Do any of you vapers still smoke a few analogs once in awhile? If so, how many a day?

I'm down to a pack a week, but I smoke that whole entire pack on Saturday. I don't feel the urge any other day, just on Saturday. But once Sunday rolls around, I feel so sick from the whole pack and all the phlegm that has appeared, that I don't feel the urge to for the rest of the week. We all have urges ;]

What activity are you doing on saturdays while you are analoging?

I've only been vaping a little over a month and I still smoke. Never intended to quit, just save money! LOL But the upside is, I only smoke 1 or 2 a day and have even gone 4 days not smoking at all. I've decided to NOT feel guilty if I WANT a smoke. I have to admit, after 2 weeks of having the same pack, they taste pretty gross the longer I have them LOL My problem is, I can't figure out WHY I want that smoke and then I feel really guilty after I have it, even though I'm allowing myself to NOT feel guilty.

I was smoking a carton per week for 35+ years. My switch to vaping was not planned ahead, it just happened on the day I took delivery of my first PV ... 1/15/2010, nine months ago. In my first month, I smoked one full cigarette and lit up several others which I couldn't finish.

There have been several times as recently as the past couple of months when I peeked behind the counter at da store, where they used to keep my brand. Not at all a common brand and apparently my lack of purchases prompted them to stop carrying them. That's probably a good thing for me. I know the last ones I smoked tasted like crap, but there's that occasional nagging in my head that wants me to try it one more time. Thankfully, the nag is silenced pretty effectively by a good vape.

Started vaping in Nov. 2009; I cut down from 1 pack of Marlboro Red 100s per day, to a couple a day, to not smoking at all for a couple of months early this year. Around May or June I started buying occasional packs again. I think it's mostly a nostalgia thing for me. I also feel more secure knowing that I can have a cigarette if I feel like it, although I hardly ever do; these days, one pack typically lasts me three weeks.

Vaping has so many advantages over smoking that it's a no-brainer.

I did not start vaping because I wanted to quit smoking. I started vaping so that I could quit smoking in the house. I was very surprised when I found vaping to be much more pleasurable than smoking. That being said, I do not think that cigarettes taste like crap. My husband still smokes several cigarettes a day and I occasionally join him outside. I am probably smoking about 5 cigarettes a week.

After 30 years of smoking between a half a pack to a pack a day (more or less, depending on what was going on in my life at any given time), I tried my first e-cig a year ago. It was a good alternative, but its inconsistency—dead atomizers, battery failure, etc.—led me to abandon vaping all of last summer. But about five weeks ago I bought my first bottom feeder and stocked up on juice, cartos, and batteries in order to make a serious go at vaping 100% of the time. It worked. I have not touched an analog in five weeks and I have absolutely no desire to go back to them.

It's all in the choice of PVs. Find one that works reliably for you, make sure you have all the supplies you need to keep you going for long periods of time, and giving up analogs is way easier than one might think.

I don't plan on vaping for the next 30 years, so it will be interesting to see if, when the time comes, I will be able to kick the vaping habit AND stay off of analogs. But I'm feeling more confident of success than ever before.

I have been vaping for almost 5 months and when I first started, I immediately dropped from ~40/day to ~15/day. Since then, I have gradually tapered down over the months, where I am now down to ~3 - 5/day. Goal is to completely come off of cigs after 30 years. If anything, I've been slow to adjust to the various combos of PG/VG (including 100% either way) with respect to mouth dehydration - even with doubling the water intake, so the gradual drop has helped my mouth/throat to adapt (it's much much better than when I first started).

Even doing this took much reading here, upgrading hardware, and hunting around for juices with the right nic level (including establishing a "new habit" with rotation of flavors and nic concentrations). Some of my earlier attempts at the higher nic juices were a bit of a fail as I could taste the nic - which negatively altered the flavor when compared to the same juice at a lower nic level... However I recently tried some FSUSA 24 mg nic samplers that lead to bigger bottles at that level - and all without the bitter taste! That plus the purchase of some VV mods, more of the bigger batts, LR attys, and now dripping (with the option to do some carts or cartos if I need to), will hopefully lead me off the cigs completely.

Heck, I think I have enough juice here to last a year and I am slowly revisiting my earlier purchases now that my taste buds have changed!

I vaped for almost a year before I was able to give up the last few cigarettes that I smoked a day. Mornings were the worst and thee hardest to give up. I'll usually chain about 3 when I woke up. Now I just use 36 mg first thing in the morning and have to give myself 1/2 hour of vaping to get past that craving.

The good news is that it is doable and it gets easier.

I was a heavy smoker 2 pad for 33 years, and I'm still surprised that I finally made it. Because honestly I had my doubts.

I didn't get my ecig to quit smoking just to cut down some. when I first got it I went through the included carts in two days (dse-801 big carts). I still smoked 2 or three in the morning and 2 after meals, coffee etc. When I got some stronger juice 24mg that I liked I chain smoked my e-cig just because cause I liked it better my my regular smokes. I havn't had a regular smoke in about a year. Still love 24mg flue cured.

Haha, well... I work and go to school all week and the earliest I ever get home is 8:30pm and my boyfriend lives in Tampa so we pretty much only get to see each other on weekends. Saturday is pretty much just spent going at it and the ASC is the only urge vaping hasn't been able to replace, so I end up blowing through a pack. Who knew being young and lascivious could be an impedance? =P

I orginally bought my ego to cut down on smoking at home. About a pack and a half a day smoker. I started out last July but had some major problems with e-fluid. Found out I am allergic to certain smells. BTW I am allergic to most perfumes, air fresheners, and cleaning agents. So I have been searching for the right fluid. I found a great vendor VR and I am sticking with them. Back to the question. I can go days without a cigarette...then I still have to have a few. Today I smoked 2 american spirt menthol cigs. Its not like I am craving it. I just like to go outside and have one. I did however reach my goal of not smoking inside the house or with any family members. They don't smoke and are okay with me vaping in the house.
