Noted. I don't think there is any way to edit the poll itself, but we can mentally subtract 1 and add 1.
I'm pretty sure the mods can perform the necessary magic.
I've seen it done a number of times at my previous "regular" forum.

But if I'm the only one to screw up then it might not be much of an issue.

I bought my first e-cig in July 2008. Best purchase I have ever made in my life (well apart from an e-cig mod I bought a few months back :D). I used to be such a heavy smoker.

I can still hardly believe how quickly I felt better, both physically & mentally, so for me, they are far from being a fad or a gimmick.

I marked August 2009 but it might've been September.. just not sure now.

This (along with snus) were actually started in preparation for thinking I was going to be going somewhere in late September on a trip where smoking wasn't going to be possible. With this being at the time more a "let me get through this and we'll worry about after after' thing I was really focused on the trip itself...

the trip never happened (idiots and politics got in the way) and it was literally canceled and in a really dirty rotten lowdown way just the day before I was scheduled to leave, leaving me not only severely disappointed and upset, but out lots of money for arrangements that were made that were then just too late for me to cancel, also lost a 12 year friendship in the process (it was just disasters left and right one after another and in a really short period of time there for a while), so all of that is really why I just don't have a good startup focus/recollection for this.

I think that 'well at least I quit smoking' and kind of really extra super focusing in on this being at least a success to come from it has helped me cope with the total failure of the trip, gave me something positive to focus on instead when I've really needed it.

(I haven't even really been able to bring myself to even mention the whole trip mess since it happened until this moment)

This has been my 'well at least here's something that's gone right' coping/focus thing.
With this you could say 'vaping' has gotten me through in more ways than one.

I'm assuming that you have read a lot and picked up a lot of information since you posted this last night, so I'm sure you have a lot of different questions now.

But I will at least tell you that you can start new threads in the New Members section.
Oh, and I'll also suggest that you read the thread linked to in my signature below.

Welcome!

You can start a new thread in the New Members' Forum. Read Smoky Joe's post that explains the rules for new users. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...egistered-members-please-read.html#post102872

There is also an FAQ thread in that forum that can answer a lot of your questions.

I will answer one of your questions: Yes, thousands of people have successfully substituted an e-cigarette for their tobacco cigarettes. According to one poll we have on this forum, 80.8% have totally quit smoking tobacco, and another 18.7% have reduced the number smoked.
