Dawn, My hubby started vaping when I did, he can't/doesn't want to quit! Believe me we have tried everthing..high nic, low nic, different devices, whatever. So far he likes the VK and cartomizers the best..but....
Next is the patch with o nic cartos. He tried that with Chantix but he didn't like the chantix.
E-Cigarettes are not for everyone..mores the pity. I wish they were magic bullets! I would be overjoyed to have my hubby off analogs..I could syop nic totally then!
I'm in the same boat as you, MaryKay. Hubby was kinda happy with the 801 to start with and he cut down analogs some. Then he didn't like it anymore. Too much fiddling. Got him a KR808D-1. Didn't like it, too harsh. Got him M401. He liked that one when dipping. Then he just slowly slipped back into full-time analogs. I tried everything too. 36gm nic didn't do it for him. Finally I just gave up! To me, it seems something in the back of his mind says "I don't want to quit"... and if that's the case, nothing anyone can do about it. :(

Seriously began this Dec 1 - what I have found is I LOVE my VK.....but when I get in a rush, I backslide to cigs. This weekend was a perfect example - holiday rush, family everywhere......I ran outside to smoke. I got MAD at myself because I was trying to load the car - had a cig hanging out of my mouth because my hands were full - dropped ashes everywhere and it STUNK.........heading home last night I was calm, had my grand daughter and my husband in the car, I pulled out my pretty pink manual - vaped all the way home and didn't tell them until we got home - they were amazed - they never even knew it .........I LOVE IT! I'm working on not getting in a rush so much because that is when I find myself looking for smokes, when vaping actually makes me happier! So, hang on, you will find your groove. I think as long as I have a pack of cigs lying around that gives me comfort knowing I CAN have it if I want to - but if I vape steadily I am perfectly satisfied. Hopefully in a few weeks I will never light another one.....besides, it made my head spin! I have gone from a pack a day to one or two a day after 40 years so I am very, VERY proud of that!

Ha, that sounded like me last night. I have relatives here and last night we watched the Sound of Music. At the end of 4 hours I showed them that I had been vaping the whole time. None of them had noticed :)

I guilted myself into being analog free by spending alot of money on v4l equiptment. told myself i could have an analog as soon as i finished vaping the carts I had paid for. Several orders later...NO desire for analog. Honestly tho, the craving for an analog was there for almost three weeks. Takes awhile for the withdrawel from the other crap besides nic to go away.

I started using my VK the day after I got it in the mail. After about three hours of playing with it, I had a couple cigs to see If I felt any more satisfaction from them... I didn't. The next morning was harder but instead of giving in I threw on a 36mg cart and vaped until the thought of more nicotine didn't seem pleasant at all... Maybe not the best way, but it worked. I still have to go to a strong cart to kill the cravings occasionally but it seems necessary less often as time passes. After the first week or so and my sense of smell started returning, I began to smell the smoke on other smokers and it smelled terrible. No real urge to smoke since then. I do crave a little nic buzz from time to time, but I have no interest in using anything other than a little "stronger than usual" juice to satisfy it. It's been a month now and have finally laid down a 25 year habit after failing with every other "cessation" aid out there. I guess I am one of the lucky ones and hope that everyone here reaches this point eventually. If I can help any of you that are still struggling accomplish that, just ask. I promise to do what I can.

I got my first PV (NJoy - NCig) just to give e-cigs a try. I did notice that my cigarette smoking dropped dramatically without trying. I was toying with the idea that this might work for quitting, but hadn't committed to anything.

Late one night, 10 days into vaping, I was headed outside to smoke & discovered my pack was empty. I knew I had a couple of packs left but couldn't find them.

Since I live way out in the country, I decided I didn't want to drive 10 miles to buy any, which should've been my first clue that something was up. I decided that since I had my PV, I could get by until morning.

When morning came, I discovered I didn't WANT to buy any. Haven't had the urge for even a drag from a cancer stick since that night.

On edit: Oh! Three days after that night, I found the 2 packs and they were exactly where they were supposed to be. I still have those 2 packs as my trophies! I like looking at them every now & then and mentally flipping them the bird.

AWESOME!!!

i gave it up instantly with the vk......
i quit for 5 days with the gum, and progesively got worse every night...until i was only sleeping for an hour or so a day...and fighting with the gf constantly.....
day 6 vk came in the mail....
slept just fine...
no pointless squabbles with the gf....
done!

....one night a few days ago though, i freaked out for ^omitted^ reasons, and bought a pack of newports..... chain smoked 2, and realized how nasty they were to me now!!
...im glad i did it too, bc now i am so repulsed by them that its quite ridiculous to say the least....

all in all,

31 days, 2 crappy unneeded smokes, and never lookin back!

1.5 packs a day and still in withdrawal most of the time.
vaping hasn't really chilled the withdrawal symptoms down... just seems to make me feel wired. It did let me cut down to just a few cigs a day. I'm pretty sure I'm addicted to more than just the nicotine from burning tobacco. Added snus this week and wow! That stuff is amazing. Makes me feel nice and mellow. I feel very little need to vape or smoke with snus. Next on my list to try are the Stonewall dissolvables. I'm actually optimistic that I'll be able to quit analogs with a combo of snus (and maybe stonewalls) and vaping. I can live with that.

24 1/2 days n counting! I think I smoked 3 or 4 cigs the day I was waiting for the mail to arrive. As soon as I opened it up and starting vaping I havent had one since. I needed to quit and wanted to quit because of all the crap thats in cigs. I knew gum or a patch would not do it. I loved smoking (except for smelling all the time, being an outcast and not being able to smoke anywhere). If this did not get me analog free nothing would. I still have that feeling like I would like to smoke. We'll see what happens when the summer comes. I just hope by then I just wont need to or want to. Yesterday I had a class for the FD I had to attend and usually I would have smoked at least 2 on the way, 2 when I got there, freaked out waiting for breaks and then again to be done so I could leave and smoke on the way home. I was fine and never thought about smoking. First time I can remember in 17 years! :)

1.5 packs per day, for 22 years.

Once I started vaping on my VK, I went to about 10 a day immediately. Then, day by day my need for analogs went down and down. I still have one socially here and there, and use Toque Snuff for the odd wild craving, but it DOES work, and thats whats important.

:D
