I have read many posts lately about people being mad that they are told they can not vape in Restaurants, Supermarkets, Movies, Trains, etc. Some are calling for boycotts, writing of letters and such. As a former smoker, I am a little confused by all this.

When I smoked cigarettes and went someplace where I couldn’t smoke, like a restaurant, it was no big deal. I sat and had leisurely meal and maybe coffee afterwards. And when I was done and when I was outside, I sparked up a smoke. Or when I go to the movies. I sit and watch some flick for two hours and when it is over and I go outside, I would have a cigarette.

I do the Exact same thing now only instead of a cigarette, I take some hits on an eGo. vaping hasn’t really changed my habits in public.

So I guess my question is, Has the time between vaping changed in comparison to the time between when you smoked? Can you go the same amount of time without vaping? Longer? Shorter?

It's funny, if I totally don't have my PV with me I'm fine. Like I almost forget I'm addicted to nicotine. That is unless I see someone smoking a cigarette...

But if I have my PV, and the battery dies, or I run out of liquid before I got "my fix" then I start seriously jonesin' for it.

All in the mind I guess.

Funny you should mention that. This was the direction I was going to lead the thread in.

I've smoked as many as five packs a day, before, but I've never been a fiend.

A few very very rare times I couldn't sit through a movie without a cigarette, it scared me and I throttled back.

People who vape don't seem to be as "fiend like", to me... and whenever I've ever seen someone go insane and not be able to sit still for an hour without smoking, I've thought it was kind of disgusting and child like.

I'm not really normal in some ways though.

Well, I don't sleep and vape, so I guess I can go anywhere from 5 to 8 hours without. I don't jones like I used to for analogs. I mean I still do, but I remember wanting to beat the crap out of somebody for a cigarette. Not quite the case with vaping. As for being told no, I think a lot of that comes from frustration with other people's ignorance. I don't do a lot of public vaping. But then again, I don't get out that much.

As long as 19 hours if I'm sleeping... (longest I've ever slept straight through, usually after exposure to the sun for more than 3-4 hours)

Awake? I set down my vaporizer to post this, once I click post I'll be picking it up within 3 minutes. I can go for as long as say...maybe 5 hours without vaping if I'm busy, especially if I can't vape and there are no smokers visible.

I think you missed my point regarding the boycotts. I am talking about the principle of doing something that is relatively safe v something that is relatively dangerous.
I guess i'd compare it to when you go to the movies and are not allowed to take in your own popcorn. But they will gladly sell you some at double the price. So they don't have a moral objection to eating popcorn in the theatre, just that they want to be the ones selling you it and ripping you off in the process
Imagine a further scenario where all popcorn was labelled as 'dangerous', except for the FDA approved Warner Bros brand, sponsored by GSK?
For the record, I can go out without my e-cig. But I choose to spread the word.

WOW, 5 packs a day. That is some Serious inhaling.

i vape MUCH more than I smoked. I have been off analogs since my 510 came in. And, to be honest, I haven't had a spare battery in a week. One on my atty, and one in the charger the whole time.
How long has it been since you quit? I think that during the first 3 or 4 weeks of quitting, all bets are off.

I can almost make it through an exhale, lol
It sounds like it would be safe to say that you vape more

I don’t seem to get as worked up either when I go without vaping like it was when I smoked. So you vape more but Jones less.

6-8 hours while I sleep lol.
We’ll put you down from vaping more also.

I find the same thing. If I’m busy I don’t seem to think about vaping much. I wonder why that is?

Don't worry about this too much, I was the same way when I first started.
A year later and now I have gone days without vaping---not often but I have.

With the NicoStick, I change batteries maybe once a week but I carry three of the darlings around, and I use the Wall Wart mods at home.

Of course, like yesterday when I was hanging out with a smoker, I constantly vaped.

I think you all make a good point about smoking or vaping being a time kill.
I'm the same way, if I'm very busy, I forget to vape or smoke for hours on end. It's always been that way.

The only time it's ever not been that way was when I was partnered with a guy a couple of years ago hustling appliances. We were EXTREMELY busy. 100 calls and more every day. Always had to be answering phones and making deliveries. Even had two ...... working for us delivering things pretty much around the clock and still couldn't keep up. Then we had to keep up with them acting like idiots. When we weren't busy with all of that we were out making repairs because we offered six month warrantees.

There was one week I got 12 hours worth of sleep that whole seven days. We didn't even have time to shower we would just hose off. My shoes were welded onto me and my ear was sore from the phone.

Being that busy, I would never have smoked .. but I was drinking ALOT .. You should have seen us drinking and eating like wolves. Had a great time but that alcohol seems to force feed cigarettes to me... But without an aggravation or stress like alcohol, any time I'm ever busy, I just don't seem to smoke at all.

Not only do I vape more than I smoked, but I usually left a movie at least once to go smoke and frequently stepped out to have a cigarette after ordering food and right after finishing dinner.

I’ve gotten up to have a smoke during a movie. Usually it was because the movie was so bad that I was leaving. ;)
