Hi. I received my VFL kit last week sometime. Maybe Tuesday? Here it is on Saturday and it seems most of the cartridges are already having that burning taste which I presume means they are empty?

I got two packages of 5 carts and only have maybe 3 or 4 carts left that do not taste like burnt crap. I only vape at night but it's pretty much non-stop for 4 or 5 hours.

I ordered more carts but they didn't come today and now they won't come on Monday either (I don't think - because of the holiday). These are never going to last until Tuesday!!!! What do I do? I haven't smoked an anlalog since I got this kit and I really don't want to have one. I guess it's been like 5 days.

Thinking about ordering juice to refill the carts but how hard is to clean the carts? It seems like there is alot of work involved.....

Advice please.

Thanks.

Cheryl

I haven't tried cartos yet (Lord willing, they'll be here Tuesday), but Doctor Vapor has some excellent videos up: youtube.com/user/DoctorVapor#p/

"A Great Way to Fill Cartomizers" shows a super simple way to refill them. "Care and Feeding of Cartomizers," Parts 1 & 2, show some other ways to refill them and also shows how to take them apart to clean them. (He boils his; I've seen others say they soak them in alcohol.)

This thread (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/67012-refill-cartomizers-quick-easy-video.html), I believe, is the original thread discussing the quick and easy refill method.

Hope that helps, and best wishes!

Take the filler out and rinse with warm water and use a paper towel to dry it, refill the cart with juice, add the filler and top again with juice.

I take my filler out every night, rinse clean, and lay out on a paper towel to dry over night.
I am on day 14 on the same cart and filler. No signs of tossing it either.
Sounds like you're talking about 3-piece cartridges, not cartomizers...
Taking the filler out on a cartomizer doesn't work so well.
It's very easy to pull out or distort the atomizer workings at the same time.

I don't clean my KR808d-1 (the model V4L sells) cartomizers between refills; I just add a similar-flavored liquid to them. Cleaning sometimes works to clear out a taste or some kind of blockage, but it's usually unnecessary.

It's vastly more economical to refill cartomizers than to use and dispose of them.
(Personally I just buy blanks in bulk and fill/refill them myself.)

There are several techniques out there to refill cartomizers, and aside from the good links above, you can also search for plenty of YouTube videos.
It takes some trial and error and you might have to try a couple of different techniques to find one that gives you consistent results.

Once you've stocked up on cartomizers, I'd suggest you try liquids from a few different places -- check out the Eliquid Reviews subforum and see what looks good. :)

I had the same issue at first, but had been using a different system with juice before, so knew what to do. Thanks to the myriad of advice on the V4L forum and other links provided to you on this thread, you will find the solution very simple. In short, once you get used to "topping off" your carts on a daily basis (<1 minute / cart) and have backup carts stocked up with your favorite flavors, it will be second hand in no time. As you get better at this, you will never run into this problem again. On a side note, many of the negative comments regarding KR808 cartomizers are about this issue, but it is easily solved by proper use and a little bit of time spent learning about your new tool. That isn't to say you won't find a bad cart from time to time because you will; learn to save the best ones then vape, topoff / refill (5-10 times), clean, refill, vape, and repeat!:)

If it's any consolation, I've found that 're-filled' cartomizers (re-filled by me) last a bit longer than the 'filled when purchased' cartomizers do. So when you do refill the ones you have, you'll likely get a bit longer vape out of them.

And don't vape them until they taste like 'burnt crap' unless you plan on throwing them away after just one use. Just vape until they start to lose flavor and then refill. Otherwise, you can damage the inside of the cartomizer.

You can always make no nic juice to top off your carts. Go to WalMart and get some glycerin, distilled water and a dripper bottle. You mix one part distilled water with 9 parts glycerin. You will get tons of vapor, but sadly no nicotine unless there is a little left in your carts. If may help with the oral fixation/addiction part.

You can find the glycerin in the first aid section. It's sold as a skin protectant. The distilled water should be in with all the bottled water. You may have to go to the crafts section for some type of a drip bottle.

MadVapes LLC << This adaptor will let you use your KR8 batteries on a 510 atomizer, then you have the option of direct dripping and not screwing around with cartomizers. Would be better if you only vape at home at night. You'll also get better performance with the 510, cartos are good for on-the-go.
