried or currently Vape at 36mg...is it that much different then 24mg? I ask because I miss the buzz I would get from smoking. Vaping is working great as a replacement for smokes, but sometimes feel that my body does not absorb nicotine too well. That make sense? Thanks!

It is very widely believed that nicotine absorption is far, far lower than with traditional cigarettes. Absorption is also slower. These factors obviously would tend to mute that "buzz" you felt with analogs. The actual reasons this happens are beyond the scope of this message but can easily be found by using the search features.

I can tell you that 36 is considered the highest level to vape and it will almost certainly give you a buzz if you overdo it. It gave me a buzz and I smoked 3 packs a day (sometimes 4 on weekends) You know yourself best and can make your own decisions. Personally, I would be cautious with that.

From how your phrase the issue I'm a little concerned that you may end up with a nicotine O.D. vaping at 36 mg if you don't understand that this does not work the same way as smoking. There is no instant rush from vaping because the nicotine absorption is done primarily through the mucous linings in the mouth. It's a much slower process and similar to how nicotine is absorbed from nicotine gum if you ever used it - by the time you felt a craving it was too late. You can't make up for the quick and dirty method of absorption done by smoking via higher nic level liquids because 1.) Smoke is primarily absorbed by the lungs. and 2.) You are missing a lot of ingredients that come along with burning processed tobacco which contribute to that fast rush from smoking.

Still you may need a higher nicotine level if you are having serious cravings. But if you are expecting to get a cigarette rush from vaping that isn't going to happen, and chasing a really high nicotine level expecting it really isn't a sound thing to do. If you have recently quit and vaping is a new experience you simply may need to work at vaping more. It's not an auto-pilot thing like a lit cigarette - you have to pick up the pv and press a button every time you want a drag. In my first few weeks I had to work at actually vaping enough on a consistent basis, rather than just chasing cravings.

Personally, I started with 26 mg and didn't think it was enough. I bought some 30 mg liquid and only used it during bad craving problems - morning mostly - and dropped the 30 mg stuff after 90 days. But incorporating 30 mg liquids was done out of a need to deal with pretty bad withdrawal symptoms from smoking, not as an attempt to replace the instant buzz I used to get from a cigarette.

Just be careful and understand that this is not smoking - don't expect it to be the same experience.

It's not just the difference in how the nicotine is absorbed. When you smoke a cigarette you are inhaling carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide (i.e. depriving yourself of oxygen) and also inhaling 4000 chemicals including formaldehyde (embalming fluid), cyanide (gas chamber stuff), carpet glue, and at least one chemical with an anti-depressant effect.

All of the replies have been very helpful, especially this one. I had read that the primary absorption was in the mouth from Vaping. Okay, I'm starting to get it. Interestingly, I have only had a day in my week of vaping that I "craved" nicotine - guess my here and there puffing has been working. That one day I was moving, so wasn't able to vape much.

You know, the nicotine buzz I got from that first early morning analog wasn't that important, anyway. :glare:

That was the hardest one for me to give up. I starting dripping so I can do a drop or two of stronger nic first thing in the morning and that cured the craving. I don't need it that strong the rest of the day.

I bought spare batteries (you should have a spare battery for every ecig you depend on anyway). Late evening I set up the overnight batteries with my cartos. I vape those until bedtime (at some point making sure the cartomizers are topped off) and when I get up in the morning I vape the heck out of them w/ no assembly required. It made it easy to vape in the morning.

Im a PAD smoker...and Im finding even 18mg Halo having too strong a TH and "spice" from the Nic I think. If I take a nice, light, 5 second slow vape... I cant just inhale it. I have to let it sit in my mouth (which is good for absorbtion by what I read) then slowly inhale and exhale through the nose or mouth. If I try and just inhale all that straightaway I choke...lol

Guess Im just learning how to Vape properly :) Its almost more like smoking a pipe, but without the HOT smoke burning your tounge and throat... (used to smoke a pipe years ago but hated the burning of my mouth).

I started on 36 mg but I smoked 1 PAD very strong analogs- so strong smokers would go without rather than smoke mine. I'm now down to 20 mg. I HATED menthol but in the beginning Vets told me new vapers liked menthol and they were absolutely right. It gives me a slight "kick" and has a mellow but sharp taste. I add menthol drops to my juices now. It could also be the PV you're using is not powerful enough.
Good Luck, Vapoor
Happy New Year.

You're welcome. I own the Don and a Provari- the Don I bought and the Provari I received from friends that I had bought starter kits for and converted. The Provari is very nice but I believe overpriced and their are superior VV PVs out there for a much lower price. I'm also noticing many sales happening so I'd be patient and wait for a deal. Vendors just went through a frenzy of buying and now comes the slow period for them and there are so many new models coming out now so your timing could be perfect.
Happy New Years, Vapoor.

Edit: To all Provari owners...please, please don't come down on me

Thanks Vapoor ... Im using the Halo G6, so its fairly small (battery size wise). Was hoping to use this for a month or so then step up to either a eGO-T or maybe even a Provari VV.
