My kit, a Green Smoke, which I know is poo-poo'd by many, but working absolutely great for me, came in the mail a lot quicker than expected. I still had a pack of unopened Marlboro 100's in the kitchen. Day one, while my kit charged, I opened the pack. Had one while I checked out the kit. Irony in it's finest. The next morning I made a cup of Joe, grabbed a smoke and went outside (never smoked in the house), my regular daily morning routine. Half-way through I literally let out a Homer "D'oh !" when I remembered the kit I just bought. Left the pack at home and went to work with my e-cigs, anticipating the worst, to be honest.

Made it through the day much to my amazement. Two days later I fired up another analog, "just because". Found out I didn't like it. Hmmm, this may work. Gave the pack to my neighbor. Figured if they weren't around, I couldn't be tempted.

So far so good. I know others leave packs around to "remind" them or whatever while quitting, but in my case, if they're there, I WILL fire one up sooner or later. I know me; I've known me my entire life. Hopefully my willpower has increased, because to be honest, I don't even have the desire to smoke one anymore. But I ain't chancing squat at this point; I'm batting a thousand so far. If ya don't have them, ya can't fire them up.

Now if I can just stop my co-workers from singing the NicoDerm commercial whenever they see me. "I just want to celebrate another day of quitting".... I know they're trying to be supportive, but that stupid dancing and poor singing could drive a man to smoke....

Stay strong, Mud Pie! Smart thing in giving your pack of smokes to your neighbor. And I'm glad you've known yourself your whole life! ;-) I'd be concerned otherwise! Just kidding.

vaping is such a wonderful thing. It's amazing. I wonder how many people are forging friendships and growing new wrinkles in their brain every time they learn a new fact on the patch/chantix/zyban/gum/lozenge forums.

new to this.. looking for inspiration :)

I bought a vaping kit one day and smoked the last analog I had left before I went to bed that night. I woke up the next morning and started vaping...I haven't smoked an analog since. I'm not even tempted. These things really work. At least they do for me...YMMV...

I started with a Smoke Power Lady Slim in November of 2011. They didn't do much for me so I still smoked analogs. Bought my ego-t kit last summer. Lots of leaking so I kept smoking analogs. Received my first Vision order on January 18 of this year and discovered the Want2Vape Mystical Menthol about a week later. I'm extremely proud to say that I've been analog free since 2/11/13 !!! My husband quit analogs the day I gave him the e-cig. So, to answer your question.... Took me about 1-1/2 years, but only a couple weeks once I found the perfect combo of e-cig and juice. Best of luck to you!

37 year smoker, last few years pad+, got a couple of ego twists for my wife and myself 7 weeks ago, been smoke free for two weeks. First couple of weeks, 4 or 5, then down to 2 or 3, finally to one, then none. My wife still has a couple a day, but I try to encourage her, but don't want to stress her out, eventually she'll stop. Everyone is different. I started out on 6mg and have a couple of 12mg bottles of juice, but rarely have to use them. Have an urge every now and then, but not too bad, I even go outside with friends at work who smoke for a break, I vape they smoke. Got one of my coworkers into vaping and he's now smoke free also.

It took me a couple of months. The first month was in finding gear that worked well for me [at n00b level] and the next was simply because I was too tight to just fire a full carton of analogs in the trash. (Although I'm relatively new in town and don't know any smokers here, I suppose I could've sent them by post to smokers in know in my city of origin.)

I stopped immediately. It was tough at times, but I think that was primarily because I didn't start out with a high enough nicotine level. Even with the higher nicotine, you go through a kind of withdrawal of all the other crud they put in cigarettes. You know, the stuff that gives you cancer.

Eventually, I hope to end vaping too. But, as I do, I will gradually reduce my nicotine until it's easy to just drop it all.

It was 2 months for me. Mind you, I was not trying to quit - I was using the e-cig as an alternative for the times I was unable to smoke a cigarette. However, once I started using an e-cig, my cigarette consumption dropped immediately and dramatically. I was a 33 year, 2.5-3 pack a day smoker, too! It was only when I was smoking the last couple of cigarettes per day that I made a determined decision to completely quit.
