How many of you still smoke analogs occasionally?

Zero cigs for over 1 1/2 years. But, I told myself when I first started vaping, if I wanted one then it was OK to smoke one. The advice I got here on ECF was to count the ones that I didn't smoke & to chalk the ones I did up to the learning curve. That freed me mentally to never smoke again. I smoked for over 45 years.

Best advice is don't beat yourself up over 1 or 2 a week. Go with the flow & keep on vapin'!

I'll admit, I started vaping to stop smoking, but I never imagined how easy it would be.

Bought a Blu disposable on a Friday, and had my final analog 10 days later. I went from about 25 analogs a day down to 2-3 with the Blu, and realized if I had "real" hardware, vaping would work for me...and it has! Ordered a starter kit when the Blu died, and when that arrived I went analog free.

I was a little antsy about it for about 4 hours, but I was using my "kit" when the urge hit, just like I would an analog. Got through that first day and haven't looked back...that was all of 6 weeks ago ;)

I'm still smoking 10 a day, sometimes nothing, sometimes a full pack. I'm under a lot of stress with my father's illness, angry and crying more than I'm used to.Also hay fever plagued me this year more than I'm used to. Some days vaping tastes just great, I'm getting lots of flavor and some days I'm chain vaping nonstop. Some days I'm able to push it and spend two or three days without smoking. I know when the anxiety goes away I'll be able to spend more time vaping and less time smoking.

Not me. I'm one of those lucky ones who transitioned from smoking to vaping and as I did everything about smoking became disgusting. the smell of smoke, the taste - everything. After 30 years of smoking I sure as hell didn't see that coming. Last week someone who was very obviously a smoker sat down next to me on a bus and it was all I could do to keep myself from gagging from the smell of stale smoke coming off said person. Can't ever imagine having another one.

I can relate to this. I do occasionally smoke an analog (like every four days i may smoke one) and yet my hubby who still smokes is starting to annoy me with the way he smells after he comes in from smoking an analog. I think that is why I still do smoke a cig every so often ..... just so i can bare the smell of those around me who are smoking

I'm the same way now.. not even 30 days is up and the smell of a regular cig makes me want to gag... which i never thought would happen to me..

I regularly get the urge for an analog but haven't had one since the 2nd day I began vaping. Ive decided that when I finally complete my degree next year that if I still have the urge then I will buy a pack of reds. Unlikely though since it would just eat me up inside, its just the .... individual that I am though.

I was a pad or more smoker for 15 years. Started vaping dec 7th 2012. I had 2 packs when I started that lasted about 4 days. After I smoked my last one I haven't bought another pack since. Took a drag off of one a couple weeks in to see what I was so crazy about. It was disgusting! Haven't looked back!

When I started vaping it was with the intent of giving it an honest go. I had almost a pack of analogs on me so I freely had those after meals and when I woke up in the morning until they ran out.

That weekend I had one of my friend's cigarettes. LOVED IT OMG AWESOME.

Two weeks later I had one of my friend's cigarettes. Not omg awesome. I had half of it and didn't want the rest. As in I was holding a lit cigarette and found myself thinking about how I'd rather be taking huge puffs of vanilla bean ice cream. It was nigh unbelievable for the local self-appointed ambassador of tobacco. I was one of those guys who would take a hit through his nostril just because it works.

Since then I haven't even considered one. Don't dream of em, don't think of them. I'll admit that there's something missing from the feeling vaping gives that cigarettes have. Probably in the alkaloids. Even so, being strung up on nicotine is more than enough to make the decision easy.

I was having a really bad day and went out and bought a pack. But they were gross and very disappointing :(

Aw, that's the worst, buying the pack just for a disappointment and a box of 19 more disappointments.

I pretty much vape at will now, but for the first week it really helped to follow the routine of smoking. Get up, go outside, take 10-15 good big puffs, and go back in with the nicotine buzz. I feel like what I was getting used to more than anything was the feeling of having nicotine more constantly than before. The urge to take a smoke break and the subsequent relief was a bit part of the psychological aspect. I still do the first vaping of the morning like that, vaping till I actually want to set it down for a bit.

I still have an open pack of analogs sitting on my dresser that has been sitting there since I made the change to vaping 2 and a half years ago. Every once in a while it gets dusted off and then goes right back on the dresser. I can't bring myself to throw them away but I haven't had one since I started vaping. Although after 2 and a half years I am sure that they are just a bit stale by now.

My husband (who also vapes) has one every now and then, usually when around his brother in law, and a full week of analogs once year when he goes hunting. Every analog not smoked should be considered a victory.

i am determined not to go back. i smoked half of one two weeks after quitting and then took a puff three weeks later. dont miss it, not even going to pretend to now. im so glad my car doesnt stink, i dont stink, i dont waste as much money, there are butts in my yard, i dont have to go to the store all the time, my hangovers arent nearly as bad, i can run miles at time, and the list goes on. im so proud of myself, but i know they're hard to quit and its a personal question. ill never be an antismoking nazi.

if you're happy smoking occasionally go for it, at least you're smoking less and reducing harm to yourself. its a hard habit to kick, and at least we've all tried.

I'm tempted to cheat every now and then, mostly when I'm around friends who are smoking. I haven't had any, though. I'm afraid I'll just spiral back into being a smoker if I have that one. And I'm proud that it's been 10 months since my last cigarette and I would lose my "record". When I'm around smoke, the smell makes me feel nauseous and cough sometimes. If I hang out in someone's house where they are smoking for a few hours, I'll cough up some gunk the next morning. Still, I do get the urge to bum one. I think it's mostly a social thing, and I miss the taste a bit. I haven't even vaped any tobacco juice because I'm afraid of getting started on the cigs again.

It's funny .. I was extremely skeptical about vaping especially since I was forced into quitting by my doctors but I smoked my last analog walking into my local B&M the day after Thanksgiving 2012 and haven't looked back! I've had two days where I did want one but only cause I was having terrible vape days on both.. But I didn't and haven't had a craving since and no one is more surprised than me.:toast::vapor:
