My brother and wife are direct lungers with a vape device. Now my brother uses a big ole sub-ohm device that puts out gigantic clouds at times but his go to lately has been refillable pods. His exhale is way way less but he says it gets it done for him. He still draws direct lung style a couple of seconds with a 6 nic instead of 3 in his big device.

My wife uses a 3 in a pod and exhales about like a cigarette. Neither get satisfaction from MTL they say. And trying to makes them cough. I do an MTL with an occasional short DL for an extra nic-kick.

It seems like after the first day or two with a vape your body has decided what works best for you. And a gigantic drag MTL style makes some folks cough.

I think where a lot of folks get twisted around is judging their exhale. No cloud means no hit. Nah, the key is what inhale works best and exhale just is what it is. Often times I'm asked "did you even get a drag?" because I exhale so little with some devices. I'd rather take two quick puffs and feel "ahhhhh" than one big one and cough cough cough.

Just pick a method and go with it.

So as most of you know I have been struggling to keep off the stinkies, and normally if I vape I vape DTL. But I have a few Sirens V2's unused, as well as an Innokin Endura T20.

Now I would love to do MTL but each inhale I do is ok, until I try to kick back. Then I cough and cough.

I was just wondering WHEN WILL I BECOME ACCUSTOMED TO MTL.

A good trick with mtl, is that when you take a draw, hold it in your mouth for 5 seconds THEN inhale.

It will be much smoother and after you do it a dozen times or so it will be second nature.

Many people attempt a straight lung drag, entirely skipping the mouth in MTL.

If you watch P Busardos older videos, you can see him counting to himself, he nods his head as he counts before inhaling.

That's what helped me when I first started vaping. I couldn't believe how I coughed when I started, how could vapor make me cough when toxic cigarettes didnt, so the trick for me was holding the vapor in my mouth for 5 or so seconds then inhaling.

I vape very long DTL draws at low power. I have a habit of "feathering" the fire button so I don't time out. I rarely cough, unless I get too aggressive on the draw or turn the power up.

The secrets of a smooth vape, according to me, and soon to be contradicted...

Low power=cool vapor. Why do people want to inhale hot vapor? Cigarettes are hot, and I hate them. I'm vaping 1.6ohms at 7W, and I am, indeed, exhaling a lot of vapor. The vapor is cool and surprisingly dense. You can hold it in if you want.

More VG, less PG. PG is irritating. VG is smooth. As a bonus, vapor production is increased dramatically. Great for kool klowdz.

Salt nicotine yes, freebase, no. Salt nicotine (or "nicotine salts" if you prefer) may or may not have magic powers, but one thing is for sure--it's a lot less irritating. It's not much more expensive, either, if you DIY.

But that's what works for me. All you can do is look at our suggestions and maybe give one or two of them a try.
